  1. I hope so, but I don’t see it with the signing of Smoot. 1.75m gtd. that’s one of my least favorite offseason moves, although I get it. He’s the power backup end. I just don’t like the player and would rather we held out and gotten someone with more pass rush upside. Groot, AJ, Von, smoot are pretty much locks looking at contracts. Solomon, Jonathan and toohill battle for 5th. I like soloman and I expect him to battle Jonathan. Hopefully we can get the remaining on the ps.
  2. No, Beane was the doormen who took KCs money to bypass the line. He knew who he wanted and he rolled the dice that the best gms in the business weren’t in the market for Keon Coleman. So he got free upgrades. You can twist words and pretend like you have a clue, but you don’t. Looking at our team Worthy and Pearsall weren’t in contention. We knew Carolina wanted Legette. We drafted a WR version of Josh, Tremaine, Rousseau and elam. A big and athletic human being. You’re taking Beane for a fool. He’s not that. Yet again, it’s expected. That’s why you’re here.
  3. 🙄 this is such a short sighted view. You’re saying any team picking in the mid 20’s is making a mistake, because they’ll inevitably be picking by after the best GMs and you won’t get the guy you want. We got a player that we wanted and we upgraded picks. The fact that there’s risk involved doesn’t make this a bad move. Every offseason move is a risk. Nothing is guaranteed.
  4. It’s of no consequence if we got the guy we would’ve picked at 28. It’s a risk if the guy we wanted was picked. If we wanted a sub 4.4 guy, there were some available. Coleman is the only WR that fits his particular profile. He knew Carolina was taking Legette. I doubt he was taking Pearsall and if worthy was his guy, he wouldn’t have traded down. I never thought Worthy was a viable option for our offense. He’s not the prototype Beane drafts in rd 1. Coleman is. it’s my opinion that Coleman was their guy all along. So the only consequence was upgrading a handful of picks.
  5. I’m speaking of the 24 year old RB pick. You mentioned his age. Which has no bearing. He’s a backup, which has no bearing. He’s a 4th rd pick that is pretty much guaranteed to have a solid size role in our offense for the next 4 seasons. There’s nothing wrong with the pick. I was hoping for another WR at some point and I’m disappointed that we didn’t select one but I’m happy with the Davis pick. He’s a baller lol. And now you know why his draft board looks like 🤣 Clueless
  6. A backup RB for 2 years and a starter for 2 years. Not sure what the problem is. Any 4th rd pick that get solid snaps for 2 years then starts for 2 years is of fine value. Regardless of position. It’s a day 3 pick
  7. Age has nothing to do with this pick. Mentioning it is absurd. He’s a RB that will be here for 4 years and then gone. He’ll play his last play as a bill when he’s 28. Perfect timing
  8. Incoming 10 game suspension for Rice
  9. Looks like a brutal schedule. I’m thinking 9-11 wins- it’ll be a battle to make the playoffs but I think we’ll get in I’m excited to see how the new blood performs. Could be some rough spots. Brady calling his playbook. I love the RB and TE units. More run. More 2TE sets. Not what everyone is hoping for, but it could be what we need (if we can be efficient running) I’d hope to see Morris involved some too (but not counting on it). I think he’s an underrated player. Will be eagerly following the progression of this rookie class. I really like the players we drafted this season (although Keon wasn’t initially on my wish list), I really like the kid and think he can be a player with 17. I like our defense all around minus DE. I hope Bishop starts. Lacking a pass rusher unless von is old von or Soloman emerges as a beast
  10. Same as every age RB. 4 years and 👋🏻 good bye. Age means nothing in his regard imo. He isn’t getting a 2nd contract. Maybe he starts slowing down at 29. Who cares, he’ll be gone.
  11. Good- maybe he’ll stay another year. By that time, I think there’s a chance McD is replaced. I’d guess that he’s got this year and next minimum.
  12. I would!! I’d bet $100- whatcha say @Brennan Huff? 😉 I don’t think he’s a lock, but I do think he’s top 6 and a 1.1M dead cap if cut helps his case
  13. That’s fair- you don’t like his decisions on who he decided to start. I didn’t either. I was also hoping for elam and Dorian. From my vantage point sitting at the bar with a beer and not in the clubhouse, I can pretend to know what’s best too. Problem being, we can’t see much from the bar. We don’t know if dorian was able to play Mike efficiently and call the plays. and like I’ve said forever- I agree, our coaching isn’t on par with KC. I also don’t think there’s a team in the league that is on par with them. Hence back to back SBs with below average WR units
  14. I agree 💯 I wasn’t saying McD isn’t without fault. I’d just like to see how he does in a game without @GoBills808regarding how many defensive starters we were missing- milano, Bernard, Tre, Benford, von miller (he played but nowhere near 💯), floyd played 38% of the snaps and was useless, jones was coming back from major injury and wasn’t heard from all game, Dodson managed to play 78% of the snaps on one leg, Douglas almost didn’t play due to his knee injury suffered the previous week, 2nd string MIKE Spector would have been a starter over AJ. Poyer and Hyde were shells of themselves. But yeah, we were missing 3 players. 4 of 11 starters were out- a would be starter in Spector was out- 5. That’s almost 50% as I had stated plus several others that had ability changing injuries.
