I think this too. If you're reaching out to the GM - I have to think you're asking to take some kind of roll. I just can't see how a GM could approve that. Not that Christie couldn't be helpful or that reaching out wasn't appreciated but what do you say to the coach on staff? I mean does the coach listen in - does he wait to hear from Carp what was shared - what happens if there's even a small contradiction?

C'mon cut them some slack. It was obviously an important place for them and it's ok with me if they vent a little. Yes multiple threads have been started but it's clearly just getting some emotions out. I'm 42 years old and as silly as it sounds my post total means a little something to me as I'm sure something similar there meant something to them. Then to start over at 1 post can be a deflating feeling. It takes a long time to get to know someone through their posts and I'm sure they feel like a lot of their posting personality was taken from them. I think if we just give them a little time to get this stuff out of their system we'll have some fantastic posters to interact with.

I don't think NRC getting cut has much to do with what they'll do with the outside guys. However I'm a little surprised because to me NRC is a liability in man coverage due to his height but in a zone I thought he'd excel with his ability to cover a lot of ground. Oh well. Dareus is actually built for the defense as well and the 3 tech is the pure definition of what he is. I think the perfect fit is for Washington to spell Kyle and Dareus in specific situations. The better he plays the more time he'll get - but there's a ton available in a 4-3 defense that relies on pressure.

I agree with this. The pro day and combine are nice to watch but the film should create your opinion and a GM's decision. Pro day and combine for the teams are used to confirm a thing or two you either like or don't like - and to take a look at a few things they have been working on that they didn't necessarily do as a collegiate, i.e. 5 step drop, take snaps from under center.

Tanking in the NFL would only be for one reason - QB. Tanking in the NHL or NBA could mean that one player turns the entire team around and the odds are pretty decent. In the NFL the odds the QB you'd tank for works out are so very very low.

I don't think they are going to do it. However there's a decent argument they should. It's a tough thing to do in the NFL. I could only see a scenario if we're 2-10 or something like that - you could start making some decisions to pursue it.

This could happen. Beyond projections that he'd be the number one pick whatever year he decides to come out - we'll just have to see how he plays. If he builds on last year it will become more likely, obviously.

That and every good team in the NHL tanked to build back up. Do your research before making up analogies or stick to one sport, sport.
