Ertz is 29. He does turn 30 next month, but then Kelce is 31 and just received a large contract extension.

Realistic Trade Scenario- One player

He’s temporarily injured, but Zack Ertz. Philly will be $70 mil. over next year, and they have the younger version in Croom and Butler. -
New Injuries: Ford, Lewis, Dodson

I thought Sal said he has to come back by the 26th (Monday) or can’t come back this year. He has a 21 day window is what I thought he said, but happy for any clarification. Given he’s been practicing, they probably will activate him for the Pats game. -

The Official Bring Fitzpatrick Home Thread

I don’t see Miami getting rid of him as he is one of the best backups in the league, but yes, he would be great if we could get him. I’d be willing him to lose Barkley and throw Fromm stowed away on the PS. I doubt it, and I wouldn’t want to hear anyone calling to put him in over Allen as that is silly. Just an insurance if Allen gets hurt. I don’t think anything happens from this move other than some hurt feelings from Fitz. He did say publicly he was supportive so I don’t know. I truly hope he comes back to Buffalo post career or during the end of his career. Regardless, he’s loved in Buffalo. -
Quinton Spain released; signs with Bengals PS

This is comical. He played poorly, most likely had an attitude, and he was cut. Slater. -
It doesn’t make sense in yes, they have a bye, but then the Rams, and Cardinals. Fitz is better adept at reading a Rams defense which we saw was good. Now after those two games they have the Chargers, Broncos, Jests, and Bengals. Why not let the kid play some manageable teams, may win or lose, and only put him in if Fitzy loses to the Rams and Cardinals. He would still face the Chiefs, Patriots, Raiders and us. That will be hard enough, but he’d have his sea legs with aforementioned teams.

Trevor Lawrence Advised to Avoid Jets

Good fact check. I don’t know, when Gase is gone, Douglas might find a good coach. If I were Douglas, I’d go after Bieniemy in KC. He’s solid and been taught by Reid. I’m not sure why someone said Cincy. They have Burrow and he is sharp, just plays on a bad team. White is a blowhard. His opinion means nothing. -
ROCKPILE REVIEW - Evolution
machine gun kelly replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shaw, thanks for you’re review, and always appreciate a real Bills fan. Hopefully we’ll have fun crushing the Jests. -
We lost. Let’s move on. If we made the 50/50 2pt. Conversion then 23-18 and then we would have to do it again and what if they made a TD vs. a FG. These are endless discussions. We lost. As the indelible BB said, it’s onto Cincinatti. In our case, it’s onto the Jests.

Sad part is Dak gambled and lost. He had $175 mil. over 5 years and was greedy. Now, he has a terrible injury, and hopefully gets back to health, but who knows if Jerrah wants that deal now. I like the guy and he is an unsung hero as he has tremendous stats. He wasn’t the reason they didn’t make the playoffs.

I don’t know why they don’t wait til Fitz loses to put Tua in for the rest of the year. Lose two and Tua’s you’re man. Fitz keeps winning and just keep him in there. I’m happy for Tua, but why go up on you’re first start to the Rams. They are a legitimate playoff team, potentially a wildcard to Seattle’s division winner. KC did Mahomes a favor by holding off until close to the end of the year.

I don’t see the Jests as a huge game. We need to have on the bench Edmunds, White, Milano, and Brown. They can be active, but emergencies. We need to beat the 0-6 Jests without them, and have them really healthy for the Pats and Hawks. We can be 5-2 without them, but have them n their game to at least be 7-3 after those two teams. My hope as always is we are 8-2. The Hawks are scary on offense. The Pats are going to try and run it down our throat. Expect it. Michel is on IR which doesn’t help them.

I still wonder since the Eagles season is almost over if something could be done for Ertz. I know we only have $3.3 mil., but as Kirwan says on NFLR or Ross Tucker, they can always find $ if need be. Last night was poor execution on the defense, but a good plan, but the offense needed to be better. If we had a great pass catching TE, that could help underneath. Look at Kelce. He’s 31 and crushing it. Id love to have that TE like a Kittle. As far as this week, I say sit White, Edmunds, Milano, and Brown as there is no way we are losing to the Jests. The Pats is the game we need all of these guys. Think about that the Jests did not get a 1st down until almost the end of the 4th Quarter against the Fins. I’m not saying inactive, just have them sit and only be there for an emergency. Otherwise they get two weeks to get right, and maybe Edmunds needs this week to get his pec right as well as Milano, Brown’s leg, White’s back. We have to have all these guys right for the Cheats and then Seattle the next week. -

