  1. There is a political breaking point if too many games are moved to pay TV only. The NFL has been granted many huge financial, tax, labor law and regulatory breaks that could become at risk if pay TV is taken too far, too quick. Maybe as someone said, if some kind of online gambling benefits could also be somehow included with the rights to the buyer, both the buyer and the NFL could further profit.
  2. I'm not so worried about loosing Daboll. As long as he is replaced by a decent new OC. I am more worried about keeping the Allen/Diggs connection healthy. Diggs was the final piece of the puzzle. As long as they are in sync, and we have a decent Oline to protect Allen. the other pieces will continue to gel and fall into place. I am more worried that our ownership has a bad history of choosing coaches that destroyed a great defense. (Ryans). I just hope they don't repeat that error and screw this offense up.
  3. Very Impressed with his performance today. He was a beast! Seemed more impressive than either S&M have been so far this year. I get that by the time he got in the game that the Miami team defense might have been gassed and running for the bus. But it didn't seem like they were either. Did Miami ever pull their starters toward the end of the game? And remember that when he was in, the Buffalo Oline was basically backups. Was he playing with an Oline made up of backups and a backup QB, against one of the NFL's top Defenses still playing their starters? He impressed, while Knox on the other hand, underwhelmed. If Knox was playing against a D that was gassed running for the bus, why did he continue to so underwhelm. I kept thinking that even though is was Barkley and not Allen running the offense, why did I keep saying "If Diggs had been out there those passes that Knox missed would have been caught for huge gains". While at the same time Williams was being a true beast. I really look forward to next year to see if William's game yesterday was just a one time fluke. I also want to say that while Barkley is definitely no Allen, and he was shaky, he did his backup job reasonably well, and actually exceeded my low expectations.
  4. I sure hope he isn't planning on beating his own team.

  6. This is not at all that crazy or stupid. There is at least one bison farm in our area. The cost of having the farm care for another bison along with its herd and drive it to home games 8 plus times a year would be peanuts to the Bills. I bet the advertisement and free publicity it would provide to the farm and its products would be priceless beyond already being paid to house and care for another bison as part of their existing herd. Bison do not have to come from the midwest. They are bred and raised locally. They are not wild animals. Any more than cows or sheep, or lambs, pigs, chickens are. They are farm animals. It could easily be done. One nearby bison farm : http://www.mapleridgebisonranch.com/index.html
  7. Seems like a lot of former professional wrestling fans who believed that the sport was legit also follow football. No one would ever tank, yeah, sure. The NFL is a business. Money is what counts to the owners, not the sport. The coaches do what their bosses tell them to, or they get the word spread to the other owners that the don't do as they are told. Not good if you want to keep working in the league. Maybe players don't tank, but coaches put players in the right places and situations to succeed and motivate them to succeed. The opposite is true. Don't help motivate them, or put the wrong people, in the wrong places, at the wrong times, and bad moral effects the team and the individuals on the team. The tank is in!
  8. The problem is lack of standards and accountability. Refs should be held accountable for bad calls that affect the outcome of a game. And bad judgement. Mess up, get a week no pay. Mess up, get demoted. Mess up too much, lose your job. Strict accountability. Only the best of the best get to play in the NFL. Only the best should be officiating the best.
  9. I don't think it has gotten better. The players have gotten bigger, stronger, faster and more massive. And that means the sport is more dangerous for the players. The league has needed to compensate for that with stricter safety rules so they would continue to have enough live, healthy, uncrippled players to deliver a decent product to the viewers. And at the moment we are lucky enough to have a surplus of new dynamic, exciting, and talented QBs. But I think that is just a short term bubble, after a few years of a serious lack of decent young QBs coming along to replace the older, decent retiring ones. Think about that time period where Luck was a true rarity coming out,, and injuries so quickly shortened his career.
  10. Agree. I agreed with it when it was posted. Hope the REAL AJ is the player we saw the past few weeks, and not the sorry one we saw before the original post.
  11. And the rich get richer! Everyone wants to be on a Super Bowl team.
  12. Scam Scam Scam. The voting this year requires you to create an account. Had to turn off all my security features, add blockers etc. just to get to an account creation screen. You have to agree to let them sell your info, email just to create an account. Even after you give them all the info, and it all is checked as okay, you get an error message saying they are unable to create your account. The voting is fixed!
