His nfl comp is a good starting LT that was given a 2nd contract by the team that drafted him. That’s exactly what you want out of your first pick. Dawkins was a great pick. I’d prefer drafting a LT…. And you should too, it’s better value. I feel Dawkins and Harrison would both be better RTs than Drew Bledsoe concrete feet Spencer brown. Bledsoe should be Browns comp. 59 or 91. Bresee and Mazi both have votes. So no, you’re not the only one worried

I agree with most everything that you say…. But I don’t know how anyone could definitively say that they aren’t better….especially in pass protection. They may be better. They may be worse. That’s not something you know right now. one thing we know for sure. Brown has been terrible+

One play…. A play that wouldn’t have mattered if not for Cam Lewis. morse has been a very solid center. Meanwhile brown has been nothing short of terrible his entire career. And roll out my favorite player to get Josh killed another season

Yeah….we’re risking our season (and Allen’s health) on “maybe” this guy who was never good, will now be good. that’s literally the only thing- he was recovering from surgery. He’s never shown to be even below average pass protection. He’s always been bad.

i went to day 3 last year in Vegas. @Jamie Nails flexed on security and got me into the front. We were crushing seltzers and talking smack. I got meet and sit next to @Mark Vader and experience his all time draft manifesto, each player ever drafted since 1932 written down by the man himself. He looks great for a man over 100 years old. it was a pleasure and privilege gentlemen. Thanks for having me. the first pick I witnessed was Khalil Shakir, one of my draft class crushes. Than the rape god and Benford. 3 (what should have been) solid picks in a row on day 3.

I couldn’t care less about his run blocking. You shouldn’t either. there were more than “some” ugly moments. We can see how much his back injury had to do with that and cover our a**** at the same time. Everyone needs tackles. If he turns out to be good and we draft another good tackle, I’d call that a great problem to have I’m not. Sadly

This is the best part of this time of year. Johnny Couch educating people about what value prospects are. what makes you think Spencer brown IS going to be good? Please elaborate with something tangible. See here’s the thing…. We can’t afford to have him play like he did last season. Going into the year with him and quess as our only RT tackle options is extremely risky. If he doesn’t improve, our SB chances are likely out the window. Too big a risk

You’ve been getting extra crispy tonight haven’t ya? Josh requires guys who can get open in small spaces? Wth. He’s requires 1 or 2, sure. But also he needs guys to go deep. He needs guys who can take a screen to the house. He needs guys that are open when their not. And Johnston can get open in small spaces. He can just turn and box out several corners based on his size.

Doing something so stupid as drafting a WR over a RT? Idk man. I’m the biggest Spencer brown hater on the board from my recollection and while I’d prefer wright, I’d be happy that we added a playmaker. Some people aren’t very high on wright. And some people are very high on Johnston. Just depends how our scouting dept views each prospect. Both have their flaws

maybe it’s my disdain for Spencer Brown that has me so enamored with adding a RT. That’s the one position I have no confidence in at the moment. I prefer gabe @ WR2. I even prefer our LB by committee @ Mike. Josh’s health >> all. He was hurt last year because our RT got smoked. I actually like Dell in rd 3. I’d just prefer some other guys. I just hope to get more of an impact WR…. But I’m not expecting it. I’d rather go WR rd 2, then Zacch Pickens Dexter or Roy in rd 3. But who knows who’ll be available

You don’t buy that we beat them? I can tell you, we did. And how many elite playmakers did KC have when they won the SB last year?

Yet we beat them in their house while they were healthy and we were missing hyde and tredavious. their coaching staff is clearly better….but there’s no question that we are close to, if not their equal. Injuries and coaching ended our season. Not the roster. Yes, the roster has some holes that can be exploited. So does every roster that pays their QB 40M+. Our roster to start the season was championship caliber. Even with Spencer Brown @ RT, we had enough talent on D to overcome. That was evident when we beat KC. Von Miller showed the world why we paid for him. He closed out the chiefs almost singlehandedly with 3 huge plays in the 4th qtr. Then he was gone along with our Lombardis chances. Then, in the biggest game of the year, our coaching staff laid an egg….. for the 3rd year in a row.

Word. I’m thinking rd 1 will disappointing- hopefully not as disappointing as last year. I understood, but hated the Elam pick. I’ve come to accept Spencer Brown @ RT in 2023. 😢 it makes me so sad as I think he’s trash and his foot speed will ensure him staying trash.

Lol. You’re all over the place. Trade for Dhop and draft a WR rd 1. Drafting both dawand and Anton. I think we’ll add 1 WR and (hopefully) 1 OT somewhere. I wouldn’t hate adding 2 WRs, but looking at Beanes history, that’s not gonna happen. We might not even draft one OT, let alone 2. 😢

Yeah…. I agree. Beane and McB love them some Spencer Brown. He might cost them their jobs too. If he plays like he did last year, we’re screwed. That’s a lot of faith to put in a kid that has never been good. I agree about Avila or Schmitz in rd 2. I just don’t see us being that lucky…. And if we are, we probably won’t even draft them
