  1. This was most fan's hope that Davis was a #1-A running back. As preseason went on, we could see Davis was not going to make us forget Cook. It made Josh appreciate Jimbo even more. Ty Johnson should be #2 and Gore and Davis need to switch spots. If we lose Davis through the PS, so be it. Only thing I'd hate to lose is his Kentucky connections with Max and Walker. Seem like a tight knit group.
  2. I also have been surprised at his run support, but folks treating him as a whipping boy pales in comparison to offenses targeting whoever Tre covers. Injuries have obviously reduced his tread wear. He's not a starting caliber for the NFL, but Max's injury has exposed Tre's wear and tear again, and other teams know.
  3. Pressure from the guys up front always makes the coverage easier, enabling them to jump routes with the QB not having as much time. That said, does McDermott blitz enough? He seems to put a lot of faith in his front four getting to the QB. Bills had no sacks but got pressure on the INT and a few other plays. To me, the Bills D does not get consistent pressure with just the four down linemen.
  4. Bengals best case scenario is .500 now. They invest in shiny parts (Burrow, Chase, Higgins), but they ignore the engine (O-line and most of the defense).
  5. Tre looked good in run support today, which surprised me. He still seems to be a liability in pass coverage.
  6. Jets were pumped to play Aaron Rodgers. Against the Bills, they came crashing to Earth. It's a reflection on Glenn not getting his team prepared. Only his second game, so maybe he'll learn. I do like Glenn, but we'll see if he is a victim of the Peter Principle.
  7. Our WRs are smart. They come back to the ball when they need to, as demonstrated on a few plays last night. If we ever have a receiver that stands around with Josh scrambling, he should be quickly on the bench. They are not great receivers, but they are great working with Allen.
  8. Hancock can't get healthy soon enough. He stood out in preseason.
  9. He's definitely better than the alternative of Epenesa. Epenesa looked lost. I'm sure Bosa will get a few subtle reminders about his responsibilities when reviewing the game this week. He probably did make Oliver's job easier.
  10. I was positive we'd pick Humphrey to eventually replace an aging, oft-concussed Center. Would've made perfect sense, but Beane seems to fall in love with certain players. Can't win em all.
  11. Arguably Beane's worst move. Never understood two DEs in the 1st and 2nd rounds.
  12. Saw an article that said Shaq's finally participating in team drills. Ciarlo is taller, younger. With little prep for Thompson, I wish they'd give Ciarlo a chance to see what he can do. Start Shaq on PUP.
  13. He's not the prototype QB and he went up against marginal NFL players against the Bucs. Numbers looked great, but he's just too short to excel against first team defenses. PS QB at best.