  13. It was difficult to see a lot on the CBS broadcast. One of the worst ever. Minimal repays. Not showing the plays on called penalties or possible questionable calls like sideline plays and catches. Did CBS sign up for the super economy package with less cameras or something? Does the number of cameras covering a game vary just like the quality of the broadcast crew covering the game, depending on how important the network feels the game is to the nationwide audience? Felt like I was watching the game through a slit in the fence from such poor game coverage.
  14. It seemed to be no coincidence that the running game finally got on track the first game that Feliciano was back. Other than Allen, Diggs and Feliciano seem to make this offense really click. Like others asked, I do wonder what the coaches saw that caused them to pull Bates at center. He seemed to be doing the job. And keeping Feliiano at guard and Bates at center would have given Feliciano more freedom to cause the havoc he is so good at causing to the opposing D on running plays.
  15. Brady got to choose what team he went to. He wisely chose a team with a great existing roster. And other good FA players in turn selected to join the team based on that same great roster and the "Brady Mystique", and the rich roster just got even richer. On the other hand Covid Opt-outs, years of poor drafting, and FA loses decimated the 2020 Patriots. And while Belichick may be a great coach, he is not an easy coach to play for. FA players played for the Pats because of the reputation that it was a winning team and the winning "Brady Mystic". They overlooked what a true pain it was to be coached by Belichick because they foremost wanted to be on a " sure winner". Knowing that Belichick has no personal loyalty to individual players, and believes that every player is an expendable tool to be tossed away when they start to decrease in value to the team does not make the Pats a team FAs want to play for without that sure thing winning allure.. Without Brady and all the missing talent, why choose to put up with Belichick as your boss.
  16. Based on the percentage of their income this year (422 million) it is historic alright. Percentage wise about as historic as a $40 fine on an individual making $ 50,000 a year. That REALLY will set them back and teach them a painful lesson!🤣
  17. I I don't have access to the All 20 ,so I can't see how Addison is doing setting the edge. I only know when watching the TV broadcast I'm constantly screaming "set the *** edge" just before someone sprints along the outside for a big gain or a first down. Nobody seems to know how to set the edge this year on defense. Lawson did it consistently last year.
  18. I get so tired of hearing Lawson was not an "elite" pass rusher. So what. He was very good at setting the edge. How many times have we seen the opposing offense and qbs take it around the edge for first downs and big gains this year now that he is gone. You need someone good at setting the edge, as well as someone good at rushing the passer.
  19. People here always put down Lawson because they said he was very good at setting the edge, but it wasn't enough, it really was all about the sacks. And he did not get enough of them. Now see what happens in 2020 with the run when you don't have someone good at setting the edge.
  20. Sadly I agree. I have always been a Hughes fan. He was a great player for us, but as in NFL football, sooner or later Father Time catches up with you. Father Time has caught up with Hughes. Hughes, it was a good run, thank you for all the effort and dedication, and thank you for the memories. But Father time has won.
  21. Now is not the time to stand pat on defense. 5 straight games with this roster is not a fluke. Poor drafting and FA signings, and letting good talent go, by McBean are hurting us. There are obvious major problems with the level of talent on our defensive roster. New blood is needed. Our defensive roster clearly is substandard. Our SB window is now open, it won't stay open for more than a year or two before the cap will cause us to make tough choices and give up some of the important pieces of the team that help make us competitive. The time is now!
  22. If he is on the Practice Squad, unless he is protected every week, it costs no picks to sign him to the Buffalo active roster. It is not a trade.
  23. That is what the practice squad is for. Not the active roster. Knox needs to earn his spot on the roster. He has not. If you can't run proper routes in your 2nd year and still can't consistently catch the ball, your place is on the practice squad. That is the place for players that you have patience for them to improve while in their 2nd year. Look at Zay Jones, on another team he still can't consistently catch the ball. Barely 50% of catches vs targets after 4 years (119/233). NFL teams can't afford too much patience on active roster players and still be winners.
  24. Just ask yourself. Would you rather spend a 4th round pick on Davis, who has caught EVERYTHING thrown to him in his first 4 games of his rookie season after a severely limited training camp and no preseason games. Who is already savvy enough to tap and drag his toes to stay in bounds. Who already has two clean touchdowns on 8 pass attempts. Who in his first 4 games of his rookie season is already ranked 17th in touchdowns and 15th in average yards. Or a 2nd round pick on Jones, who as a vet of many seasons still has questionable hands, too many drops, and struggles to get separation in the NFL.
  25. I know it is a bad take for the members of this board, but I think Darnold still might have what it takes, and could still develop into a Franchise QB for the right team, if he got away from the toxic environment of the Jets soon enough before they permanently ruin him.
