  1. Montreal Raypos or Montreal Exrays?
  2. Is that right? Never knew that. Part of me is disappointed to find that out. Oh well. Learn something new every day. Appreciate the edification.
  3. Ed Oliver is gonna do his share of schlepping luggage for veteran players, as well as not be first on the depth chart initially. Is this writer really that clueless about time-honored rites of passage for players in the NFL? Slow news day I guess.
  4. Loved Groucho. My favorite Groucho story comes from when he hosted the game show, ‘You Bet Your Life.’ He asked a women contestant how many kids she had and she said, “11.” Groucho: “Why so many?” Women: “My husband loves kids.” Groucho: “Well, I love my cigar, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while.” He was as sharp and quick as any in history.
  5. My small role with the Bills was pertinent to the mention of Linda Bogdan in a previous post. So "as if" doesn't apply. Why I was fired. Good one. But your troll game sucks.
  6. I have got to see that.
  7. Dangerfield was a true master. His style was reminiscent of Henny Youngman’s, imo. And all all I have to do is read ‘Who’s On First’ to laugh until tears. A&C were masters as well. Transcendent. Ask your mother!
  8. Nothing rankles me more than this bull crap narrative about Linda, may she RIP. Yes, she was advantaged to be the daughter of the owner, but nothing was handed to her as she worked her way up the scouting ladder. Being the daughter of the owner actually made it more difficult for her initially. She faced a ton of adversity but gradually earned the respect of her peers, including Bill Polian and John Butler. She had a direct hand in recommending many players for the draft, including some past greats on our roster. And she wasn’t afraid to pound the table for a player, either. Oh, and she could take a punch and deliver one when needed, too. Much is made of the argument between her and Polian that has now reached mythic proportions, but that wasn’t the first time Polian went off on her, other scouts, or anyone else in his path when he was on a rant. Far from it. But she could hand Polian and others their nuts if she had to. Some made it sound like she went running to daddy after being insulted. Nothing could be further from the truth. Which is one reason she earned so much respect in the room.
  9. Go to your room.
  10. I’m glad we got Poyer when we did. And thank you Cleveland for the development work. Because I suspect that had we drafted him, he would have been cut or otherwise given up on before he blossomed.
  11. Ooh, another ticket office zinger! But, like so many of your takes around here, it’s as stale and inaccurate as can be. Yet another of our exchanges devolves because I won’t indulge your wild stretches to connect dots. This chapter is now closed.
  12. And yet, there he is, weaving his practice in shorts magic with another team and getting praised for how good he looks.
  13. Nope. You’ll have to find another taker for this particular rabbit hole of yours. But no matter how you want to spin it, the simple fact remains that we turned Tyrod Tailor into a piece the Ravens demanded to make the deal to move up and snag Edmunds. There is just no getting around that basic fact. And as such, the value of the TT trade far exceeds that which we gave up for Kelvin Benjamin. The end. As is often the case, I can’t make any sense out of your Bozak reference. I’m sure it makes sense on planet Bado though, so good for you and the space cadets who like to go there. But I have no interest in making the trip.
  14. Semantics. It was the chip required by the Ravens to complete the deal to move up to 16. So yeah, without that chip, we don’t net Edmunds. Thanks, Tyrod. Besides, you know damned well what I meant. Your second sentence is one helluva stretch. A whole year and two entirely different drafts. A yeoman’s effort in dot connecting. Well done. Regarding Mahomes: yeah, NOW!
  15. Wow, you’re hard to please. We acquired the 65th overall pick for Tyrod and gave up the 85th overall and the 234th overall that we had previously acquired from the Chargers for Cardale Jones (basically nothing). On that basis alone it’s at least a push, although I think we win that deal on its face. But imo, to use that 65th overall as a chip to get a high end talent in Edmunds makes it a steal for us. When Edmunds eventually develops into the Pro Bowl defender he was projected to be, it renders what we gave up for Benjamin a total non factor compared to what we gained in the TT trade, imo.
  16. The Tyrod trade netted us Edmunds so does that increase the value enough to outweigh the KB trade?
  17. If you say so, I'll take your word for it. Are we gonna grab Spencer Knight at 31? Will he last that long?
  18. Good food for thought. A little additional perspective on Peterman. I don’t think McD screwed the pooch nearly as much as we perceive that he did when it comes to Peterman. He basically gave Peterman the keys to the car twice and yanked him both times at the half. I think it’s the sheer spectacular level of his NP’s incompetence in the blowout losses he started that makes it seem so much worse. The San Diego debacle was the result of a coach trying to light a fire under his crap offense and I can at least understand it if I didn’t agree with it. It didn’t work in spectacular fashion and he was yanked at the half. It could be argued McD should have yanked him sooner in that game, but a coach will often give a player a chance to achieve some sort of positive result; anything at all, for that player to at least leave on a positive note. Obviously that wasn’t the case, but again, I understand why he let him finish the half. TT was reinserted for the second half and, had TT not gotten hurt, that would have been the last we would have seen of Peterman in ‘17, but he got a start vs. Indy and managed to help win a game. So, a small positive moving forward. That brings us to the ‘18 offseason and what do we see in Peterman? A QB that clearly outplayed McCarron and Allen all through OTAs, mini camp, training camp, and preseason. Now that’s not saying much at all, but he was the best of the three and earned the start in the opener vs the Ravens. And it was on Beane for not providing better depth at the position, which he owned and admitted, but McD had to go with the best player he saw at the position at the time. And more than a few pundits and other observers were impressed with Peterman and what he was showing that summer. McD isn’t the only coach to be fooled by fools gold. And its funny how Gruden and Co. were gushing over “practice” Peterman in Oakland this spring, too. He’s a helluva QB when it doesn’t matter apparently. Anyway, the Ravens debacle was enough for McD. NP was yanked at the half and would not have been seen the field again if not for Allen getting hurt. The Texans game was the final nail, obviously. And, again, I can’t put all the blame on McD for Beane not acting quick enough to find better depth. McD wanted to believe in Peterman, perhaps even needed to believe in him, for various reasons, including his ego. But he really only gave NP two opportunities in the regular season. Two opportunities that amounted to two halves or, one game of action. Which is why I don’t buy the argument that he was somehow married to the guy. McD gave Peterman a far shorter leash than we may perceive.
  19. Q I can relate. Can you help me get these punks off my lawn? My back hurts this morning.
  20. How long do you think Dareus would last with Belichick? McD doesn’t have the temperament. Right. I hope Dareus does just that. Good for him. But let’s not conflate every F***king trade made by various regimes. It’s a weak argument as it has ZERO to do with anything Dareus.
  21. Great story. Jim sounds like my kind of guy. Modesty is a valuable character trait; the basis of class, imo.
  22. That’s a good question. It’s not just Gronk. I have a general distaste for anyone who donates with an ulterior motive of self aggrandizement. In the case of those who have buildings named after them, etc., I don’t like thinking that’s the price for the gift, but it’s often a case of the recipient, a family member, or an associate etc., that insists on the honor. So who am I to say? There are countless people who do these kinds good works every day that we never hear about and I just think that’s more to my liking. And yeah, Gronk is polarizing to say the least. But I’d feel the same way even if he wasn’t a douche.
  23. Good point. Larsson and Girgs have the stink of the tank years all over them. It’s become part of their DNA in Buffalo. Nobody is in need of a fresh start more, so I hope they can be traded. Might say the same about Risto, too.
