  1. PayPal payment just sent for 8 tickets! Thank you. Rock
  2. Sorry for the silence from my end. The walk went great! The weather was fantastic - could not have asked for a better day. Thanks again to all my amazing sponsors! Right after the walk, I was called away to a family emergency out of town and just got back last night. Everything is OK, and no I am not going into any details. Thanks again!
  3. Sunny and cool in Rochacha - a beautiful spring day. Thanks to all who sponsored me, as promised - the grand total is (drum roll please) $1,020 You folks humble me.
  4. I went to WHAM1180 on line and sent a polite note to program manager Jeff Howlett that every time The Coach is on I will be changing the station, and explained WHY I was doing this. How else can I cast my vote?
  5. Tomorrow is my oldest daughter's 30th birthday and I do not feel old. Am I doing something wrong? Happy B-Day Melissa, consider the alternative to having more birthdays!
  6. Happy Birthday, Chris. Stay away from the Maui Wowie!
  7. Lots of beer and pot; it was 1970, and a dime bag really was $10. Happy Birthday. Have fun but be careful. That is the parent in me talking!
  8. I got it. There is no such thing as only ten bucks! God Bless you too. Sounds like your Mom has relapsing/remitting MS which is the "friendly" MS. That is what I have. You have an attack, it takes something away from you, and when the attack stops, it keeps a part of what it took from you. How is that for the man-on-the-street definition? Have your mom talk to her doctor (she should be seeing a neurologist who is also an opthamologist). I was starting to see double all the time, especially when I was tired. My neuro put a prism in one lens of my glasses, and the world is much clearer. I was wondering if I was going to have to stop driving! Richard Pryor had Primary Progessive MS which is the worst kind. That's what people picture when you say MS, because they can see it. MS is a strange disease because it is different for every person. I will post the total later today. My thanks to all.
  9. Thanks. I am particlarly interested in the X-Men, as I have followed their adventures since 1963. I am also anticipating the interpretation of the DaVinci Code.
  10. Sorry to hear this. This happened to me a long way back. A very good friend came to my house, had a few drinks and played some guitar with me, then went home and killed himself. It took me a long time to realize it was NOT my fault that I did not see this coming. I was between sorrow for him and anger that he left this for his few friends to deal with. Since then I have forgiven both of us. I forgave him for the pain he cause me, and I forgave myself for not being able to recognize or stop what was going to happen. Sometimes sh-- just happens. Look at the good he did for you, and be that way to others who need help. Life teaches hard lessons. After his funueral all his old buds got together and tied one on in his "honor". It was a lot like The Big Chill. We comforted each other and remembered the good times. He is not in pain now.
  11. I listened to about 15 minutes of the show. I was mostly in disbelief that anyone could make a career out of being Coach Dickerson. Rude Crude Ignorant Loud Insulting Worse than fingernails on a blackboard Never again WHAM! If Coach is on I will change the station!
  12. Mrs Rock and me saw them in China Town, NYC (but did not partake). Here is a recipe: Deep-Fried Twinkies From Good Morning America and Janet K. Keeler, St. Petersburg Times food editor 6 Twinkies Popsicle sticks 4 cups vegetable oil Flour for dusting 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons vinegar 1 Tablespoon oil 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Directions 1. Chill or freeze Twinkies for several hours or overnight. 2. Heat 4 cups vegetable oil in deep fryer to about 375 degrees. 3. Mix together milk, vinegar and oil. 4. In another bowl, blend flour, baking powder and salt. 5. Whisk wet ingredients into dry and continue mixing until smooth. Refrigerate while oil heats. 6. Push stick into Twinkie lengthwise, leaving about 2 inches to use as a handle, dust with flour and dip into the batter. Rotate Twinkie until batter covers entire cake. 7. Place carefully in hot oil. The Twinkie will float, so hold it under with a utensil to ensure even browning. It should turn golden in 3 to 4 minutes. Depending on the size of your deep fryer, you might be able to fry only one at a time, two at the most. 8. Remove Twinkie to paper towel and let drain. Remove stick and allow Twinkie to sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Makes 6. Note: I love that... You start with 6 Twinkies and the recipe makes 6 -
  13. Thanks for the bump, and thanks for the support, but please understand there is no "shame" if somebody does not sponsor me. We all have personal causes, tithes, and fund raisers we support and a person can only contribute what they contribute. As of today I am at $645 (received) with some more pledges in the mail. About 85% is from TSWers! That is up from $450 on April 26th. Thanks! The walk is Sunday if anyone still wants to jump in. sponsor me here and visit my team page from this link
  14. Are they playing at your wedding Saturday?
  15. Besides getting a professional to get them out of your house, check around your property. We used to see those large black ants all over the house every spring. It turned out they were living in a tree near the house that was beginning to age. We removed the tree. Also check firewood stacked outside or in the garage. good luck.
