In spite of the star studded Defensive players, Pettine's defense finished 28th against the Run. Compared to that Schwartz had the same team finishing in the top 10 against the run. In my opinion Pettine was overrated.

This is insane. Two seasons ago, Ralph hired Marronne, one of the hot college head coaches who was coveted by many teams. I thought they paid him something like 4M a year including the sweet out clause. Ralph was not cheap.

I agree with this assessment. It wouldn't be out of question, if the Bills actually selected a LB or Safety with that 50th overall pick. They have needs there.

I thought Whaley quoted as saying that there are no starting positions open on this team and they really need QUALITY Depth. I wouldn't mind trading down in the 2nd round if it will net us additional picks. We need good depth on OL LB CB Our safety position is unknown with the departure of Searcy. Our OL is still an unknown; I expect the sophomore players to be able to step up. We spent significant draft choices on the OL last year. We can't go back to putting high draft picks again there.

All these WRs don't mean a squat if the guy throwing the ball cannot be accurate and the OL protecting the QB does not give enough time

Numbers, especially when looked up after 3 months, can be very deceiving. Many of those yards could have come in garbage time when the game was already out of reach. The issue with Fitz was that he would throw INTs at very inopportune moments and suck the air out of the team. You could never hope that Fitz will score the TD in the 4th quarter to win the game (There were a few exceptions like the one against the Patriots). He was an inconsistent QB with a lousy arm, but could read defenses well.

To be honest, our Tackles played well below average last year. Henderson after a phenomenal September had a pretty average season rest of the way. Glenn was not in his elements and was not the pro-bowl type LT.

Agreed...Even if it is going to cost them $15M per year in salary. If he doesn't work out, the cap hit is not bad to cut him. And if he does, then the Bills are set for the next decade.

I think one more year. They can Franchise Tag him next year if they chose. It is something like a 20M tag.

20 teams (with Good to Great QBs) know that they have no chance at the playoffs without good QB and they will never trade their starting QB. In Today's NFL there is not a single team with two Good/Great starters. Even NE has an unproven 2nd year QB behind Brady. THe only chance would be trade for other teams garbage QB. You can pick your poison from that list Cleveland - Manziel Oakland - David Carr Buffalo - EJ Manuel Titans - ??? Houston Ryan Fitzpatrick Jacksonville - Bortles (You have to give him time) Tampa Bay - Minnesota - Bridgewater (He showed flashes) NY Jets - Geno Smith You are not going to get Rodgers, Brady, Manning(s), BigBen, Mat Ryan, Rivers, Brees, etc.

Agree. The only thing I did not like was that we gave up our 2nd Rd pick (Kiko), and effectively a Top-10 Pick (Spiller) for a Veteran Running Back. Whaley and Rex want to win now. Kiko became expendable with emergence of Preston Brown. Spiller's injury last year put a lid on this team. Rex is a Run-first guy. I think he got a great player. The Eagles will gain the upper-hand if they can sign Spiller to a moderate FA contract. Spiller could succeed in Kelly's system.
