  1. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1696880451481223324?s=20 Remember when Roseman drafted this guy one spot before Justin Jefferson...Im sure they are calling for his head in Philly
  2. Thats why I said its more important to have individual game wreckers than regular season statistics.
  3. To me the nail in the coffin was that the Bengals were starting 3 backups or backups-of-backups on the O-line still bullied our line and Burrow dices us up. It wasnt even a stalemate, we had nothing. And then the Chiefs, who were statistically a worse defense, handled them. It doesnt matter about regular season stats its about handling the team in the moment and having individual game wreckers.
  4. yea hitting on the most important position in all of team sports is usually pretty important. Many GMs have been fired for missing on QBs, I dont get how youre using it as a knock on him. Edmunds was also a very good 1st round pick.
  5. Tre was held out for exactly one year. Might be smart to just mentally prepare for that same timeline with Von and be pleasantly surprised if he comes back sooner.
  6. He was on PUP to stary the season. They just brought him off to practice and he took a roster spot for like 3 games or something.
  7. No but if he wasnt on the PUP list he can still practice and come back at some point in the first 4 week. Now he cant even practice for the first 4 games. After that it will likely be 1-2 weeks before he plays. This move sets his timeline more or less to miss 6 games.
  8. Yea theres much more space to run on the far side of the field. If you get a couple O-linemen out ahead of a fast QB/RB on a pull sweep concept they can really take off. Plus the QB play in college is generally worse so running becomes more efficient than running in the NFL.
  9. My understanding based on reading/hearings things over the years: College football (and HS) went to spread offenses in the 2000s and quickly that offense became popular in the NFL. The spread offense is still popular in college with some adjustments and has success so players want to play on winning teams. The main thing there is to get people in space, even when they run the ball it is getting the O-line downfield. Therfore the priority is leaner faster players that can run on the O-line. This body style is what will get you recruited to top NCAA programs so that is the body type the top HS players go for. The big fat boys arent recruited as highly. The top programs feed into the NFL. The leaner, faster O-lineman arent as capable to just anchor and block, theyre trained to run more. The flipside of this is the hulking neckroll downhill LB. That player isnt useful against a spread offense where you need lateral quickness so it went away and a Nickel DB is now a base defense. Remember the days when we would argue about 3-4 or 4-3. Now we are only have 2 starting LBs. Its all just long term trends.
  10. Idlove to know how much of this is McD *telling* the offense their playing vs Josh/Dorsey wanting to play. My guess is 50/50.
  11. Seems like youre cherry picking the 3-5 Bills fan that say he will be the next Kelce. The vast majority thinks he has a high ceiling and are optimistic and think he will do well
  12. a punt is a turnover in the same way. No you must not remember when Joe Burrow shut down Mahomes in the AFC Championship game and had the interception in OT. Also when Joe Burrow ran back a fumble for 98 yards when they were about to lose to a third string QB.
  13. As long as Mahomes is still standing upright they wont lose the division.
  14. If were into 2020 Allen than we shouldnt be all that worried since he looked just as mediocre in a real game against those same Steelers in week 1. And than later against the Jags, and even worse against Indianapolis.
  15. Allen has always had a tendency for happy feet in the pocket because of his athleticiscm. When he doesnt trust the protection he will bail early. What that means is that he will bail early out of clean pockets as well. That hurts the Oline play. Its a viscous cycle.
  16. I think were definitely going to see more dime packages this year. I have zero faith Dodson can cover the likes of Kelce or Andrews.
  17. defense tends to be less consistent year over year than offense, there will likely be some level of regression. I dont think its realistic to just mentally plug AR onto last years team with last years defense.
  18. Only positive spin: Josh likes to escape right and is dangerous when he does. So many rushers will be instructed to not go too aggressive and leave any running lanes on the right side. But yea..its a problem
  19. i dont get what not showing up accomplishes though, towards improving effort in January
  20. Theres more interviews today after practice. Josh is scheduled to speak.
  21. So this is going to make McD, Josh, Dorsey, etc do what exactly? Oh Diggs caused drama at mini-camp, we better throw him the ball!
