  1. Very well put. The excuses have to stop and Allen has to protect the football better. You have to find ways to trust your team mates and give them the ball. Dorsey needs to give a game plan to Allen to do exactly that.
  2. Gabe will command a $10-12M annual salary next year and we wil already be against the cap. He is as good as gone next year.
  3. Also, I think they Bills have solidified their front four. They might also sign a veteran DE. This may make the MLB position less critical. Also, Joe Marino had a good point in his recent podcast. Tremaine was 6' 5" and struggled to shed blockers and the MLB position needs a 5' 10" or 5' 11" height player.. Doriyan Williams fits that bill.
  4. The more apt comparison is Steve Young and John Elway. Both of them made great plays but required a team around them to win the Lombardi.
  5. The biggest knock on Allen at this point is the number of turnovers. Due to the way he plays. he fumbles the ball and throws uncharacteristic INTs. If he cleans up this part of his game, he will be unstoppable. I understand that risk taking is what gives us those insane plays...but the bigger picture needs to be in place, especially when you play teams in the playoffs; those turnovers could be the difference between a W or going home for the season.
  6. The Bills also now have a 700M+ bill for the stadium that they need to recover. More prime time games gives them and the neighboring areas the business required to recover that debt.
  7. I think Foles will probably cost us a salary cap hit of $5-10M. Allen is cheaper.
  8. A ranking list in the off season is pretty meaningless other than to list the starting QBs of the 32 teams.
  9. It will never happen. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Hurts, Jackson are the face of the NFL. They are going to see maximum number of primetime games.
  10. We keep wanting Dorsey to be Reid. Dorsey did a good job, but may be hit a wall in the playoffs, I think another off season will help him mature as a play caller.
  11. This will be last year for Poyer and Hyde too....their net cap of $15M will bring down the cap cost.
  12. Kincaid was the 1st player in the draft whose buddy fumbled with finding the hat of the right team that was drafting him !!!!!
  13. Why not! Buffalo was after all known as the Queen City !!!
  14. If that is the case, then we made a poor 3rd round choice. SB teams need to make their draft count,
  15. only for people to chime that the Bills don't get any respect!!!
  16. They were 13 seconds from going to the AFC Championship game. I am sure they definitely sniffed it only to be snuffed out !
  17. A GM never drafts in isolation. I am pretty sure that he works with the HC and the rest of the coaching staff closely in identifying whom to draft.
  18. That shows how terrible it is outside. Frankly, there are not much places to get news on the Bills unless you were local in. Buffalo (and reading daily papers and listening to daily talk shows). TBD has been my one resource for the last 20 odd years (since it was formed from our previous chat boards).
  19. Had to give a B+ for adding protection to Josh Allen. But ignoring the defense especially DT and MLB. We were weak on defense in the Playoffs and we did nothing to address it. Hopefully, a few Veteran FA in those two positions will be hired post May 2nd
  20. I think Shakir shares snaps with Diggs, Davis and Knox on the perimeter. Kincaid shares snaps with Cook and Sherfield A lot of exciting possibilities. Josh and Ken were simply looking for the big plays in the 2nd half of the season. They need to trust the RB and TEs to make plays YAC.
  21. Kincaid is really taking up the slot receiver position. (McKenzie, Crowder and then Beasley late in the season). I think we will go with the same split like last year for Cook and Harris (Singletary). I think Cook gets the higher number of carries than Harris (Harris is also on just a one year deal). WR is really not a glaring need. If they involve Kincaid and Cook in the passing game significantly, then those catches/touches (of the WR group) will shift to them. Josh needs to learn to make more of those touch passes this season and let these two athletes get the YAC. MLB is a huge unknown and concerning to me especially considering that we have not improved the front four with a big run stopper. This finesse defense needs to go and we haven't drafted or picked in FA any player that can stop the run consistently.
  22. If you look at where our pain point was last time and if we have solve it, then the answer is NO. The playoffs are NOT about outscoring your opponents with offense. That works against weak teams in the Wild card. But when it comes to Divisional and Championship round, the defense has to be strong and control the line of scrimmage. Chiefs and Bengals have that type of defense. Unfortunately, the Bills did not improve that area in FA or the Draft. The Bills were weak in Defense (in spite of giving up less points) when it came to the playoffs. The defense gave up 33 points to the Dolphins (with a 3rd string QB) and then 27 points to the Bengals. Both games were at home. In the Bengals game, the defense was unable to stop the quick pass and the run game. They were able to control the line of scrimmage. The pass rush was sorely missing. The pass rush was also missing against the Dolphins 3rd string QB. On the defensive side, the Bills will not have Von MIller for the 1st half of the season. I hope he is ready for the playoffs. Unless Epenesa, Basham and Rosseau can step up significantly, we will not be able to get to Mahomes, Burrow. Heck, we will have difficulty with Jackson, Herbert and Watson. The Bills need a change in defensive philosophy and need strong play by Jones, Oliver and Settle along with the above DEs and Shaq Lawson to make a difference in the Playoffs. But will that be enough to overcome the deficiency of our defense when comes to Divisional or Championship round? Totally agree. The drafted players on our defense MUST make a difference for us to win a SB. That includes. Oliver, Rosseau, Basham, Epenesa, Elam, Bernard, Williams, (all Day 1 or Day 2 picks). The ROI on this group of people (minus Williams) have been below average to terrible. That is the biggest reason for this team to be choking in the playoffs.
  23. Back Surgery. Reported in January. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2023/1/26/23572669/jake-kumerow-injury-buffalo-bills-back-surgery-recovery-training-camp-2023
