  1. wouldn't that be something to celebrate! I don't know if I could handle that much success after 13 g.d. years of misery. I keep telling my kids that the Bills use to be good. I always get the same response...... "yeah right dad"
  2. I was watching college football today, (I rarely have time for it) anyways, I could not believe some of these stadiums the colleges have. The Ralph really needs some work. Borderline shameful. Wow
  3. 1) Coach 2) Players with the right mindset, both offense, and defense 3) Coordinators
  4. Hopefully he can pick up the non stop blitzes that are sure to come. Maybe counter them with some long balls.
  5. Yeah right, we are so far out there, I think we might be on our way back!
  6. Remember when Kelly and our offense put up those kinds of numbers consistently? Those were the days.
  7. It would be great to see him develop a deep threat with one of our WR's.
  8. I wonder if the Bills FO have considered a trade with the Giants for a certain QB they drafted? I know this is a long shot, and he hasn't proven anything yet, but he would be the guy most familiar with this offense other than the QB's we already have. I would think he would have the ability to step right in and have minimal growing pains, unlike White, Freeman, or anyone else they might bring in.
  9. Maybe this is what Buffalo has been lacking for quite sometime. A good old fashion knock down drag out bitter cold ugly rivalry with someone. It isn't with New England, because they always come back and beat us in the fourth quarter. Same with the Jets. Miami isn't loud and boisterous any more because they go into games just hoping to win, not really commanding it. What I'm saying is what would Batman be without the Joker? Or Superman without Lexx Luther? Nothing, that's what! We need to find our own Lexx Luther. Until we become competitive in our own division, Cleveland would make an excellent adversary.
  10. Judging by the number of empty seats, not a lot of their fan base is proud or supportive of them either. Pretty sad situation.
  11. Don't get down on Tuel just yet. I know he didn't look good last night at all, but give him a chance. The Browns defense was all revved up because we let them back into the game with lack luster offense. He went in at the worst possible time. I look at it like this. Who is going to play harder for you? A guy who might be sweeping floors tomorrow, or a high dollar first round draft choice with some serious guaranteed money, that the FO is (no matter what) going to jam down our throats to make an attempt at saving face? They don't want to look bad, on paper when they are putting resume in elsewhere. I'm not saying Tuel is our savior. Just give him a chance to practice with the first team, maybe get a little flow going, and who knows? And by the way, will someone take the challenge flags away from Douglas!
  12. It is a sad but hard truth. None wants to play for a team that has been in rebuilding mode for 15 years. (byrd)
  13. Poor QB play can be attributed to refusal or inexperience to adjust to what is being shown on the field. The best view of what is on the field is from up above. The closer you are to a shelf, the harder it is to tell if it is level. But step back away from it, and the story is more revealing. There are a lot of teams out there that will make adjustments on both offense and defense, to make their opponent change their game plan. EJ certainly has the talent and arm strength that we have been missing for awhile. I would be interested in knowing who is making a lot of the calls on the field? EJ, Hackett, Marrone? I think Keister hollow makes a good point also. Good teams play as just that. A TEAM. Now, Mike Pettine is the best DC we've had in a decade and a half. I am sure he knows all of the Jets flaws. There's no harm in a coach pointing out another teams flaws to another coach. No disrespect toward Pettine at all. I wouldn't trade him for HC Bill Cowher. But winning is a complete team effort. Any one that has played any kind of sport knows that. People will get in front of a camera and sell the party line like a politician, but everyone knows that the proof is in the pudding. Team work = success.
  14. If Hackett is in the booth looking down on all of this, he needs to properly recognize what is being shown to capitalize for the most beneficial gain. I can understand missing a play or two here and there, as he is a first year coach. However to misread, or overlook open space multiple times, is not so forgiving. Any coach must understand the frustration of every Bills fan out there. I am sure as they are being interviewed, at some point it comes up that this team has not been in the playoffs for umpteen years. be mindful of the situation, and don't get caught sleeping at the wheel. Sometimes the smallest details can have the largest impacts. Hopefully this is something the coaching staff as a whole has addressed and won't let opportunity slip away to many more times. I for one am ready for a playoff game, for better or worse.
  15. Has Rodak been reading what we write on TBD? I did not know he was so clever. Brilliant!!!
  16. It has been rumored that he just plain does not want to play for Buffalo, has he said what it is that he wants besides $$$$$$? Who does he want to play for? Rex Ryan and his circus?
  17. That is some funny stuff. Probably will need to be 10-6 to be a wild card though.
  18. Lol, I guess we could, but after even more 3 and outs our defense would be so beat up, it would be non existent. Yesterday was just the tip of the iceberg if the offense doesn't give the defense a little breathing time. Players get hurt when they are tired.
  19. When Gailey was pressured as to why he didn't use Spiller more, he kept making references to CJ's size. He didn't feel that CJ would be able to physically handle the pounding that he would get, if he was constantly used to run the ball. Any one can run a ball through a wide open hole. There definitely needs to be a different coaching mindset, and some offensive game plan adjustments made until Hackett can figure out how best to use his resources. On the other hand, he could have the very best game plan one could imagine, but if the players on the field cannot execute, it's all for nothing.
  20. Jim Kelly's last regular season home game against the Chiefs. (I think it was still called Rich Stadium ) We were losing the whole game until the fourth qtr. Thurman had reached another 1000 yard season. Chris Spielman had an interception. I was sitting in the end zone when Jim threw both td's right in front of me. I think one of them was Tony Cline's first TD pass. I remember his eyes were as big as silver dollars when he caught the pass. With that win, we made the playoffs, and were headed to Jacksonville. It seemed like it was a pretty cold day. During warm ups you could see steam on everyone's breath. Just a great day for football in Buffalo.
  21. Stevie-Can I have a do over? Coach Marrone- Ahhh for god sakes just go sit down and scribble on your shirt again!
  22. I got a text from a N/E fan when it was 10-0. It said that the pats were having a bbq and Buffalo was on the menu. About half way through the fourth qtr, I decided to answer the text. I wrote back "the thing about bbq buffalo is not to choke on it!" Why did I feel compelled to text back? Should have left well enough alone!
