  1. Well the Miller comment and the departing cap space are facts correct? I called the leadership “questionable”. That’s a fact. I didn’t “none”, “devoid” or “lacking”. Do you think there is sufficient “proven” leadership? And sure you can say the comment on Brady’s offense is opinion. It is opinion. Anything is possible and maybe Brady will reverse his track record AND McD will allow him to take off the training wheels. At least it’s more likely than Rich Kotite making a comeback and winning the Super Bowl. So we’ve got that going for us.
  2. Von Miller isn’t a cap drain? Departed players aren’t sucking up our cap room? Those aren’t facts?
  3. When Brady fails I’m hopeful McD will realize he needs a real OC that will bring his own offensive philosophy. Heretofore the focus has been on the offense not putting the defense behind some perceived eight ball.
  4. Elite QB physically. At times he shows up to games unprepared. He is clearly not respected around the league. Is that a lack of leadership? He needs to become a leader or show that he already is a leader. To date he has seemed to be sensitive to criticism and had his best weapon shipped off to Houston. Strong defense? We might but the brains are gone. I have high hopes for Rousseau 2024 edition. I love Oliver. After that we’ll see. Have to make the playoffs before executing in the playoffs. It’s not unreasonable but it’s not forgone.
  5. It’s actually optimism mostly. Just not for 2024. After 2024 I think Beane will have a good feel for next steps. Expecting a team with big holes, salary cap vortices like Von Miller and departed players, questionable on field leadership and a weak offensive philosophy to flourish now is unrealistic. Realizing this is not pessimism.
  6. Me too. Probably not though.
  7. Fair enough. Will edit.
  8. It’s pretty clear to anyone with an objective pair of eyes that 2024 has already been and will continue to be a year of change for the Bills franchise. Even whe setting aside the looming new stadium and other topics beyond players and coaches, massive change is clearly afoot. We’ve been a good team for the last few years, we have the number one building block needed for an NFL team, a QB with elite skills, but our first roster build around that QB failed, and we will see where our second build leads, but……this year is neither, it’s the change year. Like it or not, 2024 is lost. Because: We got rid of our best non-QB offensive weapon We decided to get rid of leadership anywhere and everywhere we could We’re still saddled with useless players on ridiculous contracts and/or paying off cap hits from departed players We have a coach that prefers defense to offense and as such opted for ineptitude at OC for this year There are clearly players still on the roster that either shouldn’t be, or who the coaches would prefer off Given all of the above, it is silly to expect much from 2024. The big question is how it will position us for 2025 and beyond. Below are what I’d like to see happen in and after 2024 to help position us for 2025. They are not in order of importance really. Most or all will need to happen. 1. McDermott fully realizing complementary football doesn’t simply mean a nerfed and vanilla offense letting the defense get more rest during the year, but also allows for situational strategy and games where we are high octane. 2. An off season hiring of a real OC, not a puppet. 3. Bye Bye Von. Take your big talk with you. 4. Apparently some our our leaders and their styles hurt the feelings of some snowflakes so Diggs, Morse, Tre, Poyer, and more are gone. Emergence of new leaders and new leadership styles is a must. If you’re going to get rid of a player like Diggs because he hurt some feelings, you’re going to learn the easy way or the hard way, that sometimes hurt feelings are necessary. You simply can’t have a bunch of “fun” leaders. Josh or someone will need to fill that void as the team navigates the turbulence inevitable in any season. Based on recent press disclosures, the amount of respect for Josh around the league is slim to none, I wonder how much of that stems from his lack of seriousness. Rousseau is no longer everyone’s understudy. Now is his time. Who will be the others? 5. Like #1 but different……McDermott either deciding to simply get rid of players he doesn’t like or deciding to live with them. No more trying to play the middle with back handed compliments like the ones he throws at James Cook for example. You can’t change everyone, Either roll with them or don’t. 6. Let players that clearly don’t want to be here walk, I’m not sure why Douglas doesn’t want to be here but it’s pretty obvious. 7. Be objective and clear the decks of traveling hospital wards like Milano even if they were great while they were here. 8. Ditch enablers to the goofball leadership style even if they are decent players. Get something for them. I really like Dawkins and Knox as players and think they are underrated but they also don’t appear to take winning seriously. There is too much of that in the locker room. 9. Beane’s accurate assessment of all of the above as 2024 plays out. The cap stuff will be mostly gone moving into next year. Does he go right after it in 2025 or is it time for a major re-set? No more a little bit of both. 2024 is a metamorphoses year. We will emerge in 2025. Are we in a cocoon this year so we’ll emerge an ugly moth or are we in a chrysalis so we can emerge a beautiful butterfly? We’re about to find out.
