  1. You really want Grossman or Beck?
  2. The guy is ~ 6' 188, that's your definition of a midget? Also, this guy is a down field burner, not a "waterbug" like Parrish. He plays a completely different game. I think you got some bad information.. Nice point, although he's a long shot. According to rivals.com his career long reception was 107 yards... pretty impressive http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/players/152424 Thats yahoo sports for you.
  3. Good point. Don't forget our "depth" at o-line and WR which he was playing with in the pre-season last year was less than NFL level. I liked the Thigpen signing, but there is no denying that he looked absolutely awful in our limited looks at him last year. Perhaps training camp and a deeper team will make him look a little more like the quality backup the Bills thought they signed. And again, signing Corp as a sleeper prospect to groom was a very solid move IMO. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/best-undrafted-players-2012-offense-190032664.html
  4. Other than RG3 and Luck, Corp has just as good a chance or better than any of the other QB's in that draft IMO. This is a steal for the Bills. He was highly recruited out of high school, then beat out Barkley in training camp. He didn't get much draft attention because his college career was derailed by injuries (and Barkley). The best part about it is no risk, he didn't cost a pick and if this kid ends up being a bum we are no worse off than we are now. Best case scenario, when healthy he is the stud QB USC thought he was...
  5. Don't forget Lindell is aging and finished the season on IR, and we used 3 kickers last year (the replacements sucked). Not an awful idea to at least see what the kid can do with the 3rd to last pick in the draft. We could have emulated the Jags, and grabbed a punter in the 3rd...
  6. No way anyone would give up a 3rd for this guy, but I would be thrilled if they did. I like McGee, but with his injury history and his veteran salary he is likely gone. McKelvin is certainly a target to get cut as well. I would think Florence would stay as a veteran backup and nickle guy. Leaving Rogers and Brooks as the 4 and 5 guys. McKelvin might sneak his way onto the team, but at this point I think we should just move on. He just isn't good, never has a clue where the ball is or how to play it without getting a penalty. Yes Brooks is a lock baring some sort of mental break down, criminal charge, or horrifically bad offseason. He is a pretty highly regarded guy, taken with a relatively valuable 4th round pick. This of course assumes Gilmore and Williams as starters, but Florence may still start the season. Also, I highly doubt the Bills keep more than 5 CB's, figuring that we will have at least 4 safeties as well. If Rogers is practice squad eligible, it may be a way to sneak McKelvin onto the roster... The only other way he makes it is if the Bills cut Florence, which seems unlikely.
  7. This guy is nothing like Roscoe Parrish IMO. He is pure speed, not necessarily shifty. Roscoe was the opposite, one of the shiftiest guys in the NFL, but not necessarily the fastest. Also, size wise this guy "towers" over Roscoe. Approximately 6' 180 lbs. Roscoe is listed at 5-9 170, but when you seem him in person it sure looks a lot more like 5-8 160. Graham is a track guy and probably compares more to Andre Davis (who I went to high school with) who played with Vick in college. Hopefully he is better.
  8. Haha, I did the same thing. I assumed that it must of been an old article when I first saw it, apparently the guy was really struggling to find 20 players... Possibly the worst "writer" on the face of the planet.... I frequently go to yahoo for "news", if for no other reason then it's fun to read the comments...It's well known that they have the sorriest excuse for a "sports section" that I have ever heard of though...
  9. There should be some sort of mandatory punishment for such irresponsible fathering. The last thing this world needs is 10 more Cromarties... In China he would have had the death penalty by now for having that many kids...
  10. My biggest fear is this... http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2012/03/nick-mangold-jets-sister-holley-mangold-olympics-weightlifting/1#.T4hg8TFYvg0
  11. For me it's about staying in Buffalo, if a stadium downtown means the Bills stay in Buffalo then I don't care what it looks like or how it works. Building a new stadium for the Bills would be a long term commitment to the team, and I am all for that. A new stadium will never be built in Orchard Park IMO. I certainly favor the bad weather aspect of an open stadium (not that it's ever helped the Bills), but a Dallas like stadium would be fine by me. Cover the fans, leave the field open.
  12. There is nothing about the thought of Braylon Edwards that makes me "feel good". First and foremost, the guy is not a good football player. He was cocky and overrated coming out of college, and has exactly 1 serviceable year of football in the NFL IMO. He may have the worst hands of any WR in the NFL. The fact that the 49ers let him go when they were absolutely desperate for WR's says it all... Hopefully the Bills can land a much better WR in the draft.
  13. THIS ^. It's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. Believe it or not there WERE still kick off returns for TD's last year, there WERE still big return plays. Less? Maybe, but I'd rather see what offenses and defenses can do anyway. All the rule change did was put the kickoff spot back to where it always had been. Banning wedges has to do more with fewer big kickoff returns IMO, and I'm fine with that too.
