  1. ahh there it is... missed it
  2. Not sure if it was already mentioned but was just thinking about the Lions and their organization's hospitality toward the Bills during the snow storm. Well karma has certainly rewarded them for it as the Bills unexpectedly beat Green Bay, creating a tie atop the NFC North. Thanks again Lions and you're welcome! LOL. I'll be rooting for them.
  3. That's irrelevant to why I mentioned it though. I was explaining why the strategy was/is employed at times in football at all levels. If GB overloaded vs the formation you have to be able to make them pay by an audible check out of the run play to an outside throw. If Orton failed to make that judgement call shame on him.
  4. Might want to re-check your math there
  5. Thats not a bad idea. Some teams have implemented the unbalanced line across the league,NE included. Multiple TE's also draws defenses away from those double A-gap blitzes our team is suspect with more-so than unbalanced lines because they are forced to cover, but yeah not a bad idea at all.
  6. It's generally more of a pass protection and/or edge blocking and alignment balance (keeping opponent honest) issue that often"forces" a lot of teams to utilize the multiple TE sets. Ask an offensive-minded coach about it sometime if you know any. It's not the simple cut and dry thing that most think it is. I have a little bit of experience with it myself but only on the youth football coaching level.
  7. which just adds to the age old and TRUE point that it's a players league.
  8. It would render the entire Pro Bowl player and coach vote meaningless as only Watt could possibly be debated as being superior to Mario (as DE's go in the league). With that said, I think he'll get elected.
  9. It's an internet message board. I often forget this too myself and get really frustrated for no reason
  10. Out of that list I'd take a stab with Foles or Bradford. That's about it
  11. It's so nice that we as fans now have the All 22 as a reference but it still goes to show you can have all the film you want but it still takes a special skill and training to be able to properly evaluate what you see on film. PFF is a nice alternate look at things (kinda like Qb rating and QBR), but should not be mistaken for being factually complete.
  12. Even with the better arm, I wouldn't take Cutler over the status quo... I wish that I didn't feel this way but he is too mistake prone, undisciplined and not a leader.
  13. We've been here before .... Mario not showing up as the best Defensive player on the Bills means there's a long way to go yet before PFF's analysis can be taken with anything but a grain of salt. They simply don't have a way to remotely determine how a player that is not directly involved with a tackle or pick or sack can greatly affect the outcome of a play. Mario has both numbers AND play that cannot be quantified that way and still doesnt show up here for PFF? Massively flawed.
  14. It's so true.... They ALL (rochester media included now) think they are right about the 4th down calls throughout the year too... They now talk about it like an after thought. They have no idea all the factors that go into those decisions. NO IDEA
  15. Funny how it seemed like all of the media (even x players) were on the Johnny train until hindsight came available
  16. The "neutering from coaches" that you guys keep referring to is the opponent taking away their comfort zones for the most part.
  17. 7 in the box is the norm
  18. Jim Kelly and Polian agree with Russ FWIW
  19. yes , it is/ Ruben and Orton are GOOD GOOD buddies... Just one thing to consider. Orton is not an accurate passer regardless of gameplan. Orton is currently better than EJ but I don't think the gap is too broad. This team is a good QB away. We have one "decent" QB and one prospect. Until that changes to something better people are going to come up with 100 reasons why we're not where we want to be.
  20. Rodgers and the Pack won the superbowl in '11 with one of the worst offensive lines in playoff history
  21. I think folks can see by now he's a stud DC and a crap HC.... Big difference in the 2 jobs. Plus he's having an absolute blast here from what it looks like. Plus I think Pegula would be willing to up the ante if necessary.
  22. No way Schwartz leaves this....not gonna happen
