  1. The sky is falling!!! The sky is falling!!!!
  2. Those O-linemen you see dominating week in /week out for Pitt were mostly acquired by TD.
  3. Good analysis. I would agree.
  4. 1) Agreed, but more because he didn't have the NAD to do something about Gilbride and his run&shoot offensive offense. Probably set back more like 2 years. 2) Bledsoe was a very good move AT THE TIME. The other option would have been Jeff Blake, yipee!!! 3) No longer overweight, no longer out of shape, he's at the weight the strength and conditioning coaches want him at. Agreed he hasn't been spectacular but comparing him to BM, who is swiss cheese against speed rushers, has given up more sacks, and is equally maligned by Vikes fans is not a particularly great arguement. 4) Agreed Denney is not starting material, but is quite serviceable in situations and is not your Erik Flowers "bust" type. 5) Posey is unspectacualr, but really didn't cost much at all. No point made here.... 6 - (some good things)) Kept Moulds over Wiley. Jennings and Henry and Clements all good value picks. Brain Moorman. Mcgee. The risk he took on McGahee. Stealing a #1 for Price. Evans. Losman (we'll see). Takeo, Fletcher, Milloy. Schoebel (don't forget his outing vs. the Best tackle in football). Sam Adams. Kelsay looking good....
  5. I think Drew has played quite well in 5 games this year, but Sunday night I felt there was no excuse for his poor play. Sure he had pressure at times, but nothing that compares to the type of pressure he was seeing against Oakland earlier this year, and all of last year. Drew pressed on Sunday and was inaccurate because of it. He also threw a pass right to Troy Brown which was extremely embarassing (I'm sure for him too). I really can't defend his play the other night, but I still think he'll play well at home (for what it's worth)...
  6. Lol Thanks for playing. There's a nice parting gift awaiting you in the lobby....
  7. Shhhhh AKC, they might run you off a cliff as a witch or something if you don't agree that the entire team and staff sucks because of one game's performance. . Although I do think Brady is a little better than you credit him for (but that's another story)...
  8. BTW, for our daily double, does anybody remember who started the Lynch Mob Mentality in Buffalo?????
  9. Peter, don't worry too much about Bills fans. For every Lynch Mobber here on TSW, I know equally as many fans that are level headed, support the team, and don't actually think every comment from OBD is some slanted spin. Many of those fans refuse to post here or are simply not the message board types, but you will find them sitting at the Ralph on most sundays.
  10. As few wins as they were, there is really no way to "smoke and mirror" physically dominating an opponent , possessing the ball for @ 60% of the time and running out the clock on the ground.
  11. I believe your memories of the old 2-14 back to back years have, let's just say, fogged a little. We almost NEVER showed up or even resembled an NFL football team then. This year the team has "showed up" and been competetive in all but 2 games. Still unacceptable, yes, but not nearly a parallel to the mid eighties.
  12. Darin, I must also commend your voice of reason in this thread. some very good points you bring up. I also like the fact that most of your points aren't made up of: ______ sucks, or _______ is a fool, just because!
  13. I think the max protect approach is still a good idea for a young qb getting his feet wet. Give him one or two reads down field and a possible outlet route underneath with a back and you give him a good chance to succeed. The mobility should allow for a rolling pocket to mask some inefficiencies of the O-line. Of course a steady dose of running plays doesn't hurt either. It really depends on the personnell you keep, and right now we are better with 2 WR's on the field than 3 or 4, so we might as well utilize an extra TE or keep the FB in.
  14. As far as last night's game is concerned atleast, I gotta agree with this completely.
  15. The answers to # 5 and #6 are that for whatever reason, that team is deeply in the heads of our players, and has been since Drew came over. It's almost like a disease , or a curse, I'm not sure which is better. Look NE is a very good team, but their players are not so good that we should be getting embarassed like we do against them. It seems that we atleast show up against every other team in the league....
  16. I voted for SB XXVII . I don't thinbk option #1 even happened (7 sacks by DT) but it was indeed an embarassing game.
  17. The key of course, even in the glory days, is having that primetime game at HOME.
  18. I only wish this were the reason Drew played so poorly last night Nick but it's not true. They protected Drew extremely well considering the circumstances and the D they were facing last night and he still played his absolute worst game ever! Now if you want to talk about the O-line playing poorly last night, lets talk about their run blocking efforts....
  19. Atleast the D has adjusted in the 2nd half. The O is just as putrid as the 1st. This is most sad because while the Patriots are a great team, they just seem to be far too deep into the heads of our players, as if they are doing magic tricks on the field and we are just watvching in awe. SAD!
  20. Sad isn't it?
  21. That one was embarassing....
  22. My point was pretty much that neither is going to work. Sorry on the Posey reference. I thought you were refering to 3rd downs.
  23. Actually no that was a shoulder. Stop whining , your team is going to win easily.
  24. Ok explain to me please how that was PI? Your team is far superior, and the last thing they need is help from the god damn refs!