  14. Tough for Johnny White to make the team behind FJ, Spiller, and Choice. Gailey went with Choice over White last year, then resigned him...Choice is also a former GT guy. I don't see how White could make the team baring injury. They showed little faith in him last year, giving him virtually no chance after FJ went down.
  15. Maybe, but again he has been durable. To your point about money Spencer Johnson is towards the end of a 5 year 17 mil deal...Making 3 mil this year. Not bad, but more than Troup or Heard. Dwan Edwards is in the 3rd year of a 4 yr 18 Mil deal. 3.8 Mil this year, far exceeding his worth. Especially for an out of position backup. Troup signed a 4 yr 4.6 Mil rookie contract, $490k this year. League minimum I believe. Heard signed a 3 year 1.2 Mil contract, making $540k this year. League minimum. *League minimum depends on when you were drafted/signed, and how many years you have accrued. Troup may be the cheapest player, but I would hope the Bills would keep the best value (Skill for $), not just the cheapest.
  16. This ^. Spencer Johnson is the best of the 3, and is a natural 4-3 DT. He was playing out of position the last 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised to see both him and Heard on the team. I just don't see how you can justify wasting a roster spot on a guy like Troup, unless he actually does something to prove he deserves a roster spot. I don't get how you can say that, since Troup has barely been able to get on the field, let alone make a play. And when he was on the field, he was pushed all over the place. Heard may not have made a bunch of game changing plays, but he was able to push the pocket and at least hold his ground. Just as important, Heard was healthy and on the field when we needed him. If Troup proves something, ANYTHING, on the field I'll change my mind...Until then, I'll stick with my opinion. Like I said before, Johnson is the best of the 3. Dwan Edwards might as well be considered gone already. Baring every DT currently on the roster getting hurt, I don't see how he would be in consideration. He was a 3-4 DE for his entire NFL career, and a mediocre one at best. He certainly isn't a 4-3 DE, and I don't see how he would be an effective 4-3 DT either. Plus, I think he get's paid more than the other guys. nother guy that is virtually invisible when on the field.
  17. I think it's highly unlikely Troup is kept over Heard, baring a spectacular training camp. Injuries or not, the fact of the matter is that Troup has shown exactly nothing during his 2 years in the NFL (other than chronic back problems). Heard is big, explosive, and durable, a very good guy to have for depth. Ruvell Martin has a strong chance to make the team, the Bills signed him specifically for his ST prowess. Other than SJ and Nelson though, no other WR's are "locked in". The lack of talent behind them is scary, so hopefully the Bills take at least 2 in the draft.
  18. I'd be cool with that. Don't know a lot about David, but LB depth is a need. I don't see the Bills waiting until the 4th round for a OT though.
  19. Wow, you are completely missing the point here. Greg Williams gave clear and specific instructions that players should injure their opponents. Whether you believe that's what he intended or not is moot. Whether the players actually followed through with his instructions or not is moot. He told is his players to try and inflict injury via dirty hits, before, during, and after the play. There is nothing to discuss in this regard, it's fact, on tape. If there is evidence that he was also paying "bounties" for inflicting these injuries, then how can you question whether he "really meant it" or not? Your reasoning makes me think that you are the type of guy that believes 911 was just a big conspiracy, and that Elvis, Tupac, and Biggie are alive and partying on some secret island together... The facts are out, it is what it is, whether you believe it or not.
  20. Lol, It's scary that you actually believe what you are saying. GW flat out, in plain English, told his players to attack ACL's, try and create concussions, and attempt to injure in dog piles. Open and closed case. Players in the NFL aren't exactly geniuses, if the coach says to do something, they will try to do it. Especially young players trying to get or keep a job. Why would injuring the other teams best players help your team win? Really? You can't figure that out? If the best players on the other team aren't playing on a rival (like the 49ers were to the Saints last year), your odds go up dramatically. A fine or penalty is a small price to pay, especially if you get a "bounty" for it.
  21. It certainly sounded edited, but it was all from the same speech. I would guess it was edited to remove parts that weren't "interesting" in regards to the bounty issue. Edited for time, not content.
  22. I was a little skeptical about this whole thing, but damn, that's pretty bad. He'll never coach in the NFL again. I still think Payton's suspension is far too severe and should be reduced. I also don't think players should be punished for this beyond fines. They were simply doing what their boss told them to do. To refuse, is to lose a multi-million dollar a year job...
  23. Strangely I'm less excited for the preseason because I believe they actually have a chance for once in the regular season... For once we don't have to hope 8-9 unknown players can magically become starters during the pre-season...
  24. You're going a little over the top defending him. For someone to make it to this point in college and score a 4 on this test, points to a serious problem in this kid's noggin, whatever the cause. If he can't read, how will he learn a complicated NFL playbook.
