  1. "So then why was he traded for? And why was Bryce Brown traded for? Is the failure on the pro personnel evaluation side, or the coaching/utilization of assets side?" a 6th rounder is a flyer, and Doug knew him from SU. You've got to swing in this leaqgue in order to get a hit, but the batting percentage is never going to be 1000%. Bryce Brown has plenty of talent. I have no issues with him other than his fumble in the KC game.
  2. LOL I thought the same. It was a nice try though... The odds are certainly against EJ ever becoming a QB with that "twitch" that makes it all work but he's not finished to RG3's level. He's a bright kid and working his ass off.
  3. Pretty sure the "on the field" portion of why MW isn't getting playing time has to do with his route running versatility (or lack thereof). I don't try to speculate about the "off the field" portion. We can think these coaches/gm are all clowns who don't know how to rate their own players til the cows come home but it's just not the case (for ANY team not just the Bills) in the NFL. Just like the player talent level amongst the 32 teams, the knowledge and coaching abilities of NFL staffs are much the same with only minor differences in levels of competence. Do these guys make mistakes? Sure they do...But rest assured if MW was good enough (as a complete WR) to get more playing time, he would get it eventually.
  4. Glad to see the recognition, his play has been off the charts.
  5. Exactly, and Petine also noted that in their film e v a l it was clear the Bills were playing more of a base D with lots of backup players. Another Fact. This JF thing has overcome even some of the most reasonable football fans. I wish I had more disposable income cuz I'd lay down good money that the guy will never amount to anything significant as an NFL QB. Watch out kids! It's another scramble bomb to Mike Evans!
  6. I would agree but my point in there (maybe I wasn't clear enough) is that they didn't know at the time that Urbick was better.... And they liked what they were seeing from the new kid in practice and gave him a shot.... thinking he was on the same level as Urbick. Then that didn't pan out.
  7. when there is no #2 option at Center and (at the time) you feel you have another player who may be on equal ground with your only back up option, I can certainly see why ANY team would do it that way. Thus the real issue is that Richardson didnt develop on the fly the way they had hoped. Center can be argued to be the 2nd most crucial position on an offense, with the line calls and adjustments involved and such. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this. JMO
  8. Pretty sure it is ... can't be 100% certain though Early on in the process ( the line starting to struggle after game 2 or so) this was a factor mentioned by both Marrone and Chris Brown. Then it appeared they wanted to give Richardson some time in there to see if he could develop at least to a serviceable level, and then that failed. Maybe some indecision followed that until the move was finally made. The delay may have been also affected by the fact that Urbick is not Doug's "guy"/
  9. Urbick was on the bench because he is the only Lineman not named Wood with experience at Center. The team finally apparently decided the risk was worth it (once the young guys clearly werent advancing quick enough) and put him in at G. Not saying the timing was good or poor, just stating the reason.
  10. THIS ^^^^ All I will add (not saying this is your opinion KTG) is that the lack of going for it earlier in certain games was not the "no brainer" that fans and football math guys believe it to be. There are 2 to 3 obvious variables we all can look at in these situations, and there are always a number of other variables that we don't know about or think about (injuries, no push at guard, etc. etc.)
  11. Yeah it's espn radio but once 3:00 rolls around it's local and Bills oriented even though it's still "ESPN Radio"... Just want to clarify in case others want to check it out. To me anything is better than the WGR option from 3 to 6 (or 7 as it were)
  12. I think ON the Eagles - OF COURSE his talents would be better served. They have a mobile, fast break O-line that blocks well for the spread and hopes to get to you with their conditioning level. the Eagles HC on the Bills however would have the same tribulations as we do. And No I don't think you gear your entire plan for a guy like CJ (I am one of his biggest fans) when he has already shown to be a part time back, even as explosive as he is.
  13. 95.7 FM in rochester seems to have slightly more reasonable discussions and a heavy Bills focus.... Worth a try. I just noticed they were on the air about a month ago.
  14. It's not that simple. And this response isn't just for you it's also for all 'madden fans' who think their game equates to real football. The spread can't work here right now because of protection issues, and the depth of routes and release points in our passing game. You also can't run to the edge when the edge cannot be sealed. This is also (protection) why we are seeing multiple TE's in the passing sets. It's not because they think they are outsmarting someone or misusing talent. The run blocking needs an upgrade (some due to talent, some due to continuity of the Line itself) for any style of back to succeed right now in the offense. Has so very little to do with them not "just getting Spiller out in space".... which is a concept I would equate with "just go out hook up with that supermodel" ... Not too realistic.
  15. As much as I have loved the play making of Searcy, Robey and the like (a credit to them) they are not covering #1 and #2 wideouts in most situations throughout a game.
  16. the problem lies in thinking PFF's determinations were not lacking from the get go.
  17. That alone makes PFF a joke... Along with calling Eric Wood one of the lowest-end starters at center. More than a couple GM's have him ranked pretty high and have spoken about it.
  18. Not everyone buddy , but yeah most
  19. fixed for Sal Mario vs.the run is the overlooked gem of his game that makes him the 2nd best complete D-lineman in football.
  20. LMAO - so true of the typical TBD logic
  21. Refs missed a bunch of holds and false starts by the Jets O-line
  22. Yep that's correct and then they did it 2 more times even and didn't call it. But they didn't call the holds... Blatant holds on our rushers. That's gonna be costly if they don't start calling it. (really it already has been to a point)
  23. Agreed, blatantly obvious... Why don't they call these??? I just don't get it. " ah well the Bills D line is just too good. Hold off on the flags guys" It's gonna hurt us (and has already)
