  1. The Pats lose OC every year to go on to be HCs. So many on that pipeline, Weiss, Mangini, Crennel etc
  2. When there is only 32 such opening, every NFL HC job is an attractive gig!!!!
  3. Not to rewrite history; When the Bills were hiring their HC two seasons ago, Marrone was considered a front-runner along with Chip Kelly. The Bills were challenged to make a big-time hire and they did that with Marrone. Obviously, the HC candidates like Marrone had the leverage with the bills urgency to hire a big-time coach. I am sure that 4M was the poison pill added to that contract to ensure that a "name" coach was hired. The Bills did just that. I don't think Brandon would have normally done it, but that was going to be his first HC hire.
  4. I think Rex has been a better head coach than Schwartz was in Detroit. Rex did take two of his teams to the AFC Championship game.
  5. Every teams feel that way when their team misses the playoffs. Garbage for one is a treasure for others.
  6. I believe Wilson did not favor MNF as the Bills have a lot more regional fans than other teams.
  7. I think there was definitely a problem with how our OL shaped up this season. Our tackles regressed, Center was average and guards were horrible. Was this due to scheme ? The rookies never got a chance other than RT. I would like to have our new staff evaluate them before going OL heavy in the draft. I would like them to get a super good TE with that 2nd round pick.
  8. I find it hard to believe you wrote that. Rex Ryan took the Jets to two back-to-back AFC Championship game with a very young QB. I don't think all the problems in NY falls on Rex's shoulder (He take a good chunk of blame). But he was put in a lousy position to succeed especially the last two years where he was effectively a lame duck coach. I agree the D disappeared against SD and NE. Against the Raiders, the D held them pretty good; You can't blame it on the coach when the Secondary allows a 50 yard completion on a 3rd and 22. Against Denver, the offense just stunk. The defense kept Manning TD-less, though they did give up 3 short-yard TDs to Anderson. But that is simply how CJ plays and due to the OL in Denver. Does Rex hiring mean that the Bills will deny permission to the Giants for interviewing Peppers
  9. EJ also had never had as good games as Geno had. Geno threw for 300+ yards multiple times. Both are QBs that require a lot of work.
  10. Isn't this how everything works. I am sure I would wait and get a job in Google. But if that offer doesn't come, I am not sitting and staying unemployed.
  11. Because Geno Smith sucked in both those games. He three for 3picks in the first 10 minutes.
  12. The problem with these answers is that there is nothing concrete. Which FA QA do you think will take this team to the playoffs.
  13. Son of Bum P. Or that NFL teams don't want these bums anymore
  14. That is a clutch throw by Luck. I wish we had one such QB.
  15. +1. Orton was mediocre and pedestrian 2nd half of the season. He also did not help the running game grow.
  16. And with zero experience at the highest level. He has 1 year of experience as an OC. +1
  17. And if they can hire a Chan Gailey caliber OC, then that could indeed be a good Coaching staff. Actually the resigning of Marrone has indeed opened the possibility of getting rid of Hackett and his ****ty offense. I a fine with a Trestman or Kubiak as an OC.
  18. Almost similar to Mike Mularkey situation. Mularkey was going to be under the mercy of Marv Levy and his decisions; something he chose to walk away. However, I still think Doug is a coward. He had a 9-7 team minus a starting QB. Instead of taking on that challenge and getting over the hump he chose to walk away; I have to say primarily for the money...He gets 4M in the bank from the Bills and another 4-5M in salary from the next HC gig. I hope Teams do pay attention to the fact that he has quit on his team.
  19. And "That is what makes it so hard!!!!"
  20. Marrone is 9-7 this year because of the fantastic defense that was put up by Jim Schwartz. Marrone and Hackett did a poor job on the offense. I don't believe any team will hire Marrone unless he brings Schwartz with him.
  21. You want our new owner to be a Dan Snyder? And minus a Starting QB. That is the biggest problem and don't know if they have a plan to address it.
  22. I agree. That is a good business practice in general. The problem with Hackett is that he has regressed. He had a revolving door at the QB position last year and yet had a top-10 Running game and a middle of pack offense that simply couldn't score in the RedZone (28th in scoring). Come 2014, the same problems have persisted (RedZone scoring) and inability to run the football. He has given too many options to Orton to chuck the ball and with his inconsistency, that is not playing to the strength of this team. The Oakland game was the best example.. The offense threw away that game by not showing balance. They rushed for 20 yards against one of the worst Run defense team in the league. That is simply inexcusable.
  23. Keith Rivers, Manny Lawson CJ Spiller Rivers and Lawson don't fit this scheme. Spiller hated what Hackett did to his career and will definitely not come back here to be a side kick
  24. More interesting is going to be to see what the Pegulas do with the Dougs. Everything follows after that.
