I felt like Josh took the easy throw almost the entire game last night (and was very good at them) except for basically 3 throws. Look at his spray chart. https://x.com/NextGenStats/status/1701441061560934432?s=20 It was just that the three times he didnt it was a pick. On the int that was to Davis he had Kincaid underneath that would have likely been a first too. But this idea that he was reckless all night isnt accurate. He took the easy stuff most of the night, I think he almost gets bored though.

One x-factor is scheme. Were so used to Frazier being here but we dont know what the McD defense will look like. -
I Am Not Optimistic Going Into This Season

Can you imagine any team without their Franchise QB? What are we even saying here? We have better skill position players than the Chiefs FWIW. What are the Bengals doing without Burrow, how is their O-line? Burrow was sacked 41 times last year (6th in the league) and they beat our brains in in the playoffs. Every single fan base hates their O-line. Josh runs out of clean pockets all the time. -

Continue to neglect that...by having a top 3 offense in the league every year? 29 other teams are envious of our offense I really dont see a path for our offense to be worse than last year. Status quo I can comprehend but not worse than having to sign Brown/Cole late in the season. And that offense was top 3 in almost every metric. The defense has many more pathways to being worse statistically than last year (No Edmunds, aging secondary, Von out for significant time, change at DC). Im not saying it will happen but the pathways are there more-so than the offense. That said I will take that if they can situationally show up when it matters in the playoffs. End of the day ill take improved offense and worse defense any day. -

Speculation and discussion on Bills final roster cuts

Thats why I said its more important to have individual game wreckers than regular season statistics. -
Now do all the other teams...

Speculation and discussion on Bills final roster cuts
jletha replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
To me the nail in the coffin was that the Bengals were starting 3 backups or backups-of-backups on the O-line still bullied our line and Burrow dices us up. It wasnt even a stalemate, we had nothing. And then the Chiefs, who were statistically a worse defense, handled them. It doesnt matter about regular season stats its about handling the team in the moment and having individual game wreckers. -
Brandon Beane admitting fault & not learning from his mistakes.

yea hitting on the most important position in all of team sports is usually pretty important. Many GMs have been fired for missing on QBs, I dont get how youre using it as a knock on him. Edmunds was also a very good 1st round pick. -
Tre was held out for exactly one year. Might be smart to just mentally prepare for that same timeline with Von and be pleasantly surprised if he comes back sooner.
-
He was on PUP to stary the season. They just brought him off to practice and he took a roster spot for like 3 games or something.
-
No but if he wasnt on the PUP list he can still practice and come back at some point in the first 4 week. Now he cant even practice for the first 4 games. After that it will likely be 1-2 weeks before he plays. This move sets his timeline more or less to miss 6 games.

OT…All is not going well on South Beach
jletha replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea theres much more space to run on the far side of the field. If you get a couple O-linemen out ahead of a fast QB/RB on a pull sweep concept they can really take off. Plus the QB play in college is generally worse so running becomes more efficient than running in the NFL. -

My understanding based on reading/hearings things over the years: College football (and HS) went to spread offenses in the 2000s and quickly that offense became popular in the NFL. The spread offense is still popular in college with some adjustments and has success so players want to play on winning teams. The main thing there is to get people in space, even when they run the ball it is getting the O-line downfield. Therfore the priority is leaner faster players that can run on the O-line. This body style is what will get you recruited to top NCAA programs so that is the body type the top HS players go for. The big fat boys arent recruited as highly. The top programs feed into the NFL. The leaner, faster O-lineman arent as capable to just anchor and block, theyre trained to run more. The flipside of this is the hulking neckroll downhill LB. That player isnt useful against a spread offense where you need lateral quickness so it went away and a Nickel DB is now a base defense. Remember the days when we would argue about 3-4 or 4-3. Now we are only have 2 starting LBs. Its all just long term trends. -
Josh Allen and starters will play against the Bears

Idlove to know how much of this is McD *telling* the offense their playing vs Josh/Dorsey wanting to play. My guess is 50/50. -
The 3 Kincaid catches- we have another elite weapon on o

Seems like youre cherry picking the 3-5 Bills fan that say he will be the next Kelce. The vast majority thinks he has a high ceiling and are optimistic and think he will do well -

As long as Mahomes is still standing upright they wont lose the division. -
Few things not being talked about concerning this offense.
jletha replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen has always had a tendency for happy feet in the pocket because of his athleticiscm. When he doesnt trust the protection he will bail early. What that means is that he will bail early out of clean pockets as well. That hurts the Oline play. Its a viscous cycle. -

I think were definitely going to see more dime packages this year. I have zero faith Dodson can cover the likes of Kelce or Andrews.
