  1. I agree in that resting them would be good, but to just wave the white flag would be ridiculous. Look at the standings, no game is really a "major" upset. Minnesota beat the 49ers, Raiders beat Pittsburgh. Who would have predicated the Cardinals come out like they did after being the laughing stock of the NFL during training camp because of their QB situation, then lose their starter in week one. Winning any game is possible, some tougher then others, but possible, especially divisional games.
  2. if we don't have either of them, I think the only chance we have is if the D-Line is in Brady's face more than he has ever seen in his life. I don't trust our cornerbacks at this point, they are both young, make good plays once in awhile but have gotten burned far too often in the first 3 games. Also, if Fitz doesn't get better accuracy, it will be a mute point, we won't stand a chance. Against a team like New England you have to capitalize on almost every opportunity to score, unlike against the Chiefs or Browns you can throw passes into the ground, over heads, etc and get away with it because they have QBs playing at Fitz's level not at Brady's level and our defense can make up the difference.
  3. It seems to me that using the Wildcat is supposed to help plays develop quicker and cut out the middle man (the QB), but on this team seems like they take longer to develop then the regular plays with Fitz in there? Not to mention, you can pretty much know ahead of time where the ball is going with the Bills' Wildcat offense. Gailey likes Thigpen because he has a history with him in K.C., which is the same reason they brought in Merriman (Nix Connection) and Choice (Gailey connection at GA Tech).
  4. That is because the less Fitz throws the less game changing interceptions he throws.
  5. I don't doubt he did what you said, but unless you were on the sidelines you can see that stuff better on TV most of the time.
  6. So was Ruvell Martin, so is Shawn Merriman, and many, many others. Wait until injuries start happening. Smith is the highest paid 5th or 6th receiver in the NFL, since he has shown that is the only position he can even be average in. He is terrible returning kicks, he has never once, ran anywhere but straight ahead until the first guy hits him. 9 out of 10 Wildcat plays with him are either no gains or losses. He has one pass attempt as a Buffalo Bill and that was a pathetically thrown ball that was intercepted.
  7. Are you for real? Why are so many people on here defending this guy, because he told his side of the story on an NFL Network show? If he wasn't implicated in the murder, why did he plea bargain down to an Obstruction of Justice charge, and get sentenced to 12 months probation-the max the judge could give him? If he wasn't implicated why did he make a monetary settlements with members of both families of the murdered victims? If he wasn't implicated why did he receive the largest non-drug related fine from the NFL ever? The white suit he was wearing that night has never been found (trashed to hide evidence most likely). COULD have been implicated? Really? Quit drinking the Ray Ray Kool-Aid. Is he one of the greatest linebackers ever, hell yes. Did he get away with something because of his money most likely after being implicated-only a fool would say no.
  8. One might disagree with you, and not talking about my opinion of Ray Lewis. It is my opinion, and only my opinion that the Bills literally sucked against the Jets and that they were literally much improved against the Chiefs. Just my opinion.
  9. Is Roosevelt a game changing big play player? No, but in the few games he was on the active roster he made twice as many big plays as Smith has.
  10. Yea, I don't buy the Hagan theory for even a fraction of a second. They never signed him. Why would he give info to a team that didn't even offer him a contract. I can give a few more reasons why the Jets beat the Bills so bad, yet they were able to come back and perform against the Chiefs-all more likely reasons then the Hagan is pissed at the Bills theory. 1. As much as Bills fans on here don't like him, Big Mouth out coached Chan Gailey and his staff. Better game plan. 2. Against the Chiefs, the large amount of terrible passes thrown by Fitz, were hitting the ground, whereas against the Jets they were hitting defenders in the hands. 3. Mark Sanchez (as much as people on here hate him), played maybe the best game of his career, meanwhile Cassel pretty much sucked. 4. Against the Jets our special teams gave up a big return. Against the Chiefs our special teams got the big return. 5. And maybe the most important difference: Against the Jets we had 4 turnovers and the Jets had one. Against the Chiefs we had ZERO turnovers and the Chiefs had 3.
  11. Naaman Roosevelt
  12. Was it the best game of his career, probably not, but majorly improved. I really think one way that you will know when Mario is having a good game and getting doubled on almost every play is when you hear Mark Anderson or Chris Kelsay's name frequently being called on the other side, just like they were against K.C.
