  1. I might suspect that if it were another player, but Eichel is the last one in that team to come down with that.
  2. Eichel is skating just fine. But whatever it was that prevented him from taking face offs for a couple games has definitely effected his shot. He’s lost his fast ball from the looks of things; no pace on his wrister at all.
  3. Good point about dark energy; that is certainly “something” so perhaps I should have said there is more “distance” between the things in the universe than anything else. I can’t agree more that the “potential” for life to exist is certainly abundant throughout the known universe. But you know what they say about potential. My only point is that I refuse to simply take it on faith (talk about old Popes!?) that life must exist elsewhere until that irrefutable proof Is presented. I don’t want to project in the meantime.
  4. I’d say the odds are pretty good since they had him go a couple games without taking a face off in order to protect whatever it is.
  5. By refusing to pay ROR’s $7m bonus BEFORE he was traded, TPegs totally destroyed the market for any decent return, so I’d say most of that bad trade can be attributed directly to Sabres ownership as a result.
  6. I concede that the universe certainly contains all the ingredients for life, the “stuff” of it, to exist outside of the earth. But I don’t think I’m arrogant for wanting to see the irrefutable evidence that it does. After all, what the universe contains most of all is empty space. There is more of nothing in it than there are things that fill it up.
  7. I agree. While I get the sense McBeane value production more than anything, I also think they value athleticism that lends itself to scheme flexibility (and who doesn’t?). I just feel Epenesa’s lack of athleticism will be exposed at the next level.
  8. I guess it makes sense when you play a nickel D 75% of the time.
  9. No. Just a new title and a pay raise. He won’t be any more involved or uninvolved than he already is.
  10. I suspect he’s already got his stories in the can. Each tailored for any possible wind direction.
  11. It’s almost like there aren’t 31 other teams all trying to rob the same train.
  12. That is rich. I’m sure you watch the games. You may want to try watching other teams and other games with other players, though. I goddamn guarantee you will find poor plays, poor series, poor entire games from even the best players in the league. Matt Milano is a damned good player and a major cog in this highly rated defense two years running. It will take a dominant player to replace him, so you may want to brace yourself for when that doesn’t happen.
  13. Can’t argue any of that, really. TD and Greggo, who got rid of Pat Williams because he was gonna “tackle in numbers” really set us back. I’d also add that John Butler’s mismanagement of the cap and the mess it created was all a catalyst for the suckitude that followed.
  14. Great points, all, and I’m sure those are the main reasons for his short durations with various teams. But imo, he’s a major league A hole, regardless.
  15. Good question. My suspicion is it’s because he’s a major league A hole.
  16. Why is wood called wood?
  17. Dumb. Ass. Moron. My apologies to morons everywhere for the comparison.
  18. Do you know the difference between a quarterback and a passer?
  19. At best, marginal improvement may be gained by those not naturally blessed with speed. Taking nothing away from Don Beebe’s or similar speed and agility training facilities, but improvements in technique aren’t gonna make a back like Singletary and others like him into Chris Johnson.
  20. Speed can’t be taught, so it’s always at a premium. That said, elusiveness is still the number one trait sought in a RBs. Speed can certainly be a component of elusiveness, but there have been plenty of blazing fast RBs over the years who couldn’t get out of their own way. The greatest tend to have that unique combination, like OJ or Sanders. But the Thurmans or Emmit Smiths of the world can do just fine.
  21. You lost me here, my good man. What does CBS’s decision to pay Romo have to do with the CBA negotiated negotiated between the league and the NFLPA?
