i know McDermott is not Rex, that in itself is a great thing, but I don't get all the love for him specifically. Maybe I'm missing something, but what has he done that we know of , not that we think he has done(like make draft day trades?) He's just not Rex , so far at least.

Many don't understand that. I think many fans were prepared to praise McDermott no matter what happened. Do you really think that McDermott was working the phones for trades? Because of his experience as a defensive coordinator?

I'm glad you're cool with that. Not that it matters. Sometimes I respond to other comment instead of initiating the converstion- you know, a back and forth kinda thing. It happens on threads. i'll give my opinion of the draft after they actually play some games. I just think it's ridiculous and reporters and fans hand out grades before the players even suit up to practice. It's like a teacher grading your exam right after she hands it to you. Nothing personal towards you, but your evaluations were more amusing than others. Really?

If we were ever super bowl contenders in the last 20 years, we probably would have signed some of those DB's to their 2nd contract. Made no sense at the time because of how the team was set up.

The draft is not a 'crap shoot', these players are scouted, studied, interviewed, tested... for years in some cases. Just because they all don't pan out doesn't mean it's a 'crap shoot'.

McDermott needs to learn that there is no 'I' in team.
