  1. speaking of Lost, I finally decided in the last few months to watch that show after never having seen it ever before. Made it through middle of season 4, and have gotten pretty tired of the twists. Not sure I can finish it!
  2. I have probably seen articles from about 15 teams’ beat writers all saying that their team should be taking Kenneth grant from Michigan. Everyone in the 15-30 range seems to think he is their guy!
  3. Can’t believe I am saying this, but the cowboys take some solid calculated risks at the backup QB position. There is a lot of upside to go getting younger, talented raw prospects (Milton) or high-upside reclamation projects (lance) at backup QB.
  4. Milton is an absolute stud. Doesn’t matter that we had backups and a vanilla defense. His poise and accuracy and throws on the run were elite in that game. To get a guy with that upside for a 5th, is a steal. No risk for the cowboys.
  5. Can’t wait! just going to need to buy Netflix, YouTube TV, Amazon prime, peacock, paramount plus, Hulu, disney, and espn plus. Piece of cake. (Oh, and then odds are, the games will be on major holidays anyway, and so I won’t be able to see them).
  6. Fred McGriff supports Tom Emanski’s defensive drill skill videos, which produced back to back to back AAU national championship teams!
  7. NFL already ruined Christmas for the Steelers last year with the chiefs/steelers game on Christmas Day. I suspect we will see another team.
  8. I won’t watch this. But we actually should have won that game. Recall that horrible blindside block call on Dion near the end? I think that knocked us out of FG range.
  9. not only that, I found most of the games to be really sloppy. The MSU-Auburn game was unwatchable. my theory is that college bball now is all about these big rugged 23-year old transfers. At least, Houston, Texas Tech, and Auburn are built that way. There is a premium on physical defense and offensive rebounding. It sort of ends up drowning out a lot of the great athletic skill play. The athletic play is still there, but it’s sort of taken a back seat. Duke seems to be the exception this year, but that’s because they have three man-child freshmen that have the physicality of 23-year olds.
  10. I was totally against signing this guy last year. A mid receiver that looks good in a shanahan offense. Now, after an ACL… Most of these San Fran skill players are pretty mediocre if you take them out of that offense. No, thanks.
  11. i despise basketball reviews. They need to get rid of them all. The NBA is the worst. I hadn’t realized it had trickled down to the NCAA.
  12. Wow. I thought there wasn’t much of a chance of a deal.
  13. that inbounds play was a real thing of beauty!
  14. I thought this thread said she took a “job” with the Dolphins!!
  15. I had the same impression of Connors. Never really liked him. I actually was a bigger McEnroe fan as a kid.
  16. if we are talking about Jimmy Connors, this is one thing I remember: chasing down these overheads at the US Open.
  17. totally agree. I also think it is worse in college bball than football. Maybe because the rosters are smaller and the NIL money is less overall than football, but i feel NIL is ruining bball more than football.
  18. Richard pitino is a solid hire. Are you ready to un-quit Xavier?!
  19. he will be great in year 1…. Before turning into a cancerous malcontent.
  20. I can’t believe this is even a debate. Who else is seriously building stadiums without roofs anymore? In the last 15 years, maybe just San Fran is open? I get that Buffalo might not ever host a SB. But can easily get a higher return with a closed stadium. Think of all the major NCAA events, which are now in similar medium-sized cities like Cleveland, Detroit, and Indy. I think Detroit is even hosting the final four in the next year or two!
  21. I was at the store the other day and the cashier saw my bills gear and said, “you better watch it— KC might tie you guys.” I had no idea what he was talking about. He then said, “yeah, If they make the SB this year, that will be four in a row, just like the Bills. I didn’t think anyone would ever do that again.” Never even dawned on me that KC has gone to three straight, and this year could be four. Our four in a row was an unreal accomplishment (that I think we take for granted, since we never won), and I think yet another reason we need to take KC down this year.
  22. i hear you. I have a buddy whose kids are all grown and he loves high school bball. Just goes to a bunch of different games all the time. Much more fun!
  23. Yup, all about the money for coaches and players now, I guess. Just have to spend more and load your team up with 23-years old grad transfers now. No surprise that no mid majors made the sweet 16 this year.
