A coach can do a good job and still be part of the problem. That’s usually the case tbh. And he has the 2nd best record in the league…..so he should get credit for that? No? Or is the HC only accountable for losses and poor play? Not “everything” apparently. Wins are a QB stat and losses are the HC stat now?

Edmunds Oliver epenesa rousseau basham Elam bishop We’ve acquired 7 defensive players and 7 offensive players with rd 1-2 picks. Edmunds wasn’t a reason we didn’t win a SB those 5 years- solid starter, definitely not a difference maker Oliver- very good player after continued improvement. A non factor in the playoff losses Epenesa- similar to Oliver in that he just continues to improve. Also similar in the fact that he doesn’t come up big in season finales Rouesseau- very good player- as one of the last players selected in rd 1- I think of him as good value. See above- no pass rush when needed most. basham- bust bum city- Beanes worst pick imo Elam- physical talent- just like all the bills 1st rd pick. They hoped he’d be a quick learner. He hasn’t been, but he still has a chance. High upside player imo. Bishop-tbd but I think we’re going to love him. The kid bangs and can cover. Poyer was our thumper enforcer in the rear. Bishop bring much more thump. Physicality. Imo- It all comes down to the DL. Pass rush rules the game and we’ve had none in our season ending losses. Zilch. I think Beanes free agents on the DL have been worse than the draft picks. Either due to injury, being bad or not showing up in the playoffs, his investments aren’t coming up making plays when we need them too. Coaches can help put them in better position- but ultimately, the players have to make plays. 3 years in a row, we’ve been without our best defensive player in the playoffs. White, von then Milano (along with many others). Those are the guys you count on to make the big plays. If Chris jones were to miss the 23 playoffs and sneed moss the 24 playoffs, I’d bet they have 2 less Lombardis.

Nah- A bust is a player that didn’t meet expectations. He was the consensus best WR in the draft and he ended up not even being close to that. Probably the 7th best- barely edging out John Brown You don’t have to be a bad pro to be a bust. He was a solid player and had a decent career for a day 2 pick- very solid career for a day 3 pick……but he was a bust as he was the consensus WR1 in his class.

I think he just looks smaller due to his short arms and what looks to be even shorter legs. Dude is all torso. He’s like our very own little corgi

I think he’ll be at least a solid performer over his 5 year contract. He’ll fill roles- fades, slants and digs while also becoming one of the better run blockers in the league. His age and persona has me excited. I think it’ll be fun to watch him mature and improve. Hopefully he can master the art of pushing off just enough to not get called. It’s an under appreciated skill that no one talks about imo. not sure if he’ll be worth a second contract if he’s going to get big bucks- but should get 5 years of contributions. Lol. Good lord. Yeah, I realize all of this- he is SF’s Josh Allen. He’s the main reason they were in the SB imo. But it’s also his philosophy as to why they don’t have a top QB. Lynch took one failed stab at Lance. Other than that- they haven’t attempted to land a big fish unless you consider Jimmy G a big fish. He wanted Cmc and is ok giving up many picks and paying him almost 20M to be the back in his offense. He wants weapons. He’s paying for them. You thought the niners got below average QB play last season? Even in the SB- he wasn’t bad. He just didn’t do enough. Shanahans offense didn’t do enough for him either.

You said the bills should’ve drafted Jordan Addison- what question did you answer? Then you said they should have traded up for him. Tough to say why someone should’ve done with zero context. At what cost? Do we trade our first and second for him? That may have been the cost…..if so…..should we still have drafted Jordan addison? I wouldn’t. I love Addison. He was my #1 target last year. I was hoping he was going to be our pick one way or another but trading up for him may have not been possible - hence he’s not really an answer

I’d throw in should the niners fire Shanahan? He can’t beat mahomes- pretty sure he’s 0-4 lifetime. Bested twice in the Super Bowl. Obviously the answer is no, but McDermott has faired MUCH better vs Mahomes and Reid than Shanahan has. KC is the standard and he’s o’fer. McD just can’t beat them in the playoffs…..same for shanahan

Do we know that he didn’t try and trade up for Addison? Or would the GM who traded up for a different pass catcher decide it would be smarter to keep that information close to the vest. Talking about failed trade ups isn't usually a consideration

What cost us a 4th to move up for Kincaid may have cost us a 2nd for Addison. I’ll take Kincaid and Torrence over addison every day. not unrealistic- but not a given that we could have either

Shakir’s play last season was NOT just a guy. His stats- whatever- watch his play. He’s not a jag. He was a very good WR last season. . i can’t comment so much on Samuel last season as I only watched him vs the Bills. My knowledge of his abilities and his former QBs suggest that he’ll be more than a jag with 17. to me, just a guy can be replaced by another just a guy. I consider Hollins and MVS jags. I don’t think they can step in for shakir and Samuel and produce similarly. Seems to me that we have different opinions of the term. All good
