  1. In many ways, Diggs, Beasley, and Brown were the perfect compliment of receivers with each bringing a unique skill that benefited the other. The scheme didn’t change so much as the personnel changed and Dorsey needed to adjust for that, imo. As I’ve said previously, we need better WRs; one that can take the top off a defense like Brown and a master at reading defenses to find open areas like Beasley.
  2. Imo, Dorsey was the figurehead of the issue. “The root of the problem” is lack of talent at the wideout position, Diggs excepted.
  3. Xs and Os are all well and good, but as the old saying goes, it isn’t about the Xs and Os, it’s about the Jimmys and Joes and we are currently lacking in that department. IMO, the biggest missing X on offense is the lack of a consistent zone beating receiver to compliment Diggs, like we had with Beasley who was one of the best at pre and post snap reads. He mad Josh’s job a helluva lot easier. As for the Os on defense, when you’re missing your best player at each level of the defense like we are currently, it’s a tough road to hoe for even the best schemers.
  4. They are both William and Mary alums. That hardly qualifies as a collaborative history together.
  5. Joe Brady and McD never worked together in Carolina. Their first collaboration is with the Bills.
  6. I expect an epic 7 game win streak, another division title, and entering the playoffs as the hottest team in the league that nobody else wants to play. Anything less will be a bit disappointing.
  7. Good move. One less voice in Josh’s ear, but still too many with the presence of Mike Shula still on the team. I voiced the concern over the “too many chefs” approach during OTAs in ‘22 and I stand by the thought today.
  8. You dredge up a 14 month old thread, quote my post in that thread that has nothing to do with your point about coaching in that thread, and now want to cite me for a comment on coaching? I have even less respect for your sorry, insecure self than before.
  9. Currently 18th on the list as it resets after the first three weeks of the season and becomes based on current league standings and we are 15th over all at the moment. But yeah, I suspect one of the 17 teams below us would make a claim.
  10. I hear ya. If these delicate little waifs can’t bear the outcomes of a game they have zero control over, perhaps they should give their fragile psyches a break and avoid it all together.
  11. Lost the deep threat to take the top of the defense as well as Beasley who kept defenses honest with his ability find open spaces.
  12. Invidious. Nice. Major points from the vocabulary judges. Well done.
  13. Chris Jones is as big an idiot as Jordan Phillips.
  14. There’s a fine line between playing with an edge and playing out of control. I’m all for Josh being Josh and playing with that edge, but he needs to do that in the context of letting the game come to him instead of forcing things.
  15. Guess I’m just a glutton for punishment.
  16. Stealing a possession only applies if you stop them on their initial possession. Turnovers also steal possessions from the opponent. But on average, teams are gonna get a dozen possessions in a game so I don’t put much stock in the idea of deferring to steal a possession. But in deferring, if you can score at the end of the first half and on the initial drive in the second half, it can be a huge factor in swinging the game. The “double dip” is a real advantage when it works out that way.
  17. He’s scheme limited. Great at man, less than average in zone.
  18. And only a few hour drive from his hometown to boot.