  9. Scrolling the MLB standings, the most wins or losses any team non-White Sox has as of today is 84 losses by the Rockies and Marlins. Yanks, Phils, Dodgers top the win total at 78. A lot of teams are relatively close. The White Sox on the other hand have 101 losses. 17 more than the closest tram in either category. They are in 5th in their division, 35.5 games behind the 4th place Tigers. They have clinched last place in their division. Yikes.
  10. LOL 12 minutes and zero posts apart.
  11. 14 with the hair. Was that Sammy?
  12. Tim Graham used to be a twerpy little annoying hack but watching the telecast I have to give him credit. He’s evolved and is now a scruffy fat unkept annoying hack.
  13. Interesting. It’s like that time Josh Allen sacked himself.
  14. Boo boo foots tend to linger.
  15. They went and got Diggs and this helped the team tremendously. In the end, some members of the team had soft feelings that got hurt so the elite #1 WR had to get kicked to the curb. It was time to grow up but evidently that wasn’t an option and coddling was the selected route. You don’t just ditch a top end talent and expect to replace it immediately. Management knows they will take their lumps this year. Fine. Maybe it will force some growing up. But that talent needs to be replaced somehow for 2025 and that isn’t automatic whether via draft or FA.
  16. Dude I have bad news for you. Twice. 1. The Oilers moved years ago. They’re the Titans now. 2. The Titans and Bills can’t both win, they’re in the same league.
  17. Bupkus still all we got?
  18. Thanks. I thought some might focus on my not so fun outlook for 2024 and not see my optimism for 2025.
  19. Samuel was always destined to be injured and have a lost year/stolen contract. Turf toe is a perfect excuse for sucking all year. For 2024 the Bills will have to get very lucky. 2025 should focus on a top WR in the draft. If the Vikes stink we'll have pick say 38 plus our own which looks to be in the 12-15 range which should be enough to move up and get a top flight guy. They can’t be spending 30M on some loser like Aiyuk. It’ll be interesting to see which route we go with our new OC for 2025 and what style WR will be a good target. Then get a mid-tier FA for depth/experience.
  20. You’re right. They are SoTeary.
  21. It may be heart, mentality and/or Staley for Herbert so far. Personally although I get skewered on the regular, I think Josh lacks the mentality to bring his best every week. That is what has held him back more than Diggs, McD, Davis, and all the other rotating scapegoats have done. He needs to change his mentality, not be so sensitive and come to every game fully prepared. When he does, he will win. Until he does, he’ll watch Mahomes win. Whatever happens, the board will focus on Diggs being a big mean poopy head and McD’s shortcomings. FWIW I think J. Brady will be good for Josh because Josh DOES have heart and Brady’s ineptitude will force Josh to realize he needs to be ready for everything all the time and he can’t get by on heart alone. I think by mid-season we will finally see him look focused and concerned on the sidelines and he will be forced to assert his will behind the scenes. 2024 seems likely to be a choppy mess and a lost year. It has the potential to be THE turning point if Josh handles it right.
  22. And none of it is his fault at all. He’s just a poor little millennial victim.