Well, according to Spotrac, we have $3.3 mil. cap space in 2020, and our cap spend currently has $177,093,000 so they are saying we have $1,428,000 next year. If we hit the floor of $175 mil. which is likely, then we are over by $2,000, 093. Having said that, there are a lot of salaries that can be shed in the 2021 off season. Now the good news, the following teams are significantly over the cap for 2021 so they are going to be looking for draft picks yet we want to keep as many as possible too. New Orleans Philly Atlanta Rams Steelers Chiefs Texans All are anywhere from -$13 mil. for the Texans up to -$81 mil. for the Saints. These are teams you want to see who they purge to jump on and make offers, to potential trades if we feel it is a Diggs type trade (not in # of picks, but you know he’s plug and play as he that good). There is a lot of talent on those teams, and I’ll dig in after the year ends to see what talent is on their last year etc. -
How happy are the AFCN, and NFCW teams they drew the NFCE to play this year. That will pad you’re stats.

Not crazy about the sulking, but the game was over and players can get frustrated. They are human beings, and I remember losing a couple of games in my day playing and coaching. It’s hard to put on a good face when you know it’s over. In some way, the fact that the loss meant so much to him he was that upset tells me he really wanted to eat the Chiefs, and tried his best to make that happen. It was tough coaching kids and staying positive on a game plan you worked on all week, and to see the dejected look in the boys faces, a and trying to keep positive with them, then having to give you’re post game speech trying to find positives in a bad loss. Im not going to bang on Diggs for that point. I was just listening to Sal in his 7 am spot the other day, and he commented how thoughtful, positive, and engaging he is with the media. He also said he noticed the comradery between Allen and Diggs.

Beane needs to get on the telephone
machine gun kelly replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No $ is getting taken off the books this year as these players were signed and were on the active roster on game 1. You have to pick up someone after the first game and then cut them if they don’t work out to not have to cut space. As far as Hughes, and Murphy, I don’t think they are in our plans after this year, and Butler and Addison are stop gaps for the next two years as we would have overpaid for J. Phillips, and Shaq. They are doing the best they can with what they have and we have no idea if Beane is calling every week of the season. The notion he is just sitting back is ridiculous. These are knee jerk reactions to losing to the two AFC Championship teams. I thought we could beat the Titans given they have given up a lot of points to other teams. That was a heartbreaking loss. I was hopeful, but not expecting to win against the SB Champs. Horrible Harry Phillips. -
This year we should make the playoffs again for a third time in four years, shedded bad contracts and players, and have changed the culture of the team. I remember you liking McD in the past. We just had two bad losses. It’s doesn’t mean we are falling apart, and I don’t share you’re thoughts the Pats will shred us. I’m not saying it’s a lock, we win, but I don’t subscribe to we will get killed by the Pats. They just lost to the back up QB for the Broncos. My take is similar to what someone else stated we just lost to the two teams in the AFCC game last year. Tennessee beat the Patriots and Ravens last year and that was with Brady. The Ravens had the MVP of the league. You beat me to it Thurmon. This blitzing strategy is what the Chiefs want and torch their opponents. The Chargers almost beat the Chiefs because they coached a game like McD.

Steve, the Rams and now Miami are proving they are not garbage teams, nor are the Raiders. Virgil, spot on as always. I believe in Josh, and he’ll get his mojo back against the Jests. Then we should be playing with confidence against the Pats. The sky is falling by some is just not smart, and proves they don’t know football. There is a reason only two teams have gone undefeated in the regular season since the merger.

Week 6 Postgame Thread KC at Bills
machine gun kelly replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said before the season when we made predictions we would take the East, and go 10-6 to 11-5. Look at the rest of the schedule and it’s very plausible and as Ross Tucker said on WGR, he thought this should happen and most likely win one of the playoff games, but not ready for the SB yet. I agree this is about where we are as a team, but it is also depending on injuries, who, and when they happen. There is a growing group of posters who all sound very similar who have an agenda to bash the Bills just to tick off others who are Bills fans. I don’t care as those people I just don’t read their posts. Disappointing night, but it’s not like everyone was so confident we were going to win. We hoped the Bills would win, but I wasn’t counting on it. That’s silly. These are the SB champs. The Raiders were built to beat KC, and so are the Titans. They pound the ball right at you, and have a powerful defensive line on both teams. I still contend we will get this worked out and very likely we win the next two. Seattle is the next huge test for us. Their defense may not be playing well, but their offense looks unstoppable. -
