he launched himself to try and stop him from getting to the 1st down line. he got caught in no man's land because once you leave you feet there's no going back. so yes he was wrong to do that given that Flacco did end up sliding but i don't think he should be villianized the way some people want to believe. he's definitely not a dirty head hunter type player. i think both sides are a little at fault and it was a very unfortunate play and Kiko will be fined, no doubt. can't hit a QB in the head

That's fine there's plenty that do. Ganging up and making it personal towards me like some did was unnecessary. Teddy Bruschi agrees, Deion agrees, Cowher agrees, Herm agrees...the QB was going for the first and Kiko was trying to make the play. QB has to slide sooner, don't go for the first. Both sides going full speed at each other, no time to stop in such a bang-bang play. QB can't wait until the last second and then wonder why he got hit. As the rule is written Kiko will get a penalty and fine but there's absolutely no way he's trying to intentionally hurt him on that play. Just doing his job and stopping the ball carrier from getting the first.

When I was young if I signed up to play then saw how bad the team was and quit and then decided later I wanted to play but for a different (better) team they would have laughed at me and said sorry but no and gave me a speech about commitment

I respectfully disagree. I think it was a bang-bang play and Kiko committed to hitting him no matter what because initially it looked like he was trying to get the first. Flacco chickened out at the last moment and slid at the exact time Kiko went for the hit. If it was Vontaze Burfict maybe I would feel differently. Kiko plays hard and came in too hot but I don't think he tried to intentionally target his head. But because he did make contact with his head yes I think he could have been ejected and it will be a fine

I appreciate your opinion and I agree because he slid he needed to pull up and didn't and because the hit landed on the head it is an ejectionable play. I saw it as bang bang and having played and been in that situation on both sides I can understand both views. Some others on this board just can't handle it when someone has a different view though apparently. Thanks for coming with a respectful response

Deion saw it just how I did. Flacco going for the first. His fault. Kiko didn't pull up so that's on him too but I feel for Kiko but I know it's tough to stop once you initiate the hit. Because it was a hit to head he should have been ejected but I'll never agree that he did it on purpose. He was trying to stop him from.getting the first

He was 100% going for the first and at the last second chickened out because he didn't know Kiko was there. Kiko went to him him at the exact time he slid. Both in the wrong. Because it was a hit to the head it's a penalty and borderline ejectionable offense but it definitely wasn't dirty. Ive been hit on plays like that and I've delivered hits on plays like that. If you don't want to get hit as a QB don't go for the first. I learned that lesson the hard way too

I was replying to 2 people saying it was helmet to helmet. It wasn't so I'm assuming they didn't even watch the replay so their posts are invalid

Watch the slow mo replay and you will see for yourself. I've been in that situation many times on both ends of it. If you don't want to get hit dont go for the first. When on defense you don't assume he's going to slide so you finish the play. It is what it is nothing intentional about it

Once you are committed to hitting someone you can't pull up. Almost impossible at that point. Flacco shouldn't have gone for the first and Kiko shouldn't have come in that hard but how many times do QB's act like they are going down and then don't? Cam did it to us

Did you not watch the replay? Hit him with a shoulder. Flacco slid right into it. Kiko even went out of his way to duck to not him him with a helmet

I haven't seen anything in kikos history to think he's a dirty player. Tough to pull up. He was in the wrong but that wasn't his intention the way the play unfolded
