  1. Once you pull your head out of the pre-free agency period you might realize that good players who play to the scheme are what gets it done these days and not impossible pro-bowl laden rosters, which no longer exist.
  2. The Pick you again refer to was garnered in a magician-like high stakes swindling that TD pulled for Peerless Price, a guy who wanted out to be a "#1" WR (oops!) and should have walked for nothing. Ya gotta almost feel bad for Arthur Blank. It was a free pick and TD grabbed his nuts and took a chance.
  3. Ok Ok, well we just disagree with you mmmmmkay?
  4. It's somehow not surprising that a TEAM comparison to '87 has turned yet again into a Qb debate
  5. Miami is the perfect speedy yet smallish defense for Willis to get 150+ against. We just have to get up on them early.
  6. Well yes, ultimately it would come down to that. Who knows though, it's worth trying.
  7. Ice, have you been hanging out with Mark Weiler a lot lately?
  8. Bingo!
  9. exactly.... And if ANYONE honestly could tell Jimbo was bound for the Hall in '87 you belong on a scouting team because although he brought "it", he was still quite erratic at times.
  10. I guess the analogy is more to the team, not any one individual. It's the same feeling that I had in '87. I sure as hell wasn't so confident about the HOF career of Jimbo at that point anyway.
  11. Dude , you're just not watching are you? ( I guess rightfully so because the Pats were on at the same time.) BTW the overall under 4.0 ypc average ALSO comes from many factors that don't have anything to do with Willis himself, as I would think you know already.
  12. I like the 1987 analogy! Fits like a glove...
  13. Classic football in the snow at Mile High! A beautiful thing...

  15. Willis says Hi Hollywood!
  16. 5 game balls for the starting 5 O-linemen! They gave up only 1 sack on the road against a good defense that did blitz alot! Also paved the way for 116 by Willis.
  17. I feel so bad for the guy. He has taken his role on this team like a man and has been supportive the whole way this season. Hopefully he gets back in time to show something but I doubt it. If this is it for TH as a Bill, I've got nothing but good wishes for his future on another team. That said, he is still under contract next year
  18. Interesting.... Anyone see the Ram defender "cutting" Willis in that picture? LOL
  19. I agree on 2 through 6. For #1 I'd say probably top 10 but not quite top 5....
  20. Simon, you are correct in that PW hasn't "stood out" as much this season as in past years. At times it almost seems as if in taking the leash off of SA, they have assigned PW as more of the plugger, while SA disrupts the backfield. I'd almost say at times it's like they are running, in a scheme sense, a 3-4, where PW is the Nose Tackle and SA is a Blitzer or 4th Linebacker if you will. I agree also that at times the quick penetration will create gaps that shouldn't occur in this defense (ie. the SA sideline incident). I'd bet that the coaches were pissed at him for losing inside lane responsibility during that heated moment. He wanted to "show them" that he could rush the passer and play on third down. Funny, I think they both were right .
  21. Ok, I can respect most of that but: 1- Name me that player late in rd. 1 that would have made the impact you speak of. 2- Do you really think the Bills were one player away?
  22. BTW Hollywood, what are your thoughts on Mcgahee? I was just looking at your avatar and was reminded of your earlier comments re: him.
  23. Just for fairness, the Sack on Bledsoe in the Rams game was placed on Chris V.
  24. Well that's just it Bill. When you focus on a player at training camp you get to see what YOU want to see, not the television camera that follows the ball around. There is no comparison between the two perspectives and the information you can gather from them. You get to watch the entire play. You get to see the instruction that goes on in some cases right after the play. You get to see the reaction of the player lining up against him. You get to see the guys work ethic. Most of all you get a real good sense of a guys pure talent level. It's right there for you, and it either stands out or it doesn't. And as an added perspective, when you've been going to training camps for 23 years you have a lot to compare it to both good and bad. You've seen the Ballards, Wolfords, Fina's, Loucheys (gulp), McKenzies, etc.... Unfortunately Big Mike has only begun this season to really show major growth like one would expect of his draft stature, so many are correct in their general concern. But it was this perspective that allowed a true look at the mans talent, and work ethic (family incident not withstanding) to the point where you could feel comfortable that he will become a good one. Take it for what it's worth to you.
  25. As you know already Bill, I have always supported Big Mike's play as a Bill. I've had the advantage of seeing him probably 12 different times at training camp and have seen the potential. Now that he has a real coach, he can reach that potential.