  15. i agree that sometimes it is a big issue. I agree that, under Frazier, the scheme wasn’t challenging enough. It was a huge issue. And I agree that he’s making changes on that side of the ball to try and diversify the defense. I’m sure we both agree that we’re happy about that. Every coaching staff needs to evolve. He’s doing that. But the bottom bolded, I think you’re exaggerating. How did we hold KC to 20 and 17 points in two of the last 3 games we played if they’ve become fish in a barrel? Maybe Reid and Mahomes weren’t trying that game? 🤷🏻‍♂️ your narrative that Reid/Mahomes always have their way with McD’s D is wrong. Funny how that always happens when we are healthier and have better players on the field. Beat them in 21 with Tre- lost to them in 13 seconds without Tre. Beat then in 22 with Von. Beat them in 23 with Benford, TB, healthy Douglas. Lost without them. Burrow, well that’s been a different story. He’s stomped on McDs D. Ain’t no doubt Moving the goalposts. But I that’s what you’ve done this entire debate. It’s all based on your dislike for McD. And that’s all. You’re entitled. But it doesn’t mean that you’re right
  16. Well great, neither do I. This is the problem with your guys’ stance on this topic. I’m not blaming it on one thing (injuries). I’m blaming it several things. I don’t think that “injuries hopelessly derailed” our season. I think Injuries played a part. As I’ve stated several times. Yet it keeps coming back to you guys implying that my argument rests solely on injuries. That’s bs and not my argument. if you guys want to put the blame of not winning a SB on one person so be it. You’re wrong and you should know better. There was more than one factor. Not acknowledging it is strange That’s it for me here. I’ve said my peace on the matter.
  17. Yeah….they can perform…..vs another banged up team…. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. got it. Stating it was their PS…..while not acknowledging that we were also missing Von, hyde, daquan and phillips. Ed, Tre and Poyer all playing hobbled. Shaq, Ankou, Jaquan Johnson, marlowe, settle, elam, boogie and Dane all played significant snaps. uet it was their PS vs our starters? Riiiiight. Much respect to ya, but not acknowledging any of our injuries, while also using Cinci’s injuries as leverage is a weak battle. you don’t believe in McD. Cool. I’m not sure I do either. But I can acknowledge that it’s not one persons fault. That’s just ridiculous
  19. You don’t think injuries played any part? Execution? just McD. All his fault. Got it
  20. No, but their superstar elite difference maker that always seems to put his stamp on big games has never missed a playoff games. He’s different and we don’t have that. Von was that guy vs KC in the 22 regular season. He WAS the closer we needed. He closed that game out in KC, a true PTPer. Then he was gone and so was our PTPer. Maybe it’s McDs fault that our DL can’t win one on ones in the biggest games of the year. Guys need to make plays. It’s not 💯 coaching Yes, Spags is one of the best DCs ever. Another reason why McD hasn’t been able to overcome. McD had Allen and Diggs- no other elite players or coaches. KC has Reid and Spags calling all the plays. 2 elite HoF coaches. Mahomes, Kelce, Jones. 3 first ballot HoFers all likely top 5 in their positions all time. Mahomes and Kelce may end up both being the best. Plus several all pros many would call elite. And McD is supposed to beat them with half of his best players on D injured?
  21. It’s funny how you people can’t acknowledge how our talent level on defense was crippled due to injury. Acting as if a defensive coach should be able to overcome Mahomes and Reid with a bunch of backups on the field. Which team has done that before? Were the bengals missing half of their starting D when they beat KC in the playoffs? How about the Tampa D in the Super Bowl? The pats in 2019? No, no and no. again…..injuries weren’t the only reason. I acknowledge that McD has his shortcomings and they have contributed to us not winning any SBs. As has execution. As has injuries. Luck matters. 31 teams end up losers every year. Not acknowledging that the injuries have played a role in our defensive performances is just being stubborn. The resounding narrative: Allen needs better WRs. Implying that in order to win, he needs better players. Meanwhile, McD is expected to overcome the adversity of fielding backups at almost 50% of starting D positions….while playing against Mahomes and Reid. Got it. Say samuel, Dawkins and Kincaid miss the playoffs. Overcome adversity. Riiiiight. No. Season over.
  22. It was astonishingly bad defense. And again- We were missing our two stud Lbs that were the pulse for our defense to start the season. our mlb and player that gave up 2 TDs, was on the couch every Sunday a month prior. We were missing both of our starting corners and Douglas had an injured knee. Our biggest investment on D (von) was useless. Our biggest offseason acquisition (floyd) played 38% of the snaps after having already run out of gas in week 11. Our 2 best DL (Rousseau and Oliver) got dominated in their one on ones. our starting safeties - 1 signed for 2M. The might be retired. But yeah- Stop Mahomes and Kelce. More importantly, stop them with AJ Klein covering Kelce.
  23. Right, in games where we had no defensive lines and no pass rush. He needed more pass rush talent because Beane invested in the wrong guys. (Murphy, star, Addison, butler). We had one starting caliber DL, Jerry. You know this. We all know you know this. We’ve all read your posts stating how Beanes poor allocation of resources into our DL has cost us big time. Every offseason we talked about how we can fix our pass rush because Jerry wasn’t enough. Ed oliver to the rescue. Rousseau, epenesa, Basham all drafted to fix the problem. That didn’t happen. So we break the bank for Von Miller. And that actually worked…..until that unfortunate Thanksgiving day that we lost von for the next 2 playoffs (and maybe his career). so McD is supposed to stop KC and Cinci with addison, Shaq, butler, settle, always injured Phillips, star, Murphy, Basham and AJ rushing the passer. Got it. Rousseau is a very good DL, but only a slightly above average pass rusher. AJ is solid. Floyd and Miller were nonexistent in the playoffs. Ed is great, but was completely shut down vs KC in the playoffs- as he had to play 80% of the snaps. Mcdermott couldn’t find a way to stop Mahomes and Kelce with AJ Klein out there the entire game with no pass rush. Talent matters…..just like it matters for playmakers offense. How many super bowls are won by teams with no pass rush and a crap DL? Not many. That said, I don’t think McD is without fault. He has been part of the problem in season ending losses. Other parts include injuries, offensive/defensive game plan and execution.
