I agree. My point is, again, defense matters. It didn’t matter in this Super Bowl. Coordinators game plans and play calling can be just as effective as investing heavily in great players, like Spags has shown in both the chiefs SB victories. Getting stops when needed. It wasn’t Chris Jones making the :rd down stops. It was Spags blitzing of average LB Willie Gay. Winning games of chess when it matters most. the problem with our drafting of defensive players on day 2 isn’t that we drafted defensive players. It’s that the players that we drafted haven’t developed into what they had hoped. If AJ and Boogie had turned into Josh Sweat or Chris Jones, the problems on offense wouldn’t be under the same microscope. The fact they they busted is the problem imo. Maybe that’s the players being drafted fault. Maybe it’s the coaches fault, or a bit of both. Either way, teams with terrible defenses rarely win the Super Bowl for a reason. Defenses do matter. Defensive play calling matters. That’s my only point. Fixed.

Meanwhile——. The previous 4 Super Bowl winners held their opponents under 21. The rules were the same as they were this year. So, in those super bowls, defense definitely mattered. The notion that it doesn’t matter is stupid. It matters a lot. it didn’t in this SB. That doesn’t make the point credible. of course offense is the key- most importantly an offensive line that can negate the opponents great defense. We had 2 of the 3 best OLs in the game playing for the title yesterday. The other 2 best OL didn’t make the playoffs because….defense matters. I’m acting like a huge stop doesn’t matter? What did I miss here? edit: maybe I worded my post in a way where the sarcasm wasn’t noticed…. my point was- defense definitely matters.

I’m sure you could’ve written the same post the previous 4 seasons…. When the losing team didn’t score over 20 in any of the 4 games. defense matters. Offense matters. STs matter. this post is so stupid. yes, we need to put more focus on the offensive side of the ball as we haven’t invested enough into if. Just say that. Saying that defense doesn’t matter is just about THE DUMBEST thing someone could say.

We have a Super Bowl trophy (or two) if Andy Reid was our head coach

He did against us -
Based on no Von Miller. KC also beat Cinci…..who destroyed us. The team we fielded in the game vs Cinci wasn’t a championship caliber team. Add a healthy Von, Hyde, daquan, Ed and Phillips…. We may have been

Epic fail NFL.

Mahomes has a Lombardi gift wrapped and handed to him by the referees. Must be nice

KC coaching- great play call on the 3rd down TD to toney. great defensive play call blitzing Gay on 3rd down. 3rd down coaching ftw

We shall see

And he’s had a couple perfect passes dropped too.

Me too. 😉 Actually went so far to say we should trade Tremaine and use the pick on Bolton.

Hurts has turned himself into a helluva QB. Big props to the kid. He’s surrounded by the best team, there’s no doubt….. but he’s also been their best player tonight. He’s thrown some perfect passes into some great coverage.

Wish we had Gainwell 😞

I’d be shocked if we see anything different from the D. It’ll be nickel 85%+ of the snaps. If we keep Maine, we better hope Bernard can fit that versatility you seek (but won’t get). We 💯cannot sink more resources into that position. Maine and Milano both getting paid- 3rd rd pick on Bernard. We play almost all nickel. And that won’t change until McF is gone. WR is a much great need imo.

Idk, I didn’t say that. I don’t think he’s a huge weapon. There’s no doubt that he’d be the Bills 2nd best WR. While I haven’t read much of the board since the bengals game so I can’t speak for everyone, but the real problem lies with the overall talent level of the Bills WR room. Other than Diggs, everyone else is just a guy. Davis may get paid like he’s more than that. He can thank Josh Allen, because he’s one of the worst WR2 in the league. Mahomes has one HUGE advantage. Kelce and Diggs cancel each other out as all pro targets (even though Kelce is superior). Andy Reid is a massive advantage. A hall of fame play caller vs a rookie play caller. Coaching cannot be overstated. In our case, we’ve been completely out coached in 3 straight season ending losses.

-He has one of the worst offensive lines in football. People can say w/e they want. Spencer Brown is an atrocious pass blocker. Saffold might be worse. Bates is a good backup. Our best lineman (Dawkins) got destroyed on a 3 man rush on the seasons most important 3rd down. like you said- Josh took an absolute beating vs the bengals. Coaching him up could’ve saved him some of that beating, but our offensive offensive line was the main culprit. -We also have no speed and separation @ WR other than Diggs. Thanks to having no speed and no one to worry about (other than Knox) opposing defenses can bracket Diggs and not think twice. Davis is just a guy. The slots are league minimum free agent signings. We don’t have anyone else. - rookie OC who had never called plays in his lifetime. It showed. We have the best player in the league leading our offense, yet our offense had no identity…..other than Let Josh cook. We made investments in adding RBs with great receiving ability…..yet the incumbent RB had 38 catches the the 2 offseason investments had 25 between them. I just don’t understand. so what held him back- -Poor OL -serious lack of speed and separation @ WR other than Diggs. Untimely drops all season. -Lacking an experienced play caller that knows how to use his weapons.

Super Bowl Pre-Game thread. (Chiefs vs. Eagles)

You’re welcome. I’ve been busy with life the last month or so, so I haven’t haven’t dug much deeper on the WRs yet. You listed every single defensive position as a bigger priority than WR….. interesting. I thought our D, even though it was banged up all season, was on par with our O. If our O happened to be banged up like our D was….. our team would’ve been a dumpster fire. Imagine Diggs getting injured…. Our season would immediately be over. We scored 10 points in the deciding game…. And everyone was healthy. LB I can understand if we lose tremaine….. but I think he returns. You think that Tremaine is a goner I assume? i agree that pass rush, corner and S are still pretty big needs, but I’d put Wr above all of them atm. Watson or Pickens would’ve been amazing. 😞 instead we draft a corner that couldn’t beat out Dane or a fellow rookie drafted 5 rounds after him. I did like what I saw from Elam this year though. Now we just need our vaunted defensive back gurus to develop him into a star.

OT…looks like Lamar has entered the quarterback trade market

😉 Why not try it out for a year? Confuse the league for a year, win our SB then move on. It’s a year to year league. The last 2 SB winners are pretty terrible now. I hope you enjoy the game as well my friend! Im just hoping my former draft crush Kennth Gainwell wins mvp. +9000 is great value @ +9500. He’s been ballin -

We should trade for him and play him at RB. We could do some freaky stuff out there! -
I’ve had my fill of the entire lot. I turn one on and turn it off after 2 minutes. Or maybe I just don’t want to hear about the Bills for a bit. what a debacle
