  1. Maybe if they go with a pure speed guy. If one of the top guys slips in 1 or 2, it is still on the table. Obviously there’s work to do on the DL still and CB2. They need another S as well. It is only day 2 of FA.
  2. The offense is still 1 WR short. They traded Hollins for Palmer. Palmer is an upgrade but there is still a need at WR. Otherwise, I agree (assuming the Cook situation is worked out).
  3. It doesn’t include Josh’s deal either which is the big 1. After the extensions, the cap guys were saying that they were $20Mish under and needed about $2.5M for the draft. I’d suspect that they currently have like $13M of cap space to play with.
  4. Kenneth Gainwell
  5. Holland to Giants https://x.com/adamschefter/status/1899432409671573703?s=46&t=aIi6rXjE4r9_s--847m7fQ
  6. I like both additions so far. The Bills are better today. I still think that they need more top end talent but they added upside.
  7. Mack played hard. Mack was an interesting character. Mack was great in the locker room. Mack overperformed for his talent. Mack is a WR 5 or 6. All of that is true. We loved him for who he was here and how much effort he gave. He’s a bottom of the roster player. The Bills WR room is better today than yesterday. I wish Mack well but Palmer adds a dynamic that they didn’t have. Keon will have to develop into the role that Mack played (and then some). He’s going to have to be physical and a gamer. The Bills will miss the person but not the player.
  8. They just signed him I think. Walker obviously fits their timeline but are they paying them both??
  9. I’m in the trade market if I’m the Bills. They have $ to spend and nowhere to spend it. The window is wide open. I’d be looking to average to bad teams, with new leadership. Give them picks in exchange for veterans that don’t fit their timelines. What would it take to get Travon Walker from the Jags for example?
  10. Probably posted but this is good: https://x.com/scottbarrettdfb/status/1899179015157760132?s=46&t=aIi6rXjE4r9_s--847m7fQ
  11. Feels like a decent signing. That’s a big number for him but he can hopefully help stretch the field. He has averaged over 15 YPC each of the last 2 years.
  12. It sounds like they are about $20Mish under now. They haven’t pulled the trigger on Dawkins/Brown/Oliver (and won’t unless they need to). They need around $2.5M for the draft class and another few million for in season moved
  13. Yep. I’m simply suggesting that both of those other guys busted out once they got away from the Saints (although Hendrickson was okay there). Perhaps a change of scenery for Turner makes him, at least, a quality rotational player?
  14. That is the same group that drafted that bust Zach Baun in the first. They also drafted Hendrickson.
  15. I could be on board with Holland and Allen. I wanted DJ Jones but think he’s going, or already went, back to Denver. I think Holland is a realistic target. I also think that they are in on the veteran edge guys. They’ll land one or even two with Von being one of them. I would also be hammering the phone with the Bengals. I’m starting by offering 2 1’s and a 2 for Chase. Make them say no. I’d pivot to Higgins or Hendrickson but not at that price obviously.
  16. I’m actually of the belief now, that the Bills trade a 2nd for an elite player that we didn’t know was available. Dexter Lawrence is at the top of my list I think.
  17. No they can’t. They aren’t and weren’t going to be able to allocate 35%-40% of the cap to the DL. That’s certainly true with Josh Allen. They can afford 1 more guy, maybe, in the Rousseau/Oliver range. They aren’t in the Garrett and Hendrickson range.
  18. Yes, I wanted him traded as part of the Garrett package. That way you could trade less picks and avoid paying him. I’m sure they tried but Garrett wasn’t leaving.
  19. It’s not so much a “bargain” as the “reason” that they did it. Once they knew Garrett and Hendrickson were dead, they shifted to Rousseau and cheaper options.
  20. I’m literally sitting on a beach in Antigua. That’s too much to read. With that being said, the gap from Garrett to Hendrickson is decent. The gap from Hendrickson to the field is decent. The gap from Garrett to those other 4 is wide. They are not all interchangeable. Now that Garrett is off the table, they should try to get one of the vets on a short term deal (Mack or Bosa). That’s possible. The top of the market AND Rousseau was never realistic.
  21. @Magox now the Rousseau deal makes more sense. I’m sure that they swung on Garrett, and presumably Hendrickson, then pivoted to Rousseau. They’ll still add to the DL but when the top of the market wasn’t available, they moved down the list. I still don’t love the Rousseau contract but if Garrett wasn’t an option, it is a little better.
  22. You can’t do all of that now. Sweat OR Allen might be an option. I’d say Allen liklier than Sweat. Again, look at the math and cap allocation above. You aren’t going to see the Bills commit 35-40% of the cap (in terms of AAV) to the DL. They already have big commitments at LB, OL, QB and soon Benford and maybe McGovern. It just isn’t realistic.
  23. My guess is that if they could have gotten Garrett or Hendrickson, they wouldn’t have signed this deal. They’ve made those calls I’m sure. Again, the vets or even Allen at DT are possible still. The top of the market though is off the table. That’s why the Bills locked up Rousseau. I think using these percentages as a rough guide to % of cap allocated to each position is fair. Clay has 10% to edge. That would be roughly $27M AAV based on the current cap. Yes I understand that it goes up. I also understand that you’ll be higher or lower in certain areas. I understand that QB importance is 27% and that will never be the number. I’m just not sure that you will see the Bills go to 21% or whatever AAV on edge. That’s what you’ll be looking at with Garrett or Hendrickson. They are likely off the table.
  24. He’s currently 8th in AAV. I understand that will change over the next few years, but I don’t know if he is a top 20 edge. If you think that they are going to pay a top 3 edge AAV (Garrett or Hendrickson) and top 8 (Rousseau) we disagree. That doesn’t feel likely. It’ll play out though. We will see if that’s the case. The other guys, specifically Bosa or Mack feel more realistic. They may take shorter term deals. This Rousseau extension was a mistake because it gave the Bills another solid player instead of selling out for a great one. As @FireChans wisely said, I’d rather trade a 1, 2, and Rousseau (more if needed) for Garrett and pay him $34M AAV than Rousseau at $20M AAV. The Bills have enough good players and not nearly enough great players.
  25. Garrett and Hendrickson are probably off the list with this extension (Sweat maybe as well). You can’t pay $48M AAV to 2 edge players.
