  1. I'm not a huge fan of the way the Pegula's have run their franchises thus far, but I so no issue with this. They'll hire enough scouts in time for the next college season. And we have scouting reports from the previous staff, that's proprietary property of the Buffalo Bills.
  2. it's silly. Is there anyone to really be scouting to heavily right now? And it's not like we burned the files we have on players recently scouted.
  3. There are likely more than 2 types of Bills fans here, but if you want to only categorize 2, there are those wait for a player/coach/gm to do something before assessing their performance and those that judge based on a 'hunch' or a feeling before any work has been done.
  4. it's not really just a kids game, ya know. Hate when people say that. It's played at a much higher level and sleeping on nails won't get you a tryout. It takes a special athlete to play it and Gordon is one of those flawed, special athletes.
  5. lots of idiots in the nfl
  6. Pegula said there would be a thorough search, that obviously wasn't done. I think that's the basis for the criticism. How many of us could have predicted this choice? Pretty much everyone.
  7. i think the point is the pegulas are making bad business decisions when it comes to sports. I'm sure nobody is worried that pegula will go broke, and it's nice to not worry about wasting $35mm, but it's hardly a good thing. It's bad business, even if he can afford it.
  8. Probably means, just don't restructure if you already have the cap space. Let the deals expire as originally planned or only restructure if it's critical.
  9. and he was probably long in buffalo before they assembled their draft board.
  10. Yes, Ryan screwed it up, but Pegula is the one that hired him, not Whaley. Buck stops with him, although he seems to think it stops with Whaley. I never heard anything out of Marrone as to why he left. Maybe just wanted a $4mm paid vacation.
  11. Also, it's not like these players were unknowns. I'm sure every team had them ranked appropriately on their boards. Team visits were probably done after McDermott was hired. Can't see this being an issue. Be careful of trusting those that preach, most of the time, they are full of it.
  12. Pegula inherited a championship level defense and a top special teams unit. He screwed it up by hiring Rex and not letting his GM hire his coach. Maybe Marrone knew something and got the hell out.
  13. Why would you think that? Playoffs under a young up and coming first year coach. Kicked us around last season, by all accounts had a solid draft and started replacing some dead weight this offseason.
  14. It sounds to me like Pegula wants new blood, new way of thinking.... he seems to be interviewing former assistant GM's for the Sabres, probably doing the same with the Bills.
  15. at least we are on the same page. Time for Pegula to get his staff on the same page.
  16. What I'm saying is that there are many positions on this team where the is no legitimate competition for the spot. If you think Incognito is going to have competition for LG, you're kidding yourself. Just one example. Yes , I understand he has to keep the level high, but let's be realistic.
  17. i couldn't be more correct, if you think there is competition for each starting position on the bills this season, you're delusional. Barring injury, we have many starters entrenched at their positions and going nowhere.
  18. it's different people
  19. I expect him to have an excellent season.
  20. everything, my brain still hurts from reading it.
  21. So all the good that happened was in spite of him, all the bad was because of him. Got it, nice fair and balanced critique.
  22. No, that's fine. Thanks for not insulting me for raising the question. But honestly, I would think any coach but Rex would probably act in a similar way. I'm a huge Andy Reid fan, so the fact that McDermott worked under him has me optimistic, but i'll still wait and see. I think he has quite a bit a talent to work with, we should compete this season. No it shouldn't. There shouldn't be competition at QB, FB, RB, WR(1), TE, LT, LG, K, DE, DT's....
  23. In that time a top 5 , championship level defense was built and a top 10 offense also. I believe we had the top rated special teams 3 years ago as well. Pegula hired Rex and messed it all up. Whaley gets canned because Pegula messed up.
  24. Guess it depends who you talk to. Some on here 'blame' Whaley as assistant GM under Nix, so those same should give him credit for helping build a top 5 defense, which would have gone along beautifully with last years top 10 offense(thanks to the McCoy trade) if the coach that Pegula hired didn't mess the whole damn thing up.
