Giants are releasing QB Daniel Jones (future backup to Josh Allen)
ganesh replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
As the previous person mentioned...the Giants owe him up to 10.5M for the rest of the year. Jones could sign for the PS minimum and still get 10.5M for the year. -

17 starting QBs for the Bills between retirement of #12 and the arrival of #17... -
The game will slow down for him next year. We should be seeing a different player next season Elam is under contract for next year. When Douglas departs in FA, I see Elam competing for that starting spot

What happened to Gilliam. Is he in the field for plays...or is he just occupying extra space on the roster?

This year we want the Lombardi. Go Bills !!!

When the defender is 10 yards away, every play is Mistake free as there is no opportunity to make a mistake 🙂. Go Bills !!! The only time Allen did the old Allen thing was the three downs against Houston in the waning seconds of the game. On 1st down, he went for the kill...once he missed, then he tried to make some (almost) reckless plays on 2nd and 3rd down and giving the Texans great field position. That game was really odd especially with his 30% completion percentage...

May be the narratives change this year in the playoffs. The defense rises The offense is balanced and doesn't require Allen to be a super hero Allen makes those spectacular plays that only he can make but stays within the system. They could be winning the SB this year.

I used to go through this regularly when I lived in Pittsburgh. My entire family are Steelers fans while I am the lone die hard Bills fan in the house...And under Rothlisberger, they rarely lost to the bungling Bills and everyone in my house would holler at me with their terrible terrible towels...

They are definitely getting another DT either in the draft or FA. Jone is gone.

Todd Collins survived in this league as a backup and occasional starter for 16 years before retiring from the Chicago Bears. His earnings during his NFL career was a whopping $18.5M. Pretty good for a guy who threw for 4500 yards in his career with 22 TD and 24 INT. This is a Quarterback STARVED league. -
And don't put the game in his hands in the playoffs.
-
Joe Mixon also had a great game against us for the Texans...they just didn't use him well in the 2nd half and we almost pulled off a win. The same goes for Jonathan Taylor...He had something like 5 yards in the 2nd half.

How does it matter...All the 7-playoff bound teams in the AFC are going to be very good teams...The wild card teams will give a run for the money to the division winners in the Wild card weekend. The Chargers, Ravens/Steelers/Bengals, Dolphins and Broncos have good/great QBs and are a well coached team... They will give a tough fight to the division winners who don't earn the #1 seed... Bills/Chiefs, Texans, Steelers/Ravens and upsets are possible.

Because they don't have to pay him anything other than vet minimum. Rest of his 10.5M are being paid by the Giants.. It is a big insurance backup if your star starter goes down. Of course, he also could be taking up a starting job in Week 13 for the several teams that have lost their starting QB..,like the Raiders, possibly the 49ers or replace ineffective starts such as Anthony Richardson with the Colts still in the playoff conversation. -

Do we get the comp picks for 2025 or 2026? I thought losing FA in the given year gave me picks in the same year?
-
Brrr....Sunday night football in that snow...that Steelers-Browns game was terrible... Every team is beatable in the NFL on any given Sunday
-
Agree. Douglas is gone from this team in 2025.

I think the Bills almost came back... After the 3 yard TD by Ty Johnson, the defense forced a punt and then Allen had them driving to the Bal 47 yard...only to get sacked and fumble the ball...If they score a TD there, then they are just 4 points behind at end of 3rd quarter...it definitely could have been a ball game. LOoking through Ravens stats: Defense has given up 22 Passing TDs, 2nd worst in the league Defense has given up 7 Rushing TDs, 7th best in the league Defense has 7 INTs for the season, 14th best in the league Defense has 35 sacks, 3rd best in the league Defense has given up 852 Rushing yards, 2nd best in the league Defense has given up 3351 Passing yards, WORST in the league It was a shame that Allen couldn't test that weak secondary that has given up 3351 yards along with 22 Passing TDs... Of course, the pass rush that day was very tough....Kyle Van Noy was on Allen's face on every throw.

Wasn't Miller already 35 at that time?
-
I am trying to understand (no sarcasm) what is making Baltimore weak and lose games...For the talent in that building, they should be a mile ahead of everyone on the #1 seed...Where are they going wrong?
-
I think the offense run by Daboll and Shannahan are two different. You can't expect Jones to just drop into Santa Clara and somehow take the 49ers to the playoffs.
-
The thing is that Purdy is also the reason why there are 8-9 all-pros/pro-bowlers on that team...
