Vikings fans already bemoaning the trade
eball replied to Thunderstruck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I can say is that it’s a damn shame Beane MORTGAGED THE FUTURE for Diggs. -
I find your logic paradoxically curious. Exactly how well do the Rams match up with the Bills' offense? They have two great players -- Donald and Ramsey -- and a bunch of "meh" otherwise. They have a first year DC. I have Rams fan friends, and they are anything but confident about this game. The one thing the Bills have going for them if Milano and Edmunds can't return is they now have game film to study and correct with the replacements. They also can scheme things a bit differently. The overall talent level between these two teams is either even, or slanted towards the Bills. McVay is the "sensitive genius" but I don't think you say the Rams are better coached overall than the Bills. This should be a tight game, but it's far from a "bad matchup" for the Bills.

They know each other beyond "on the field" -- a year or two ago they were playing together in a golf tournament w/ Darnold. It wouldn't surprise me if Fitz told him something like, "you keep that up, kid, and they'll build you a statue in Buffalo."

I really don't think you understand how this works. Who said to use Diggs as a decoy?
-
I’m already willing to admit it, I was wrong on Diggs

But Beane MORTGAGED THE FUTURE for Diggs!!! Talk about an overused, typically misinformed take. Diggs has been everything we wanted and then some. -
I'll admit it is satisfying to know that what I saw with my own two eyes led me to the conclusion long before now that this is exactly the sort of QB we could have, and I didn't allow myself to be swayed by analytics nerds who don't factor in the totality of the circumstances when evaluating a college QB's performance and potential. Josh Allen went from a nobody in Wyoming to a top ten draft pick because of what he did in college, knowing that he had no specific QB upbringing or training to speak of but was gifted with freakish athletic ability and the work ethic and desire to be great. He was as raw as they come and was always going to need some time. I hope this is a ride we're on for the next 10-15 years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Bills' postseason chances improve with a loss to an NFC team. It's all about the tiebreakers.

What you are saying goes completely against everything McD's Buffalo Bills are about. Everything. I guarantee you the thought of trying to "show up" Jalen Ramsey is not part of the discussion in preparation for Sunday's game.

Now is the time for my biweekly reminder that you can't say "pffffft" without PFF.

The Allen to Brown bomb while up 24-20 with 3:00 to go says “hi.”
-
Actually, teasing the Rams to +9 is the smart play.

But don’t take my word for it, here are the coach’s words: "I think some defensive head coaches take the approach of continuing to pad their side of the ball and they like winning, 11-9 ... and having no hair, I guess," McDermott said. He lifted his cap to show his bald head and gave the smile of a coach with a 2-0 record. "Whereas, for me, I don't like winning, 11-9. I like winning. But I just feel like, to have a good football team that can sustain success, you need to have a balanced football team. And, so, Brandon Beane and his staff did a great job of continuing to look offensively what we could add to what we had. I think you're seeing the result of some of that."

They didn’t try to shut it down in the 3rd quarter...they were only up 7! That’s a ridiculous statement. They lost their rhythm, which is something that has been happening to Josh consistently. The defense also gave up successive long drives. There is no lesson to learn from yesterday aside from the lesson that the Bills now have an offense capable of playing in a shootout if necessary.

Week 2 Bills @ Dolphins Postgame Thread

Love every bit of it. We deserve this. Go Bills! -
Led by you. Wrong again, Scott.

Gunner, I respect the hell out of you, but it’s time for us to realize that McD is an adaptive coach who isn’t blind to what football looks like in the 2020s. He’s not “conservative” — he wants to win and now that he has an offense capable of putting pressure on teams he will use it.
-
I’ve been saying until I’m blue in the face, we can’t call McD “conservative” because he hasn’t had an offense. All of you know-it-alls can stuff it in a sock.

Week 2 Bills @ Dolphins 1st Half Gameday Thread
eball replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m worried about Bass. That PAT was about 6 inches to the right of center. -
Blah, blah, blah, win a playoff game, blah, blah, blah, beat the Pats***, blah, blah, blah, score more points, blah, blah, blah, I’ll believe it when I see it, blah, blah, blah... Sincerely, Scott

Dude, you’re miserable. And I’ve been right about McD’s Bills much more than I’ve been wrong. Feel free to research my post history.

I think the team seeing a smattering of Bills fans in Miami is going to be another huge boost for this team. Imagine being the Fish, opening up your stadium to a limited number of fans, and then seeing a lot of them being taken up by Bills Mafia. Can’t wait.
-
I think you were happier when the Bills stunk.
-
That’s correct — he makes that tackle 9 out of 10 times, it was a busted play.
