  1. Cyanide teeth are for pansies, which is why I’m sure they’re standard issue in WEO’s fan club. In my club, it’s full out seppuku. In front of the admin building at One Bills Dr. We were gonna adopt a self-immolation policy, but after all, we aren’t barbarians.
  2. Not from me. I congratulate Ryan O’Reilly on winning the cup and being named MVP. I am also glad he’s no longer on my favorite team. Have been since we traded him. Good a player as he is. He wanted out and needed to go. It wasn’t a healthy situation for anybody concerned.
  3. That’s it. I’ve had enough of McDermott’s “culture” and “process.” He coddles this group of talentless losers when he should be drilling them on fundamentals and installing more schemes. Two hours on the practice field in mid June is the difference between contending or not.
  4. Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s it, too. JBotts simply had no idea O’Reilly was any good at all. He probably thought he got a steal from St. Louis in return, too. Seriously though, if Pegs had insisted on paying that $7.5m bonus BEFORE the trade, it probably would have opened up additional trade opportunities with other teams. Anyway, as good as ROR is, if not for Binnington’s arrival and, more importantly, the naming of Berube as coach, he’d still have been the sulking post game emo he was his first three months in St. Louis when he, once again, was helping his team to a last place position in the standings.
  5. Yep. It was a carefully orchestrated exit.
  6. So, as I understand it, the Bills have personnel that sucks but we will be mad if they suck. Got it.
  7. You missed my sarcasm. Everyone will be disappointed if they aren’t contending. Just as we are every year they aren’t contending. As to what we are waiting for, that’s a personal choice. I’ll be waiting for the next opportunity to contend, just as I do every year. Can’t speak for anyone else.
  8. ROR with the Conn Smythe. LOL! That is such a “Because Buffalo” moment. Gonna be some dented Tim Hortons this summer.
  9. Good point and even better comparison with Wooden and those great UCLA teams. The Pats*** beat everybody, like you said. I think Brady/Bellyache have a losing record vs. one team in the league and that’s because they don’t play Carolina often enough. I simply have to tip my hat at that kind of sustained excellence. Time for a new era indeed.
  10. Winning the division has to be the first goal every year. It sucks for us that we’ve been in a division with the greatest coach and QB of their era, but that still has to be goal one. Every year.
  11. Well, I personally think they are at least two years away. So that’s four. I guess I’m one of them. That’s just being realistic. But instead of insisting on wallowing in the misery of every mistake made in the past, I’ll look forward and judge this administration when their final chapter is written. Whenever that may be.
  12. All depends on the nature of any stagnation or regression. But I’m utterly shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to learn that if they aren’t a Super Bowl contender in 2020 that you’d be disappointed. Seems so out of character for you.
  13. This is great stuff. Glad these guys are pushing each other in practice. You play like you practice and you practice like you’re coached. McD and this staff seem to have these guys on the same page and moving in the right direction. Really looking forward to the camp competitions.
  14. It will be better when he gets that personal letter of apology from the Bills organization.
  15. Your point is obvious, no need to explain. Is anyone actually arguing that this isn’t an important year to show progress? But you can’t trot out the records of previous head coaches and offer them up as some kind of proof source of predictability for McDermott. It just doesn’t work that way.
  16. Your equivocation that none of the major networks would invest in it notwithstanding, perhaps you should read the attached Forbes article on the subject. A short quote from the article: Fox did indeed show interest previously. And you need to revisit your claim about ABC being done with it as well. NBC won the rights in 2011 for 10 years so ABC was in no position to be “done with it” when the last lockout occurred in 2012-2013. Not a a fan of skiing unless it’s during the Olympics. https://www.forbes.com/sites/bradadgate/2019/01/15/hockeys-big-pay-day-is-coming/#1b303fbe4e44
  17. Who has apologized for what and to whom? It does sound like you need an apology, though. From the Bills organization, apparently. You should write them a letter demanding one. In the meantime, can you stop with the specious argument about what “league history has taught us” about McDermott if he doesn’t win in year three? It may be fun to compare him to prior coaches and it may even be interesting, but there is no predictive value in their respective experiences as they’d are all absolutely unique. Other than the title “head coach” there is simply no correlation between there own unique circumstances with their past teams and McDermott with his. It’s a baseless argument.
  18. Per the bold, this is the visualization of that concept:
  19. It’s one thing to say that coaches who haven’t won in their first three years are rarely successful and quite another to present that as an argument against McDermott should he not win this year. It’s a totally empty argument. There is simply ZERO correlation between McDermott and any coach who came before him. The sheer fact that he and they are in COMPLETELY different situations (and I mean COMPLETELY) bares that out. The fact they share the title of “Head Coach” doesn’t establish any correlation, let alone a basis for projection. If we want to discuss McDermott in hypothetical terms for the sake of discussion, that’s great. If we want to compare his first two years to others, that’s fine, too. But let’s not present the argument as some sort of analytical determinator of success or failure moving forward. It’s a baseless argument.
  20. Sometimes the humanity gene is fickle.
  21. I would have sought a second opinion before deciding to cut it off. Good luck with your convalescence.
  22. Yep, it all comes down to Allen, regardless. My question for the fan fan base is, “how long does Allen get?” Personally, I’m a still a proponent of the long time axiom of giving a QB prospect 1,000 attempts before making a general determination. That may not go over well with much of today’s hot-pocket fan base, though.
