I'm just happy to see more football minds being hired. An AGM or even two AGM's are better than none....assuming they are quality hires.

Two things make me very pessimistic about the 2017 season... 1 - Tyrod...Is he capable of improving significantly? 2015 & 2016('16 may actually have been a bit of a regression for him) were pretty much the same TT. Have we seen the best TT is capable of? 2 - The schedule is brutal.

As much as I am on board with the McD/Beane team, this was a major screwup. Not sure whose decision it was(Pegula, McD, Overdorf, someone else), but it is almost impossible to defend. It's not a question of, can they fill all the vacant spots in the college & pro scouting ranks. It is a question of, how many good scouts did they kick to the curb in this purge, and will all the newbies be better qualified than those they replaced.

With two "younger" GM's in Beane and Botterill, wouldn't it be great if these guys worked out, and we as fans won't have to worry about the next GM(s) for many years to come.

At least Beane has the tie with team colors. You would have thought that someone in Sabres Land would have had a blue and gold tie for Botterill, just in case he showed up without one. LOL

I'm sure the Bills would like to be as secretive as possible when it comes to separation of duties of all FO staff. This way when the **** hits the fan, and someone has to be fired, they just point the finger at that person, regardless of who is to blame. No one knows for sure. Hopefully they just start winning,and we can forgot about all the FO nonsense.

I have no idea whether the McD/Beane team is going to be successful. I certainly have concerns about how this "collaborative" effort is going to work in lieu of a more traditional Owner>>>GM>>>HC reporting structure would be. Here's hoping it is a rousing success. PS I really hope they prepare whoever gets trotted out for the PC. You know there will be a ton of questions regarding separation of duties, who reports to who, etc....

I think people need to keep in mind, that the relationship between Beane & McD in Carolina(DC & AGM), is nothing like the working relationship they will have in Buffalo if hired(GM & HC). You'd be surprised how quickly egos can come into play, and past friendships get flushed down the drain. Not saying this is going to happen, but always a possibility.

If I was Manning, I'd stick to making commercials(getting paid a king's ransom for a couple of days work), and not about getting hired into a position that requires 60-80 hour work weeks.
