What is really painful was the GW play. Two guys nailed Watson. Because of the physics of two guys sandwiching him, by dumb luck, he stays on his feet. That should have been a sack and way out of FG range.

the lone insight from ESPN’s stellar and insightful broadcast of the game was when they said the Bills went out and signed a veteran to be in each of the players’ rooms this year. I had not heard that until today. I love that idea, and think it went a long way to getting this team prepared. We can rip guys like Gore or Lee Smith, but their presence probably reaped some long-term gains for the young players.

I actually could see McDaniels and Brady going to Cleveland. He would be stellar with the weapons they have there, but it woold mean basically pulling the plug on Mayfield.

McD is exactly right. He wasn’t trusting the other guys. If he just dumped the ball down or threw the ball away, it would put the team in better spots. Too much hero ball.

They will go heavy and then split DiMarco out occasionally. He’s pretty much useless. I noticed the Texans didn’t even put a guy out near him. not a good idea to throw to him 50 yards down the field.

Too much hero ball by JA in the second half. He could have just checked the ball down and run quick passes, and could have developed some rhythm and moved the chains.

JA didn’t seem to be looking at the middle of the field at all. Very weird.

That’s exactly it— or at least a guy with some stronger hands that can make those tough catches and don’t need the ball to be placed right in their hands. I don’t think anyone is saying Duke is a number 1 (or 2)— but he is the only guy I have seen on the roster that has ball skills and strength that you want from the WR position. John Brown is a good receiver, but he’s not a no. 1.

Both. The contested catches he makes are ones I would expect most good WRs in the NFL to make.

Duke was the best receiver on our team today. Not sure why people are dogging him. He made several key contested catches that none of our other receivers have made all year.

Someone up thread said JA May have been concussed on the Watt sack. That may explain why he looked so dazed late.
