Josh Allen is a force of nature. He does that to most. I saw us barely beat them in the playoffs….with Skylar Thompson under center. Since then, they’ve gotten better. We can’t say the same as of now. Still lots of time to go. It’s barely just begun. Did we know that he was leaving?

Helluva move. Fangio + Ramsey….. that D should be ridiculously good imo. once the jets get AR- it’ll be a 3 way tie at the top for division favorite prior to FA and the draft.

Matt Milano Contract Extension, as per Adam Schefter

💙 ❤️ LOVE this -
And what I’m saying is, no they all can’t be and they won’t be. Veteran stop gaps don’t have to be expensive. Veteran stop gaps can bring a lot to position rooms and the locker room. They are often positive presences. Having a mix of vets and rookie is the way to go. Not JUST rookies. You’d be hard pressed to find a contending team in the league that doesn’t have vet stop gaps getting snaps.

I’m not emotionally attached to anyone. Poyer is my favorite player. He’s gone and I have no problem with it. What you’re talking about is something entirely different…..and it makes zero sense if we want to win a Super Bowl next season. we can sign other players AND keep Hyde. Watch….. it’s going to happen. Signing FA’s and keeping Hyde aren’t mutually exclusive.

Bills reportedly interested in Jamaal Williams
NewEra replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Either he’s cut or extended at a lower price- keeping him with that cap hit- No thanks. Jamaal Williams is a beast and we’d be very lucky to have him. The kid has put in work and have improved year after year. Tremendous locker room guy and brings some swag to the backfield -
I’m still trying to win the SB in 2023- it’s possible. We aren’t in a full rebuild. We’re retooling with hopes of a Lombardi in 2023. Cutting an all pro, team captain and leader of our defense that we clearly missed last season to save some money AND create another hole in the starting lineup doesn’t send the signal we’re trying to win to the fan base or the locker room. That would be an epic fail

Just terrible.

Agreed. He’s a hammer and brings a lot of attitude and swag to the locker room. He’d be a great compliment to cook.

When you pay your QB/WR duo almost 70M between them, stop gaps will exist. Every year.
-
Of course you do.

Good for you Bob.

Same. If I’m the colts, I’d take Stroud. I like young but I wouldn’t risk the franchise future on a QB his size. Some of you guys would really take Richardson #1 overall? I mean, I love the god given talent but I’d rather draft LeBron James and teach him how to play QB. Richardson might be a slightly better runner atm, but Lebron is definitely a better passer at this point. Is it really a roll of the dice? What else should they do with it? Roll the dice on another QB that most don’t really view as that great to begin with? This makes complete sense

It would cost them less assets but an additional 35M+ per year in salary,

Hahahahahaha. Post of the year nominee. He wants to be you GB!! He’s coming for ya!!

He had a great game playing opposite a true #1 who was getting all of the defenses attention….leaving him matched up 1 on 1 vs below average defenders. Looks like where we differ is don’t think that having one great game = shown #1 ability. To me, that was Josh being the best player on the planet and taking what the defense gave him. Gabe played a great game, but him being a #1 never entered my mind.

Great list @MrEpsYtown I haven’t looked into much yet but hope to dig in over the weekend. I found this interesting https://nfltraderumors.co/top-100-2023-nfl-free-agents-list/ scroll down to #66, you’ll see Singletary. Then look down 2 spots to #68. 🤣

I like him, don’t get me wrong. I like him like I like Tremaine and Ed. Good players but not good enough to pay them what another team would. I love Poyer, but I don’t think we should pay him more than 10-11M a year. I see every player on the last year of their contract as a possible trade chip. If we don’t think we’re going to be able to afford them, trading them could be the best option. Not always the case when competing for a SB, but in hindsight (not winning the SB), trading tremaine last offseason likely would have reaped a greater benefit than by losing him in FA.

I’d trade him for a 3rd. edit: he’s a 1 year rental at this point. I don’t think he’s worth the money he’ll command. He’s like a lesser Alvin Harper.

You don’t think Bills fans are lamenting the trade up for Sammy Watkins? How about John Mccargo? Redskins trading up for RG, saints for Ricky Williams, chargers for Ryan leaf, jags for Derrick Harvey, dolphins for Dion Jordan? It’s worth it when that player works out. It backfires when that player doesn’t work out. There are plenty of cases for both sides. You don’t understand the rationale for not trading up for a RB in rd 1. You asked John a question and I gave you the answer. The price is why GMs don’t (or do) trade up. When the GM feels that the risk outweighs the reward. It’s simple business 101. We’re in a position right now, where we have several holes to fill and upgrade with limited money. I’m not against trading up for the right player, but i don’t see the value in this draft class. The value is in rd 2-5 imo. The 1st rd is relatively weak. Trading up a couple spots will cost the team a potential 4+ year starter. Beanes misses in recent years has put us in a spot where every pick matters. Late round draft picks have a lot of value if used correctly- ask Veach- drafting Williams rd 4, watson and pacheco rd 7 this year. Trey smith rd 6, sneed rd 4, danna rd 6. Do you think McDuffie was the only player that veach coveted? Do you think that was the only call he made trying to trade up? Your answer lies within. He made calls. Lots I’m sure. They couldn’t settle on compensation that each team thought was a fair. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why teams don’t execute trade ups for every player that they love. The price. the only players I’d be happy trading up for in this class are Paris Johnson, Johnston, JSN and Addison. I wouldn’t want to give up a 2nd to trade up for the WRs- even a 3rd is a bit rich. Maybe - combination of 4-5ths to move up a handful of spots. I’d trade a 3rd and a 4th next year to go get Johnson, but he’ll go way before we get to that stage of the draft.
