  1. Yes...at some point they showed him, where you could see his face...
  2. Forgive me if this has been mentioned already. I wish I had DVR'd the game, but I swear, when Taron Johnson went down to injury (a dirty head blow by Hayden Hurst in my opinion, shocked that they didn't at least look at it) for some reason, when Joe Buck said that Hamlin was coming in, they briefly showed him coming off the sideline, putting his helmet on...he looked uncomfortable to me then. At the time, I just thought it was perhaps concern for Johnson..or knowing that he has become sort of a fan whipping boy over the last 6 weeks or so....I didn't think it was that unusual...but I noticed it immediately. It's not the kind of thing I would normally notice, it was just a brief shot. Maybe it was nothing.Did anyone else see this?
  3. I think Simms is more of a Josh Allen fan than a Bills fan. He seems to have soured (like a lot here) on the Bills offensive roster.
  4. I was banging the drum for this before the trade deadline. I love Jacobs...probably my favorite non-Bills player in the league right now. That said though, it doesn't seem as necessary a move as it did a few months ago. He will command a large contract, and he can't help us out this season. The emergence of Singletary and Cook has been a pleasant surprise.
  5. Yeah, you completely missed my point... but since you bring it up, he started 25 games in the league and appeared in 31, over 3 years. Nobody, except Al Davis thought JaMarcus was a first round pick, let alone the best player in the draft that year. Josh Rosen, on the other hand, was regarded by many to be one of the 3 or4 best QB prospects in a strong QB draft. Many "experts" had him as one of the top 3 QB prospects. He has been in the NFL for 5 years, played on six teams, and started a grand total of 16 games in the league. I wasn't saying JaMarcus Russell was underrated, or even good..or that he wasn't a "bust"... .but to me, he doesn't belong on a "Mt Rushmore" of draft busts. The expectations for him weren't really that high, outside the Raiders organization.
  6. My point with Russell was, the Raiders drafted him #1 overall in the NFL draft. He was a huge bust, for the Raiders. But 31 other NFL teams would never have drafted him #1 overall. To me, that is just an indictment of the Raiders ineptitude, rather than Russell's ability. He very well may still have been awful, but a 3rd round QB pick that doesn't amount to anything is more the norm.
  7. It is pretty clear from the responses here, we don't have a clear definition of what a "bust" is.
  8. Thanks. That is what I was trying to say..
  9. He's just the latest..his career isnt over yet, either. I would say Josh Rosen is a much more serious contender at this point. I also wouldn't put JaMarcus on there either. He was vastly overrated, and overdrafted by the Raiders...but most didn't have any huge expectations for him....he was a very green prospect. Someone like Rosen was pretty universally expected to be an bonafide NFL starter. Russell was always viewed as a very raw prospect. Who knows, had he been drafted in the 3rd or 4th round, as many expected, he might have developed into something more. Team overdrafted him, and put unreasonable expecations on him...he was bound for failure.
  10. Since when do we go by anything but stats? Context? Did i miss the memo?
  11. Can anyone tell me who won the Bills game last night?
  12. What special significance do the Bills have to Nebraska and Hawaii? Two states withiiut a team of their own. Does that give the Bills a legit claim at the "America's Team" moniker? Or would that be the Bengals?
  13. Could be too, if Beasley returns as a reasonable semblance of himself, it takes some pressure off of McKenzie. Isaiah may just be more comfortable in that gadget role, with the occasional high volume game, when nobody is expecting it.
  14. Part of the reason so many guys seem to genuinely love playing for the Bills is that "family" feeling that the community extends toward the franchise and its players. I think it really stings when it comes from fans. Beasley said something to the effect that hearing criticism from fans, when he never had before was an eye opener. Granted, I don't think criticism Beasley faced was performance based, but Isaiah is no different. The internet gives a forum to millions to take shots at one individual, legit or not. They just have to learn to ignore it.
  15. Agreed. If Beasley is as contrite as he sounded upon his return, perhaps he will advise his friend not to get too caught up in the "internet world". More than anything, that is what derailed Beasley's career. I don't say it as a criticism, but many of these guys have very fragile confidence. You see a first round NBA draft pick retiring after two years because the constant scrutiny of his play by experts, and armatures got to him. No matter how much money they make, in the end they want to succeed and be loved by the fans. I think so many athletes could help themselves immeasurably by just staying off social media.
  16. You know, Moulds played with some decent QB's in Buffalo...Kelly, Flutie, Bledsoe....
  17. I like Marino...I listen pretty much every day. I think he knows his stuff, but I also think, sometimes, his regimented format kind of makes the show a little dull. More guests might help.
  18. On a recent Sunday, when the Bills weren't playing, I had a bit of driving to do. I put on a terrestrial sports talk radio station, figuring they would be going around the league, updating me on game scores. They did that, but their sole focus was on what a given team in a matchup had to do to cover the spread. it was gross. I am not opposed to gambling, and like many, I do play fantasy football...but jesus, I hate that point spreads have become a bigger story than actual game results. I hate all the gambling talk.
  19. Maybe Josh can mentor Brett Favre in the off-season!
  20. I only saw him on two plays early on (Michaels actually pointed him out "at the bottom of the screen" to Josh's right)...on GR this morning, they said he was in for 12 plays. He's wearing #16 now.
  21. I think he only got about 2, maybe 3 snaps that I noticed.
  22. For those keeping track, Hodgins has had 12 catches on 15 targets, for 142 yards, in his 3 games as a Giant. No td's.
  23. I don't think the NFL would have a problem with that. Despite all those who have claimed, or vowed to stop watching the NFL, it still dominates tv ratings, like nothing else. Even as many cutting the cable chord, there will be more outlets vying to broadcast NFL games. More games, more money. Personally, I think the NFL is pretty high-level sports entertainment. To me, if it is boring, it is because every other game now has an unbelievable ending...we may be getting numb to it. As a 50+ year Bills fan, I used to be able to chronicle, in my brain, all the 300 yard passing games by Bills QB's...Feguson passing for 400 yards against rookie Dan Marion, in 1984 was something I remember almost like it was yesterday... but now, there are 3 games on any given Sunday that surpass that. Last weeks win over the Browns was as "old-school" a win as the Bills have had in the last few years. While there were (predictably) a certain part of the fan base bemoaning the poor offensive efficiency of the team, there were others who were excited about the "winning ugly" persona of that game, and yesterday's victory over the Lions. Not sure which is better.. but i am always amazed by the appetite people have for this league.
  24. Antoine Winnfield, Nate Odomes are up there too. It is interesting that Stephon Gilmore, who will probably go down as one of the greatest corners of this era, is rarely mentioned as a Bills great, by Bills fans. He spent the first five years of his career with us.