  13. I don't. He threw one pass in 2011, had one interception and an amazing 100% interception rate-don't think I have seen that in a stat line before.
  14. I think they are also showing it on the Crime Channel. Those Football life series are all pretty good, haven't seen the one on Ray Lewis but have seen most of the others and they were good. The first one they did on an active player was Tim Tebow. Go Figure. The ones on Al Davis and Reggie White/Jerome Brown were really good, as was the Kurt Warner one.
  15. That makes the fight at the Ralph look like Tiddly Winks.
  16. I had my eyes open and i don't drink, but apparently you do-"Amazing"?????????
  17. Is it safe? I certainly hope nobody beats you up for saying it so it should be safe.. Is it realistic? Not yet, not even close. Were we one of the best last year? We led the league in fewest sacks, but is that a product of the offense? There is more to being a great line then not allowing sacks, it is pass blocking, run blocking, etc. Only time will tell, but it is too early for sure. Let's face San Fran in a few weeks.
  18. Without those videos the NFL would never have been as popular. Who would have thought his father Ed would have out lived him, especially after watching the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies last summer. I didn't realize he was fighting brain cancer but that would explain him being bald in Canton. RIP. What a broadcast legend.
  19. Reminds me of the first game I ever went to at Rich Stadium, what a memorable day. 16 October 1977, the Bills got their first win of the year and beat the Falcons 3-0 when Neil O'Donoghue made 1 of 3 field goals and was cut right after the game (first ever to kick a game winner and get cut). O.J. got his 10,000 yard I believe. The stadium, or at least the section we were in wasn't very full and there were 3 pretty big (300+ lbs) guys about 5 or 6 rows behind us and nobody in between. A skinny guy with glasses, looked right he was right out of revenge of the nerds, walked up to them with three large beers (even back then they weren't cheap), and when he approached them to give them the beers, one of these huge dude stood up and punched this guy right in the face. The guy tumbled about 5 rows, his glasses ended up under my feet and I sat there wondering if I ever wanted to come back here again. Of course I did, I went the very next week when they lost to the Browns, but Keith Moody had the team record punt return (91 yards) that McFumble came close to matching this past weekend.
  20. Those are probably the same girls, it has been 30 years. Whenever you see fight like this there always has to be one big mouth lady whose shrieking voice makes you cringe.
  21. What did we ever do without cell phones? It sure would have been better if they turned their phone sideways though. At least they waited until half-time to scuffle (you could see the band on the field). Go Bills.
  22. I couldn't care less about what money he makes, why is he on this roster? What has he done in 18 games now? Nothing memorable to me and I have seen every snap of every game. He loses yardage more often then he gains any yards. The couple times he has thrown he makes Trent Edwards look like Joe Montana. The only thing he has done halfway decent since he was signed was when he filled in as receiver, and when he does that he can't stay healthy. I would rather see them fill that roster spot with Naaman Roosevelt or someone who can contribute on gameday. Your post is quite accurate, sadly though those armchair GM's are proving to be far more correct then any of the above individuals you listed. Nice try though. Now come on, every once in awhile he keeps it himself or a 2-4 yard loss or at best no gain. Give the guy a break.
  23. You are correct if they have a 2 foot tall receiver who was 5 yards closer to the line of scrimmage then Chandler was on that first throw. The week before all his terrible passes were receiver height to a different part of the field, unfortuneatly there were Jets in that different part of the field. So does that mean he is making progress?
  24. I boo'd from my recliner down in Virginia too, and it was deserving, especially if you watched the game against the Jets, and for that matter the last 9 games of last season. That first pass was so terrible, maybe one of the worst in NFL History, and with the fans still reeling from last weekend, the boos were going to come, so you probably need to get used to it. We have a backup at best, starting at the most important position on the team, and with all the young talent, the off season additions coupled with the years of disappointment, it is quite disheartening. And if that works I am going to 7-11 and boo them so they sell me a winning lottery ticket. You can polish a turd but it is always going to be a turd.
  25. I agree, it is so predictable. And why is Brad Smith employed by the Bills? What does he bring to the team that they don't already have?
