Josh Allen ain’t bad

I had to listen on WGR radio stream but sounded like the kid made some impressive throws and reads. He is soon to be The Guy. -
There are no longer news "reporters", only news repeaters. The host likely never read the actual scouting report, she was handed a couple bullet points on the teleprompter and picked one to talk about for oh, 10 seconds. Of course whoever put the talking points together didn't do any real research either and just repeated the "conventional wisdom" that the order of precedence would be based on which team guys are playing with. No journalism required … throw some inaccurate information out there, next bullet point, does my hair look OK? Most of what some people call "fake news" isn't so much false reporting as lazy reporting. Just look at the substandard editing in major big-name newspapers (even WSJ, NYT) and you will see that journalism in America is dead. Pity.

It May Be Time To Think Big With The Bills
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching the Bills choke on almost every primetime game the last 15 years could have something to do with it... But yeah, I'm with you. Its a whole new era so to speak. Starts with ownership and works its way down. I think 8-8 minimum, likely 9-7 or better and possibly wildcard again. -

So how is josh Rosen doing.
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A summary of my comments in other threads: Rosen is a talented QB who may well outshine Allen coming out the gate. However he is not a franchise QB. I predict he will be highly successful on the field but routinely crap on his teammates, coaches, and management. He will change teams often and end up leaving the NFL to do color commentary for ESPN and/or run for political office, probably in California. I give him 5 years in the NFL. He'll leave on his own terms, and forever say "I could have been the GOAT, if NFL football were not beneath my dignity." -
Allen already a factor in QB race ?
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
tks Defense. I've been on the Allen train since BEFORE the pick (that could well go on my profile some day) but with a questionable O-line and possibly losing our HOF level RB do not be surprised if he struggles coming out the gate. I am fully prepared for Rosen to outshine Allen this year assuming they both play. But as McBeane continue to build a playoff team Allen will eventually emerge as the best QB of his class. As for Rosen, I predict he will be highly successful on the field, will routinely ^%^* on his teammates, coaches, and management, will change teams annually, and end up leaving the NFL to do color commentary for ESPN and/or run for political office in about 5 years. -
I honestly don't care what private schools do, but public schools already spend too much taxpayer money being the NFL's farm teams. The NFL should fund its own farm teams, like baseball.

free tuition, room/board, big man on campus status, oh and don't forget the really good ones get a shot at multi-million dollar NFL careers. yeah, lets also give them cash.

Philadelphia PD may beg to differ... -
this would make more sense if we had drafted Iowa QB C.J. Beathard last year...

Why the hate for Josh Allen?
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fair enough but you will have to give it 3-5 years. Its quite possible Rosen lights it up out the gate but gets injured or loses interest early. -

I suspect some TBD posters will judge Allen by what Rosen produces for the Cards. -

Why the hate for Josh Allen?
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im already loving that two people chose option #2. Having lived through both JP and EJ, I can respect that stance. Unfortunately I suspect more people hate him due to options #3 and 4. -
Why the hate for Josh Allen?
JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS replied to JOE IN HAMPTON ROADS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I gave you several options Tom ... -
Last April, Brandon Beane scored a coup of sorts by landing Josh Allen as our first round pick. Due to some questionable decision-making by Cleveland and others, Allen was still on the board when we were able to move up and take him before Phoenix, forcing the Cards to settle for the Other Josh. By most accounts, Allen has the most potential upside of any of the QBs in the draft, although he may be the least ready to play right now. He has the physique of an NFL QB, with a cannon arm that seems to effortlessly sling the ball deep across the field. He's smart, but recognizes he has a lot to learn. He has a killer work ethic. And he seems to be really happy to be a Buffalo Bill. Oh, and he was drafted by the people who found a way to get Buffalo to the playoffs for the first time in a generation. While most fans of a team bereft of top-tier QB talent for several decades would be overjoyed to get a pick with a legitimate shot at becoming a franchise quarterback, for some reason the vast majority of TBD posters seem to have it in for Allen. Many topics, and the vast majority of replies, tend to denigrate Allen. A casual fan reading TBD would be inclined to believe that Josh Allen is a total joke, a waste of several picks would not even make the roster on a decent team. The hate is palpable. Maybe its just our collective Post-Kelly Stress Disorder, but we as fans have been anything but excited to have Allen on our team. Instead of rolling out the red carpet, we've practically packed him into a wooden crate and shipped him back home to Wyoming (or California, or wherever). To help me wrap my head around this strange phenomenon, please choose the reason you hate Josh Allen. Feel free to add your own reason below.
