Upthread I spoke about my vaccine. A day after the second vaccine, I did not feel well and found I had a fever of 99.5. Went to bed and felt fine with no fever the next day. Found this explanation in NEXSTAR: ‘It’s widely known that the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines tend to come with more side effects than the first, including tiredness, headaches, chills, fever, nausea and muscle pain. Why is that? According to Dr. William B. Greenough III, a professor emeritus at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine who’s known for his work on cholera, there’s a simple explanation for the increase in side effects. With the first dose, your body begins building its initial immune response, including producing antibodies. But with the second shot — a.k.a. the second exposure to the virus — “the big guns” of your immune system react. “Once your immune system recognizes the virus [after the second dose], it’s going to have a greater reaction to it,” Greenough said.‘ https://www.wfla.com/community/health/coronavirus/why-does-the-second-covid-vaccine-shot-have-more-side-effects-than-the-first/

Yep, I qualified for vaccine in TX for two reasons: they were vaccinating my age range and allowed out of state residents. I went through CVS and scheduled 1st shot at a pharmacy in TX near Dallas. DFW is easy to fly to from anywhere. I just got my 2nd yesterday in Ashland VA. The Chickahominy Health District set up a mass vaccination site at a closed Food Lion near us. I just went over there, showed my card, and they hooked me up for the second shot. They are doing Moderna which matched with my first CVS shot.

Actually, Kauai is rescinding their extra travel restrictions because all of their residents have been vaccinated. Kauai will follow the general Hawaii guidelines effective April 5. We arrive April 7 so that works out great.

I was too young in my state (VA) to qualify. So, I searched CVS states and TX allowed my age range & out of state residents. The only state that met that criteria at the end of Feb. Found a CVS outside of Dallas taking appts. Got an inexpensive flight to DFW from RIC in the morning, got the vaccine, headed back to the airport and was back to VA late that afternoon. Because CVS is national, I was able to reschedule my 2nd vaccine for this Monday (22 Mar) at a CVS near me. It was important to me to be vaccinated. We are headed to Kauai in 2 weeks.

You may like ‘Legion of Mary’ a short-lived band with Garcia, Saunders, Kahn, Tutt and Fierro (sax/flute). Search youtube for shows. LoM was my favorite rendition of a Garcia band. Cannot locate the link but interesting side note that a bunch of nuns belonging to the ‘Legion of Mary’ Catholic group mistakenly showed up at a SF show and had a great time.

Has anyone here lived in the same town or state their whole life?

This is not true. I am extremely fortunate for the experiences I have encountered in traveling this wide world due to my jobs. I tried to make sure all were memorable in one way or another. I have been to a few places where there were no dining ‘chains’. All food was at local establishments. These are places I remember specifically because of this and we are actively searching these locations to spend part of the year. These places are international but not remote...but they are expensive. We both speak languages other than English so that helps. -

Yep, got Ancestry kit as a gift from one of my kids last year. Fortunately, nothing surprising surfaced...so far. Though I would not be shocked to be contacted by an unknown offspring.

The account holder has to purchase the tix. However, the account holder does not have to attend the game. But, in that case, one of the attendees must be able to access the acct. -

First world problem...it is a Tesla Y. The nearest dealer was 3 hrs away in Pittsburgh. Correct, a mid-nasal swab is what we received yesterday...not the brain scratcher. -

Kinda crazy story. Season ticket holder in VA that had enough priority to snag 2 tix. My wife and I left VA ~8 am yesterday morning for our C19 at the stadium at 7 pm Thurs night. New car (< 2k miles) ran into an issue in Phillipsburg PA (~2 pm) and we pulled into a Sheetz. That was it for the car...not going anywhere after troubleshooting with their tech dept. Called a dealer but 2-3 hrs for tow. Spoke with the tow company and worked out where I would hide key until they could arrive since waiting for them would result in missing the test. Meanwhile, my wife is calling rental car companies. Most did not have any but finally found one at State College airport about 25 miles away in wrong direction to Orchard Park. There were no rental cars anywhere closer. But getting there would be an issue. Phillipsburg is a small town and no Uber/Lyft/taxi. So we started asking Sheetz customers outside parking their cars offering $ for transport. Encountered some squirrely characters but finally found some kind fellow who would. Moved all of our items from our car into his somewhat older vehicle and were off to the airport. A very mellow nice guy and when we got to the airport he refused my $ and I tried hard to make him take it but he asked for us ‘to pay it forward’ which we will certainly do many times. We got on the road and GPS indicated our arrival at 7:25 pm. I did my best Andretti impersonation on 219 non-highway sections passing trucks which led to several gasps from my wife. Ended up arriving at 7:10 and were able to get our tests. Immediately went over to O’Neills for some drinks. -

Aight....who's got tickets?
Mr Info replied to The Firebaugh Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was not too pleased with this either as I live in VA but I am working remotely during the pandemic so I can work while in WNY. I was able to procure 2 tix due to seniority. Always enjoy returning to Buffalo so will find some good eats & things to do even during pandemic impact. I have parents & sisters in the area so can stay with them. -
I can share what is related to this in the FAQ. Tickets will be limited to one pod per Season Ticket Account. The person who makes the purchase of the ticket pod will be responsible for coordinating all ticket holders within the pod, since the ticket scanning process for entry will be done via the ticket purchaser's mobile device. The person who makes the purchase of the ticket pod will be required to provide the legal name as it appears on government issued identification, email address and certain contact information (e.g., date of birth; mobile number) for all members of their ticketed pod as part of the testing process. Tickets will only be accessible through the Season Ticket Member's account of the ticket purchaser. With ticket forwarding not permitted, ticket pods will need to come to the gate together at their designated time. Parking passes will be provided to the person who makes the purchase of the ticket pod.

In VA as well. Guy checked with state & local ordinances before doing it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wric.com/news/virginia-news/virginia-man-uses-flamethrower-to-clear-driveway-of-snow/amp/
