  1. RIP. I can just barely remember him being on football cards when I was real young in the early 70's, but remember his more from being the father on Webster, being an adoptive father with his real life wife playing his wife on the show. Of course he did Monday Night Football for a few years and was remembered for saying Otis Sistrunk was from the University of Mars (he didn't go to college). He was also in one of my wife's favorite movies, Against All Odds as a Sheriff. Some people forget that he also got suspended for a year with Paul Hornung for betting on football.
  2. You are right, every QB misses a throw every once in awhile, but not every 3rd pass thrown is a mile off mark like Fitz' are. For every pass Fitz throws that you say has flashes of Elite there are 5 passes that make you wonder why he is in the NFL.
  3. When they signed him it was just a temporary thing until the young punter they have that they are really high on gets healthy.
  4. It is obvious a that Gailey isn't the answer, and it was no coincidence that nobody in the NFL had thought of him as a head coach in over a decade. In the 52 years of this franchise, Gailey has two of the franchise's 6 longest losing streaks, and the two longest in the past 27 years-in just 2 years of coaching. People criticize Jauron, Williams, Mularkey, etc. but they never lost like this guy does, and arguably never had the talent that he as this year.
  5. Any draft pick is a potential bust. Has he been great, not even close and he has looked pretty clueless for the most part, but he has only played in 5 NFL games and in most of those the opposing quarterback could have set down a tablecloth and a picnic basket he has so much time to throw. You are right he hasn't really shown that he will be elite yet, but in my opinion, Aaron Williams is alot closer to being a certified bust after over a year of playing. He gets burned, what seems like at least once every possession the other team has.
  6. I hope so, but as far as the 49er game, the only way you can use the word "great" when you talk about the defense is, it was a "Great Embarrassment."
  7. That is where you and several others are wrong, Fitz is not underperforming. What you see is all you are ever going to get from him. He is a bottom 5 NFL quarterback and will never be anything more. It might be underperforming if he were at least an average to above average QB, but he isn't. You can't take a VW Beetle into a Nascar race and say it is underperforming because it can't keep up with the "real" racecars.
  8. I have always knew it was Ralph behind maybe the worst lineup decision in Bills' history, yet he tried all he could to make sure Wade Phillips took the heat for it. Things like this are a big reason for the lack of success in this organization for 80% of it's history. No reason for Wiley to make anything up, he is one of the most intelligent former athletes you will ever hear talk. I agree, the Bills were the hottest team in the AFC if not the entire NFL going into the Music City Ripoff. People can criticize Flutie all they want, but no QB the Bills ever had, just seemed to find ways to win like he did. It is no coincidence that 100 years later, that is still the last playoff game the Bills have been in. Ralph's letting his wallet talk over the head coaches common sense put a jinx on this team that may never be lifted.
  9. Better coaching by far. Better schemes. And sadly as bad as it was, probably better quarterbacking.
  10. It was his first real NFL action and showed promise, but I really don't think you can say anyone had a "great" game in that game on defense for Buffalo. They always have to blame someone to try to take the attention off of the coaching, the scheme and the highly paid underachievers. Doesn't work anymore though.
  11. You are kidding right? Luck is playing like a seasoned vet on a team with far less talent then this one, other then at the WR position. Cutler had one bad game and has been very good. Romo is 10X the QB that Fitz will ever be, and I don't even like Romo. Fitz has reached his peak, Stafford has ups and downs, he is young and his ups have already been far better then anything Fitz will ever accomplish. Vick has so much more talent, and is a much bigger threat, but he has lost a step and the Eagles are trying to turn him into something he isnt. Tannehill has been at least as good as Fitz, if not better. I like Fitz, but the crazy statements people on here make to support him is ridiculous.
  12. With this front office, we would be in round 5 before they figured out what we were doing.
  13. I read it and don't have one bit of a problem actually believing what he said. I know he ran his mouth here, but it was mostly the competitor in him, but what he says about his time in Buffalo, and the team results while he was here do go hand in hand. He wasn't one of these ex-Bills who is bashing the city, fans or even the weather, what he did say didn't surprise me even one little tiny bit. Not saying it is always the coach, and often times it isn't, but why were so many people bashing Wannstedt after the Patriots game?
  14. I understand that, obviously, but my point was almost the entire San Fran Giants roster despised Bonds his whole time on the left coast. Not sure about a panic button, but there is just cause for serious concern. I am not sure too many people would be upset if he wasn't leading the league in sacks and being a total beast, but he hasn't even showed up? He already has more excuses for poor games then he does sacks, and the season is 25% over already, not like it is still week one.
  15. Kind of sounds like the arrogance and special treatment Barry Bonds used to get in San Fran. I also read where there are already eyes rolling in the lockerroom from his teammates too. That can't be a good thing.
  16. If that injury is from last year, and it is still bothering him, I don't give the Bills too much credit for throwing that much money around to a broken product. Is it supposed to be the same injury that knocked him out for 75% of the season last year? If not, when did he get hurt? Watching TV or deer hunting. The guy takes that much money, comes in acting like a savior and puts his name on a box of cereal before he makes a tackle, has to expect the criticsm. I still am holding out hope that he will at least earn a little part of that monster contract, but it kinda rubs people the wrong way that after each of the embarrassing divisional blowouts, he has had an excuse for being invisible, either illegal play from a journeyman O-Lineman or a pinky injury? Is he a football player or a not so pretty Victoria Secret model?
  17. All QBs have bad passes, no doubt, but not every other pass like Fitz does.
  18. I might be wrong, but until this year he hasn't been a defensive coordinator in the NFL since 1999 in Miami?
  19. They would probably make him a backup where he belongs. Thay may be the case on some occasions but not all, or close to all. How is it play calling when you have a TE 15-20 yards down the field and Fitz throws it in the turf 3 yards in front of the receiver? Or you have a receiver wide open and he throws it to the defender like he is color blind?
  20. I totally agree with your post with the exception of the last sentence. I still will put myself through the misery of watching the Bills every sunday, why? I don't know-why does a bird fly out in the rain when he knows he is going to get wet? But the rest of your post is not only spot on, it is quite obvious to anyone with common sense.
  21. This past weekend I think he was at a private party somewhere with the rest of the defensive line. In all fairness, he has been much more visible, and had his name called for making plays quite a bit more then Mario Williams has. Whether that is because Mario is getting double-teamed, maybe, but not all the time.
  22. They weren't just two games we got blown out, they were two divisional games we got blown out, and one of them was against a team that isn't very good in the Jets. Never gonna do anything successful if you can't win in the division since almost half of your games are against them. They are 2-12 under Gailey in the division, that is pitiful, especially considering how bad MIami has been the majority of Gailey's tenure here.
  23. Romo has his faults for sure, but he is 10X the QB that Fitz will ever be, that is as clear as the Bills are 2-2.
  24. Them being 5th in the league in scoring as at least in part to do with all the garbage time scores and stats.
  25. it is the Bills cycle over and over. They hired Mularkey, Bills Nation was psyched we finally have a good coach that will turn this around-gone after a couple seasons. Jauron comes in-here we go again-gone after a couple seasons. In comes Chan Gailey-now we have a quarterback and offensive genius, things are gonna turn around. Ralph finally spends money-Gailey gone after a couple years because his results are not better, in fact, not as good as the past couple coaches. Who's next, probably won't matter anyway for the Bills Cycle.
