  1. +1. Orton was mediocre and pedestrian 2nd half of the season. He also did not help the running game grow.
  2. And with zero experience at the highest level. He has 1 year of experience as an OC. +1
  3. And if they can hire a Chan Gailey caliber OC, then that could indeed be a good Coaching staff. Actually the resigning of Marrone has indeed opened the possibility of getting rid of Hackett and his ****ty offense. I a fine with a Trestman or Kubiak as an OC.
  4. Almost similar to Mike Mularkey situation. Mularkey was going to be under the mercy of Marv Levy and his decisions; something he chose to walk away. However, I still think Doug is a coward. He had a 9-7 team minus a starting QB. Instead of taking on that challenge and getting over the hump he chose to walk away; I have to say primarily for the money...He gets 4M in the bank from the Bills and another 4-5M in salary from the next HC gig. I hope Teams do pay attention to the fact that he has quit on his team.
  5. And "That is what makes it so hard!!!!"
  6. Marrone is 9-7 this year because of the fantastic defense that was put up by Jim Schwartz. Marrone and Hackett did a poor job on the offense. I don't believe any team will hire Marrone unless he brings Schwartz with him.
  7. You want our new owner to be a Dan Snyder? And minus a Starting QB. That is the biggest problem and don't know if they have a plan to address it.
  8. I agree. That is a good business practice in general. The problem with Hackett is that he has regressed. He had a revolving door at the QB position last year and yet had a top-10 Running game and a middle of pack offense that simply couldn't score in the RedZone (28th in scoring). Come 2014, the same problems have persisted (RedZone scoring) and inability to run the football. He has given too many options to Orton to chuck the ball and with his inconsistency, that is not playing to the strength of this team. The Oakland game was the best example.. The offense threw away that game by not showing balance. They rushed for 20 yards against one of the worst Run defense team in the league. That is simply inexcusable.
  9. Keith Rivers, Manny Lawson CJ Spiller Rivers and Lawson don't fit this scheme. Spiller hated what Hackett did to his career and will definitely not come back here to be a side kick
  10. More interesting is going to be to see what the Pegulas do with the Dougs. Everything follows after that.
  11. You are correct that the players screwed up at critical times. But I can't give a pass to the Offensive side of coaching. The OL was horrible. We had the worst rushing season in the team history. Our RBs each had something like 2TDs each, while CJ Anderson has multiple games with 3TDs each. There was very little imaginative play calling. The QB position definitely did not help, but at least was stable unlike last year. The coaching staff on the O-side has definitely regressed.
  12. Almost like the Monkey is off their backs!
  13. And yet they started Brady for an entire half :wallbash:
  14. I don't think there is a "switch" in Manuel. He is a very inaccurate QB on the short and medium range passes; that is the bread and butter of the NFL. If you can't make those throws consistently, your team has ZERO chance. I don't know how Manuel can improve his accuracy.
  15. What was surprising to me about the way the pick happened was very Un-Steeler like. The Steelers hardly trade draft picks and let the draft come to them. If it was the Steelers, they are sitting and picking a Evans or Beckham at their slot or even trade down. Whaley having been in that system; it was surprising to see him do that. The Bills gambled a lot this season and lost. THe QB position, the RBs and the Offensive play calling sucked. It is a shame that we did not have a single 100-yard rushing from any RB the whole season.
  16. Agreed. We got blown by New England at Home.
  17. Have watched many of the ESPN, NFL highlights and in everything the talking head tries to bring about how GB could have won the game if Nelson catches the ball and the guests have admonished each of them by asking them to look at the type of Defense they are playing. They are not surprised that this defense is a top level defense based on the front seven. The surprise this year has been the play of Bradham and Brown. With Kiko back next year, this can be a top level defense.
  18. And the many questionable decisions he makes on the field. Let us not forget that.
  19. Cutler holds on to the ball too long (Like in our game) and makes mistakes. The biggest problem I believe with Cutler is his locker room presence. From everything said, he is a jerk and not a team-first palyer. Second, I got to think that he does not always execute the plays as designed by the OC. I am sure a team trading for Cutler will renegotiate the contract to be more friendly. Cutler knows that his time with Chicago is done. I am sure he would want to be starting QB somewhere rather than riding the bench in Chicago next Fall.
  20. That is actually giving him more credit. Those guys are much better than Orton at this point. I will take everyone of them above Orton
  21. And he found a Rambo Too!!!
  22. Why do you think negatively. In fact, Kiko who plays for the Bills was the leading candidate for DROY before the DT from the Jets took it away. If you play well enough, you will get noticed
  23. We too had one such head coach and he took his team to 3 consecutive 7-9 seasons......Dick Jauron. If he had a decent QB, may be the luck would have fallen his side to make the playoffs.
