  1. Well, the Bills thought they had their QB at the time. We all know how that turned out, but EJ going into his second year was their guy, regardless. It was understandable why they wanted to get the best receiving prospect coming out to help his development. It didn't work out, far from it, but I don't want a GM who doubts himself and won't make deals based on "it might not work out." Can't run a team being afraid.
  2. Absolutely. Desperation isn't a solid footing for good football decisions. But they were and it bit them in the ass. And while KB's own unprofessional attitude is the main reason for his failure here, Beane owns that deal, regardless.
  3. Sammy was traded to the Rams two weeks into training camp. So you're saying Kupp and Woods had already established themselves as "go-to" guys based on what? Two weeks of camp, minicamp, and OTAs? With a new coach and an entirely new system? I don't buy that for a second. I'd like nothing more than to see Sammy light it up when he gets back. But I'm not convinced he's ever going to be 100% healthy again. This is evident to me when I watch him come out of his breaks; he simply lacks the same explosion he possessed previously because of his foot injuries.
  4. I love Sammy as a wideout. Watched every college game he played. He was the best prospect coming out and I had no problems with the trade to move up and get him. But injuries have derailed him. And I think that, if we had kept him, given our sorry state on offense at the time, he would have been even worse than the very pedestrian receiver he's been in LA and KC even while playing in superior systems, with superior coaches, and far superior QBs.
  5. You forgot to include the string of condescending smiley faces. You know, to really emphasize the shallowness of the point being made.
  6. Agree 100%. I get the sense he knows what buttons to push on which players and when to push them. His intellect is off the charts. Gonna be an adjustment for me, post Housley.
  7. AB will soon find out that Carr isn’t Big Ben. Not even close. Big Ben made AB. I’m gonna enjoy watching Carr unmake him.
  8. Opinion writers, yes. Beat reporters, no. Unless they are offering a piece as an op/ed, then it should be devoid of anything other than the facts of the story they are writing/reporting, including positive or negative slants.
  9. What if nobody showed up for voluntary OTAs? Would it be a big deal then?
  10. Ah, gotcha. I’m only halfway into my morning coffee. Thanks for the clarification.
  11. Per the bold, I’m confused. Are you talking about the 3rd we got from Cleveland in the TT trade? If so, we traded that pick to Baltimore as part of the deal to move up and get Edmunds. Am I missing something you referred to?
  12. Having TT at QB was also a factor in Woods leaving, too, imo.
  13. Man, if I thought it was a genius Pats*** move to sign him, they are even more genius for releasing him. So very Krafty.
  14. Sorry, but @plenzmd1 was the drunk driver I pushed to the passenger side front seat so I could take over. He’s currently sleeping it off, blissfully unaware of the now careening vehicle.
  15. Oh no, it’s a car alright. And you need to read the comment in the voice of any father who ever took his kids for a long drive. Too late for safety. This car is careening out of control!
  16. That’s a fair criticism and one I think Marv would agree with, btw.
  17. You mean like when one person says Housley is a clueless idiot and the other person says it’s not him, but the talent?? Regarding this regime’s roster shaping, it’s not entirely unlike the mid 80s when Polian and Co. undertook a similar tactic. Que the “now you’re comparing Beane to Polian, LMFAO” mob and their righteous indignation to the mere placement of Beane’s name in the same sentence with Polian’s. But I see some similarities. I just wish we were all as certain about Josh as we were about Jimbo back in the day. That’s the key, regardless.
  18. While my question was rhetorical, I’m glad you embellished the absurdity of it. But i don’t want @GunnerBill to get the wrong impression of my rhetorical question as he is one of the most level headed contributors to this forum.
  19. Absolutely. Question: do you think the Bills braintrust set out and analyzed the options available before deciding on their ultimate course of action? “Whether the choice works out” is an interesting concept as it depends on one’s own preferable time frame for it to work out. For some it was yesterday, for others it must be this season, still others might give them several more seasons as additional pieces are added. I don’t think it needs to go there. Especially since several posters would refuse to enter that cesspool to continue the discussion.
  20. C’mon, John. Don’t you know that if they choose an option we don’t agree with, it’s automatically the wrong choice? And that there is no need to await the outcomes? Seriously though, good post. Thank God we are not in Alabama then.
  21. Well done, BBF. It helps to familiarize oneself with his work before spouting off and insulting his professionalism.
  22. I appreciate the sentiment. Isn’t “I think” implied in every post as we are all dealing in opinion here? If it puts you at ease, I’ve never had the urge to run to a mod like he was some hallway monitor. I’d rather just state my stance and move on. But yeah, they’d be busier than one legged flamenco dancers if we all ran to them to mete out justice every time we perceive a slight. Sometimes this place can resemble that first grade class. Heck, that might be an insult to first graders as this place can resemble a zoo (no insult to animals intended). In this thread certain lines were crossed and I’ll leave it at that. I’m out of the fray. For now.
  23. Insulting one’s professionalism in his line of work is “discussion?” You said a lot more than simply provide a critique of his article. You flat out stated, in not so many words, that his very ability to do his job DEPENDED on him being a shill for the organization; perhaps the worst thing you can accuse a journalist of being. You invited and deserved every response he made in kind. Per the bold text, If JW insulted you in a published AP article, you could fairly say “that’s most unprofessional.” In this forum? In response to your baseless attack? Wrong. I suggest you re-read your give and take with him in this thread. Your chronology, like your integrity, is way off. There is a way of conducting give and take in a forum without resorting to your kind of low brow, childish behavior. Get a clue.
