  1. I’d have thought right Josh. Then wrong Josh.
  2. So were we and yet, even with a shortened bench, we were able to lock them down. RK has been successful with that on several occasions this season, problem is this team rarely gives him the luxury of doing that.
  3. Nope. He’s a loser.
  4. If Kahun does anything more than just skate up and down the ice during a game, we will have gotten the best player in the trade.
  5. Unfortunately, that’s true. Which is a shame, because we can deny shot opportunities when we have to. I mean the Peg went the final 9+ minutes without a shot on goal yesterday. Ralph shortened the hell out of his bench to do it, but we are capable nonetheless. Too bad our goaltending is so suspect.
  6. More like .625 hockey in a league where accumulated points are what matters most.
  7. Never wanted to see a player get a hat trick as bad as I wanted KO to get one.
  8. Briscoe was indeed electrifying on the field, whether at QB or WR. No doubt there were ridiculous racist viewpoints preventing black players from getting opportunities to play QB in the NFL. But I think what hurt Briscoe the most in that regard was that he was such a superior player at WR. He may have been a good QB, but he was an elite receiver. Especially in the game as it was at that time.
  9. F**k this team seven ways to Sunday. They don’t have what it takes because the good teams, the contenders, understand that moving your feet and engaging in spirited puck battles for 60 minutes is NOT an elective activity that you turn on and off depending on the opponent. It’s called “hockey character” and, like football character, or any other team sport, you either have it in you individually or you don’t. This sorry ass team simply doesn’t have enough of it. And Hutton still sucks.
  10. It’s great that Reinhart has developed into a good winger playing alongside Eichel on a line that has become one of the best offensive lines in the league. But that doesn’t happen if Reinhart hadn’t proved to be a bust at the position he was drafted for in the hopes of filling. Part of the reason we don’t have that number two center is because we have sucked at drafting them over the drought years.
  11. If he has to be traded, it has to be to a team outside our division. Period. I like Kapanen’s game a lot, but he’s not a top six forward, imo.
  12. Ottawa is a better team than the Sabres. Period. Bordering on far better. Don’t tell me about point totals and an incremental improvement this season over last because we have shown NO improvement where it matters most. Well done, JBotts, you ignorant fool. Oh, and Hutton sucks. He doesn’t deserve another start the rest of the season. He can’t get off my favorite team fast enough.
  13. Yet. Not good enough yet.
  14. Nothing to Montreal, but an impossibility for JBotts at the time. Point is, conditions on the ground changed dramatically for St. Louis in the six weeks since we unloaded Scandella to Montreal. You’re free to think that the Bouwmeester situation had little to no bearing, so I’ll just agree to disagree on that score as I think it did.
  15. That was a nice stroll down memory lane indeed. Replete with a Jamie Mueller TD catch.
  16. Right. Any other impossible to prove scenarios you want to toss out while we’re at it?
  17. Do you think St. Louis or anyone else in the league offers up 2nd for Scandella six weeks ago? And Botterill has to retain half the salary? For a rental who’s a free agent at the end of the year? St. Louis was desperate after what happened last week. And this deal reeks of a desperation move.
  18. Not too much of an ouch from me. That deal doesn’t happen without the Bouwmeester tragedy and the desperation it caused for the Blues. It’s no reflection on JBotts and the Sabres at all.
  19. Pretty sure that would have violated league rules at the time. But now that he’s refused to report and has been suspended, they are free to negotiate a settlement. It all depends on what Bogo wants to do. Let’s not forget that he was a legit part of their plans this year and they gave him 10 straight games upon his return to come around and help the team. We all saw he wasn’t capable of that after a few games.
  20. Teams can only offer buyouts during the specific buyout window in the summer, after the NHL season concludes. Not sure when the Sabres were supposed to do that anyway, given he was on injured reserve at the end of last season and scheduled for hip surgery.
  21. Doesn’t he make something like 21K per day? That’s a lot of scratch even for a rich man to ignore.
  22. Actually, that’s two good trades then. Joker for Nylander has been a steal so far. Although Joker still has a ways to go before I can say he’s arrived.
