Projecting the Top 100 NFL Rookies of 2018
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think The Process is to have Allen ready to start next year. In that context, #34 of the top 100 rookies this year would be about right. -
omygosh that arm. That cannon arm. "the ball leaps out of his hand"... Give him top quality receivers and he will make the deep strike like we havnt seen since Kelly. He will be so exciting to watch. Maybe he throws some ducks and some INTs, he is also going to throw super long TDs, he is going to force the Defense to loosen up and defend the long ball and give Shady or whomever lots of holes to run through. I cannot wait to see this develop. "as a piece of clay to be molded, he is the best QB" (or something like that) ... and that is EXACTLY what McDermott wants. McDermott wants a piece of clay to mold into his image of the perfect QB. And he knows what that looks like. Add on top of his raw ability, he has openly stated from Draft night on that he wants to "work hard" and "learn" ... 180 degrees out from what Rosen has been about ... there was no choice to make here. The Process has been dreaming about Allen since April 2017. Make no mistake, they got their guy AND HE IS THE RIGHT GUY FOR THEM.

Maybe the Jills did not have it so bad....

I was waiting for this ... When done right, Cheerleading is a bona fide sport. It takes talent, hard work, and can actually be quite dangerous. Having that as a part of the entertainment - at appropriate times (e.g., during TV timeout) - would be a positive for the NFL. Unfortunately, that's not the kind of "cheerleading" offered by NFL teams. Having grown women doing silly little dance routines is unnecessary, and ends up being annoying when the actual game is being played. I too am amazed the practice has survived into 2018. -
Turning Point for the Pegulas
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to napmaster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the turning point was when they fired Rex & Whaley and hired McBeane. -
young Jim was probably still legally drunk from the night before when he took it. It was a different era. Lots of people didn't take that kind of thing seriously. You didn't need to have a sterling record of standardized test scores to get into college, or to get a good job. Especially a future pro-level athlete. He probably treated it as a complete joke. He's a smart guy, as he showed on the field. Wonder what his score would be in this day and age. I'm guessing similar to Allen.

Mel Kiper's 2018 NFL draft grades (Bills #1)
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Guys, Darnold and Mayfield were off the board, it was Allen or Rosen. Allen is a project with huge potential, the difference between him and Rosen is Allen knows he has work to do and is eager to work hard and take direction. Rosen is more ready but thinks he knows more than his coaches and teammates and anyway hey its only football there are more interesting things in life right? Which personality do you think McDermott wants as his QB? Which do you? BTW I would have also been happy taking Jackson at 22 but he was not a #12 pick. So lets say Beane took a non-QB at 12 and Jackson was scooped up before 22 ... would have been a disaster. SO you see Allen was the best possible pick. Moving up didn't cost us that much and locked in a top 4 QB. Grade: A. -

I was actually hoping we would draft Jackson with our #22 pick and get both. Why not? -

The Bills picked Luke Skywalker over Vader
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to Batman1876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
thank you. this is more like it. -
Almost anything a 16 year old does short of a felony act can and should be forgiven and forgotten, as science has shown teenage brains are not fully developed and a 16 year old literally does not have the capacity to make adult decisions. They neither fully understand what they say or the consequences of their saying it. Believe me, I have two teenagers I know. Some adults are like that too, but once the brain is developed there is no longer an excuse. The guy dredging this up is either a dirt-sucking tool or yes there is an agenda to make Allen fall.

Would a dark horse team trading up & the Bills didn’t surprise you? Does Bruno Mars is gay? WTF does this title even mean? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjQ2LOJ8NHaAhWPiOAKHaC_DOsQFgg0MAM&url=http%3A%2F%2Fknowyourmeme.com%2Fmemes%2Fdoes-bruno-mars-is-gay&usg=AOvVaw3vpgecqogedphdWkhVZg_c

Beane cost us the 3rd overall pick. JMO
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to CuddyDark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whaley would have traded everything for a higher pick, then ignored all the top QB talent and reached for a middling QB with the "it" factor and screwed us for years to come. We know this because it has already happened. End of thread. (drops mic)
