  1. To me, one of the most perfect pop records ever made...the "wrecking crew" at their very best. Jimmy Webbs' lyrics, Campbells nuanced vocals, soaring strings...and that amazing, completely ad-libbed bass line that opens the record...it kind of serves as a little step into the "world" of that song... I saw Glen a few years ago, when it came out that he was suffering from the onset of Alzheimers. I was watching my mother go through it (she succumbed shortly after) and my grandmother before her. It was an unusually emotional performance for me. Campbell was perfect...hardly a dry eye in the house when he sang "These Days". I've heard that song hundreds of times, by everyone from Jackson Browne (he wrote it) and Nico...but, because of his circumstances, the song was devastating...RIP Glen
  2. Though it breaks my tradition of hating all teams from Florida (college and pro, and sport...its' a Dolphins thing), I think this Bucs team is going to be awesome this season...I'm looking forward to this. Plus, we'll get to see some Fitz!
  3. Florio is a "muck-raker" if ever there was one....but he muck rakes about football, so I like him!
  4. Thanks for the heads up! A little listening as I drift off to sleep!
  5. I'd say his career as a Buffalo Bills was over before Rex got there. He was a #1 draft pick QB who got 14 starts in 64 possible games. After being moderately successful early in is his rookie season, he got injured, and I would say, really never had a chance after that. Marrone used the quick hook on him in his second season...it was very clear from that point on, EJ wasn't ever going to be the preferred QB for the Bills. I agree, it might not be fair to say he was given "no chance", just very limited chance, especially considering his draft position. I'm not arguing that Tyrod isn't better, but Rex's first season, when the Bills had an open competition for the starting job, you could have argued (at least in pre-season game action) that EJ performed at least as well, if not better, than Tyrod. Yet, he was immediately relegated to the 3rd QB spot. It was clear they had no use for him.
  6. Maybe he wasn't great, and never will be any good, but I don't think he had a great shot. I think Marrone pulling him after that texans game, in favor of Orton pretty much ended any chance he had of progressing.
  7. That "silly package" is pretty awesome, in my opinion.
  8. The only competent people that Trump has picked have been Generals, save for Flynn. Can any of them convince this idiot, now, that he alone, is the biggest problem with this administration? Lets' hope Kelly can do what no civilians have been able to do.
  9. That is pretty much in line with what Donald Jones (also a good friend of Stevie) has said about Stevie in the last month..
  10. just busting your chops buddy...you always make me laugh..more so away from PPP!
  11. Pay no attention...Boyst has jumped the shark...He was awesome the first few seasons!
  12. Your point is taken. Though, I do wonder why some people find being called racists so disdainful, when that is truly what they are. Many are embracing that. Wasn't that part of the Trump phenomenon...its' okay to be an !@#$, "because our guy won"? As for Obama's "condescension" about God and guns, take it that way, but the comment was taken out of context to some extent, and he was right. When Obama made that comment, he was actually expressing empathy for people that are scared of change...they cling to the things that make them most comfortable. In my opinion, Trump knows he was right too... and he is banking on it for re-election. As lousy as Trvmp has been since taking office, there has been a noticeable amped up nastiness in the tenor of his public comments the last week or two...he is in full early campaign mode now. And he is there, for a reason.
  13. Hey, I wasn't necessarily talking about you TYTTT, just the part of his base that will appreciate this move. Those are the people that this move was set to appease...the ones who are upset about Trump messing with their dram AG, Jeff Sessions. And it will appease some of them, no doubt. Those people are deplorable in my book. That is his base right now... who else is he trying to appeal to ,when he goes on these campaign rallies, six months into office, and starts ramping up the racist bull ****, and attacking the most vulnerable people...reasonable people who supported him (and there are some reasonable people who voted for him, I concede) are starting to get tired of his rhetoric. Their starting to see him for what he is. He needs the cheering crowds...and once he has them, no telling what the hell he will say...it seems like he does't even know sometimes...he has the impulse control of a very small baby. To your original point, about the military having a plan, I am sure you are correct. There seems to be growing reports (all fake news no doubt) that Mattis and the Joints Chiefs of Staff were "blindsided" by Trvmps' tweet. No doubt, they new it was on the agenda, but they weren't prepared for the president to tweet the proposal out...I am sure they wanted to do it in a subtler more nuanced way.
  14. Biggest surprise, they actually mention Rex Ryan by name!
  15. Caught the end of the Jets film, they made it seem like beating the Bills in week 17, with "nothing but pride" on the line was an indication of gang-greens' bright future..
  16. Bills are on now...see rumbling Buffalo heard...
  17. The schedule on the NFL Network shows 2016 NY Jets right now, which is on...my cable guide shows it as 2016 Patriots. The NFL Network schedule says we are on after the Jets flick! I guess we'll find out a few minutes!
  18. According to the NFL Network website, the Bills 2016 yearbook film will now show today (7/23) at 5:30 eastern... and than re-air tonight at 1am (technically 7/24) They shuffled their programming around to accommodate live coverage of the Cowboys arriving at training camp..and to show Super Bowl Super Bowl LI for the 9,000th time!
  19. Good call...I almost forgot about Bennett's game against the Eagles that year...he was "a beast" as they say! I think it gets forgotten about because we lost, as I recall. I was thinking of Bennett's first game as a Bill. Against the Broncos. I don't think he had any really huge plays, but I do remember he and Bruce harassing Elway the whole game, to an extent that I had never seen him harassed before. As I recall, he sacked Elway on his very first play. Great game, good memories
  20. Bills go 6-10 Tampa Bay beats Oakland in the Super Bowl.
  21. Mine was Jim Everett...won a championship with him! One of his two or three really good seasons in the NFL!
  22. I'm saying Bucs vs. Patriots...
  23. I have to admit, last year, I wanted to see them make the comeback...that was pretty incredible. It wasn't because I like the Pats (at all) or because I hate the Falcons (they are kinda one of the "meh" teams in the league for me), but just because I wanted to see something happen that had never happened before.
