Full Chris Simms Visit with Josh Allen
eball replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow, Beane really lucked into this pick, seeing as he can't evaluate offense and all. -
Brandon and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

Gunner, what you say is how you feel, but it's not how a pretty vocal contingent of fans on this board feel. You know it's true. I'm not thin skinned and Beane's record stands for itself. My goal is to make light of the negative ninnies who cry wolf every time things don't go perfectly, and those who harp on the same things again and again and again. I guarantee you Beane felt worse after January's playoff loss then he does this week. -

At least be original. Your puppetmaster hates it that I ignore him. -

Yeah, dude, that's kinda the point. People are going ape-s-h-i-t over some stuff that isn't a disaster at all. -
Apparently Bills' GM Brandon Beane just had the "worst week of his tenure" as the Bills' GM. Let's recap: - traded former 2nd round pick Cody Ford to the Cardinals for a 5th rounder after coming to the conclusion Ford would not start on this OL - released 6th round pick Matt Araiza after sexual assault allegations were revealed in a civil lawsuit - released FA TE OJ Howard, costing the Bills just under 3M against this year's salary cap As far as I am aware, Beane's dog did not pee on his shoes and his wife did not leave him. He is still the GM of the team with the best Vegas odds to win the next Super Bowl. He also just came off an offseason in which he signed future HOF edge rusher Von Miller and orchestrated a draft that is likely to yield several key contributors. He also beefed up a defensive line that while statistically sound, could never finish the deal against Mahomes and the Chiefs. He added multiple pieces to the offensive line for both starter and depth options. If only our worst-ever weeks in our jobs could look like this.

I think you answered both my and your own question. Your "personal opinion" carries little weight in the Bills' FO, and apparently with the rest of the NFL world as well, because nobody viewed that pick as one to supplant Singletary as a starter in 2022.
-
The nine players most likely to make up the Bills' DL rotation this season account for roughly 13.5% of the salary cap. I'll leave it to others to decide whether that is extravagant or not.
-
Please name anyone (besides a fan) who thought Cook was supposed to be the starting RB for this team. Anyone.
-
I dunno...pretty much every post? It's ok, buddy...I think you'll enjoy watching the team if you try.
-
Again with the hyperbole. He had a rough week. One bad draft pick he got something for three years later, another bad draft pick he had to cut for reasons out of his control, and a 1-year FA signing that didn't pan out. Why do some insist upon acting as though this is a disaster?
-
Your "clearly prioritized" is another man's "responsibly addressed." You refuse to acknowledge and/or poo-poo any moves on offense as "not good enough" for your liking, but it is "clear" that Beane emphasizes both sides of the ball in his offseason activities. I empathize with you. You act like it doesn't mean anything to you, but you participate in nearly every thread and repeat the same things over and over and over. It must be extremely frustrating. Cheer up, buddy. The Bills will win a few games this year and perhaps you'll find some joy in it.
-
Not him. Although even he has gotten a little testy recently.
-
And again, I'm just not a fan of hyperbole. The poster I commented about is acquiring a reputation. I don't think it's awful to call him out on it.
-
And those incidents you lay out still do not trump what appears to be an awesome draft and the other FA acquisitions made this offseason. You want to say he had a bad week, fine -- in the grand scheme of things it's a blip.
-
So you are on record agreeing that the OJ Howard cut is "brutal on many fronts" and Beane is "taking a lot of Ls" recently? Noted.
-
So too, I'm finding, are your posts. It's all well and good to critique what the GM does -- we all do it -- but hyperbole is hyperbole.
-
Did I say that? I honestly don't remember. If I did, it was (a) before the Panthers announced they would play their starters, and (b) because betting the overs in preseason is almost always a good call. I'll stand by my predictions over the past five years with no apologies or regrets whatsoever. You're the one who should be hiding his face around here.
-
Nice of you to add the "aging" in there. Not like you have an agenda or anything. Crowder is a proven vet WR, but I guess he means nothing to you. OJ was a good swing and miss. Quessenberry will probably start at RT. Mancz will be a backup C. Oh, and they also brought back Bates, which IS a FA transaction. Keep crusading, man.

I think you need to re-read the definitions of right and wrong...lol

And Frost threw his coaching staff under the bus after the game as well. He’s a douche. Never liked Nebraska, don’t care about them now.
-
Happy B-day, bro! You’re still trailing me by a bit but catching up!

Any Vikings fans? Wondering how Horrible Harry is faring there

Lighten up, Francis. -
And vice versa. I’m sure those two have great conversations.
