  1. Probably not but far from impossible. Read today that Mullins and/or Mountcastle could go. Embarrassment of riches.
  2. I think Holliday is almost certainly untouchable and that under any circumstance not including “but we already have Rutchsman”, Basallo would be too. Maybe he moves to first and Mountcastle is part of a deal in the off-season? Mayo or Westburg has to be part of any Skubal deal. Add in Bradfield. I think Kjerstad or probably Cowser gets added to that and Povich rounds it out. A top 5 MLB pitcher on a controllable contract won’t be cheap.
  3. I see Crochet as someone the Sox should move because the are just so bad, but……he is dicey as a pickup because of his innings versus his history. He has appeal beyond this year due to his contract status but if he runs out of gas this year he defeats part of the purpose of getting him. If I’m Bal/NYY/LAD and I pick him up, I rest him for a while, build him back up in September an use him in the playoffs. Skubal OTOH is a monster. IMO he will cost way more. I don’t think Detroit is as bad as most think. I’m not sure I’d trade him. They have pieces and could contend soon in that division. They can get some additional pieces and likely will by trading Flaherty. As much as Baltimore has to offer there isn’t really a lot of pitching there. To me, if Skubal goes it is not NYY or Bal. Maybe the Dodgers. The dark horses for me are the Padres who could package in Lesko or Snelling or the Phillies utilizing Painter.
  4. Pack up the car and head to Bowie because there is another one there who night be atop the wish list.
  5. They could loose. Or they could tight. It really doesn’t matter but we need them to have a bad record.
  6. Is it possible the Tigers trade Skubal? Personally I think that would be a mistake because guys like him don’t grow on trees. The receiving team’s odds would go way up but they’d have to part with an absolute ton. Realistically the Tigers building blocks are decent and underrated but get multiple high end prices back might get considered.
  7. And people still wonder how there was enough money to build Vegas.
  8. RIP Very funny guy and highly underrated IMO
  9. I mean you can mute the Canadian announcers but they still pan the crowds and there are hundreds of Canadians. Nobody needs to see that. And I think Celine Dion is the lead cheerleader for Montreal. Gross.
  10. Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally a shiny object has come baaaaaaaaaaaack to TBD!
  11. They were probably disoriented from being sick. People are making a huge deal about the bird flu. Personally I could give a crap about them.
  12. Reading the Yanks are considering shiny object Jazz Chisholm. Luis Rengifo is twice the player at half the cost.
  13. Told? Don’t you mean shown?
  14. They’re cute. Aim for the squirrels, not the ducks. Idiot.
  15. Clearly Diggs was producing. It would be interesting to look back and find your comments on the production of Brown and Beasley at the time they were acquired. My guess is that perhaps you were not effusive with praise. Personally I don’t remember you saying one positive thing ever about the Bills and your screen name is a criticism of a specific unit, but who knows maybe you were doing cartwheels for Beasley and Brown. The only thing that will stop it is a time machine and McDermott avoiding the horrible Tre’ Davious White the evil cornerback.
  16. Not you. I simply don’t believe whoever you cited. All fans look at some things through rose colored glasses at times. If I were a Yankee fan I’d probably be agreeing with you. I’m neither a Yankee or Oriole fan. To my eyes, based on what I’ve seen in Holmes pitch data and given the fact that the Yankees have been targeting the O’s up and in all year, I think he was 1000000000% trying to hit him and wouldn’t even completely rule out head hunting which I find hard to stomach in 2024. That pitch squared him up dead on the noggin. Holmes didn’t even look phased…..just gave a matter of fact type reaction. Look at how batters react when they hit the pitcher in the head with a line drive. It’s instinctive because they didn’t know it was coming. Holmes? He didn’t seem phased in the least. Easily could have ended Kjerstad’s career and Holmes gives it a “meh”? If the O’s and Yanks keep playing like they played in the 9th yesterday, I’d like to be the first to congratulate the 2024 AL East Champion Boston Red Sox.
  17. I saw some clown that said it slipped because….rain. Slipped but still 97 mph…..gotcha. I’m glad Kjerstad gets to continue his career. The Yanks have hit O’s batters something like 10 times this year, mostly up and in. Can’t beat ‘em, try to hurt ‘em.
  18. LOL at not intentional. Heard a guy analyzing on MLB radio that looked at Holmes pitch selections over the last two years. Until Friday he had thrown that pitch up and in to a lefty exactly zero times. Zero. Then he drills a top prospect rookie in the head. Yeah that checks all the “ unintentional’ boxes. Right. Can I buy he meant to hit him in the shoulder/back/side? Maybe. He one trillion percent intentionally hit him. Reckless. A slight slip of the helmet and about an inch away and Kjerstad could legitimately have been killed.
  19. 100% intent. Holmes hadn’t thrown that particular pitch up and in to a leftie in two years. He drilled him right in the head. It’s one thing to have a little payback for a perceived issue earlier in the season. What happened last night was not that. It could have ended that kid’s career or worse. Boone then had the nerve to say “I hope he’s ok”.
  20. Mild surprise: Shorter
  21. Bring a lot of extra u’s. They put them in words for no reason.
  22. Yanks should target Rengifo at the deadline if his injury is not serious. He could really help them IMO.
  23. Soto’s approach rubbed off on them in the beginning of the year but they’ve adjusted well and seem back to their normal trash tendencies.
