I think its the other way around. I look at the different offenses the Patriots have had over the years (radical transformation over the last 18 years) and Belichick's success the year Brady went down in the first quarter of week 1, the year Brady sat 4 games. The Patriots didn't miss a beat with Cassel who had not started a football game since highschool. Garrapolo and even Brisset won games for them when Brady sat out for Deflate Gate. The offense evolved from screen heavy ball control game to a downfield passing juggernaut that set NFL records, to an unstoppable two TE passing game, to a quick timing pass offense, to now a dominant run based attack. They're 3 steps ahead of the rest of the league. Belichick schemes around his players strengths and puts them in a situation to succeed. Belichick is still a Super Bowl winning coach without Brady.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. -

And NEVER any follow up. 100% of GBID's posts are OPs in new threads. Strange. -

Tyrod Taylor has 'nothing but love' for Buffalo
Jauronimo replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod delivered some of the most exciting performances and memorable plays of the drought era. He seems like a good guy and I wish him success. Just not in the AFC East. -
I was making a joke about the old argument that used to get tossed around here that Tyrod was basically "still a rookie" 7 years into his NFL career since he had sat the bench for 5 years and started for 2.

How the Super Bowl Isn't Quite as Super as it Use to Be !!

Who knows? When T Master or Tipster starts a thread, buckle up. -
So what you're saying is that hes basically still a rookie?

I thought Sheary Middlestadt and ERod were the best line on the ice tonight from either team. They were dangerous all night and sustained pressure in the offensive zone. A few weeks ago I commented that nearly all our scoring was coming from the rush. Tonight we saw three beautiful goals from sustained pressure. Hutton instills zero confidence. I am still shocked this one didn't go to OT. Reinhart looked dangerous tonight. What the f@#$ is it with this team and beginning/end of a period??? How many goals do they intend to give up in the final seconds of a period? Unacceptable. Game puck goes to Scandella who I barely noticed tonight. He finished a respectable -1. Dahlin and Bogo were a +4 in a 5 goal effort. 2 assists a piece. Keep them together, please.

How far do we let The Dude's Racism Go?
Jauronimo replied to Joe Miner's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Fred Perry polos are for men, silly. Not just any men but upstanding Western chauvinists and other proud American boys. How many breakfast cereals can you name and can you do so under [physical duress? -

What is your opinion on Fred Perry polos and the Aladdin Soundtrack? -
A man can't even post a link without some cracka ass cracka popping off about "the Root interprets everything through modern racial anger that didn't exist in the mid-1800's. Its important to understand where your information is coming from and if there's inherent bias. You should consider conducting your own research involving primary sources rather than trusting the first link you find via a Google search. Here's a link to raw census data from the period to get your started!" Ain't nobody got time for that, Tom!

I just posted as much. At no time did I infer anything about the motivation of black slave owners.
-
I don't recall posing that question but I added a postscript to my last post which offers additional thought on the question above.

Quick search found a source with some detail on Tom's numbers. https://www.theroot.com/did-black-people-own-slaves-1790895436 I'm sure as f@#$ not going through census data. EDIT: The source suggests free black men were gaming the system in some or many instances to protect loved ones, friends, and fellow slaves and allowing them to work under more "liberal" conditions. Interesting.

Taking on Blake bortles contract?????
Jauronimo replied to Heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its not about the player. Its effectively trading cap space for picks. We'd cut Bortles as soon as possible.
