What does Elam and a pick get you in this market?
Jauronimo replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Elam and 5 firsts might get us Mahomes. Then we can stash him on the depth chart and not have to play him in January. -
When you're hot, you're hot and Buckets is hotter than a pistol right now. Shooters shoot.

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread
Jauronimo replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I legitimately fear for his wellbeing every time I watch him play. -
I wasn't thrilled with the last two goals given up. They were nice shots but from that angle and distance I don't think NHL goalies get burned twice. He made some nice saves tonight but I think he would like one if not both of those back. Before Dahlin two handed that dude in the face I really thought they were going to tie it up. They came very close to making it 3-3 on the PP opportunity minutes before. PP finally showing signs of life. They were overly aggressive and took dumb penalties but I am encouraged by the physicality of this team. They did not back down. Last year this team would be pushed around for 60 minutes and then Krebs would get his face caved in to send some kind of futile message.

I saw a team that belongs on the ice with the best teams in the league. I saw a team that was not pushed around by a very physical Panthers team. Totally disagree this take.

WNY's greatest export is people.

Manufacturing close games would be extremely dumb. And if you're gonna be dumb you GOTTA be tough. By that logic I agree.

Ocean access is largely irrelevant in most locales. The fish you're eating are not likely to be locally caught. I'm looking at an omakase menu from a high end place in Houston and its Japanese sea bream, japanese amberjack, japanese mackerel, uni and salmon roe from Hokkaido, Norwegian lobster, unagi from Japan, and tuna providence unknown. We are right on the Gulf but none of these fish are local. Any high end sushi spot is sourcing from all over the world and has some kind of connection to the Toyosu fish market in Japan.

Tracking Not Drafted by the Bills Players

Rapp knocks someone unconscious on that play. No way he gets run over. Someone is going to sleep. I don't know who, but someone, possibly a teammate, is getting lit up if thats Rapp. -
Buffalo could probably support one decent omakase place. 12 seats, 2 seatings a night, Thurs- Sunday, $175 per head with booze extra. Scarcity creates its own demand.

Definitionally, sushi is short grained rice seasoned with salt, sugar, and vinegar. Every sushiya has their own seasoning blend.

Almost all seafood is frozen on the boat before it reaches market. And sashimi grade fish is frozen again to kill all parasites. And then the fish is aged further until it reaches the ideal zone for texture and flavor. You would not want to eat toro that was caught, butchered, and sliced same day because that would be some tough, bland tuna. Its not at all uncommon to see dry aging fridges at high end sushi spots similar to what you might see at a steak house. "Fresh" meat and fish is an enduring myth. Unless you caught it or killed it yourself, nothing we eat is meeting any definition of fresh. Aging, or controlled rotting, is the key to great meat, with few exceptions. https://thejapanesefoodlab.com/fish-ageing-science/ https://www.seriouseats.com/how-to-prepare-raw-fish-at-home-sushi-sashimi-food-safety

It took until February 25th to win 3 games in a row last season. They would have two 3 game winning streaks in 2023-2024 season (both ended at 3); one in February and one in March, both of which included a SO victory. 2022 saw a number of little hot streaks.

You're up! Panthers are the next opponent and we beat them pretty soundly last time so I'm sure they will be motivated. Here's a little primer on what you've missed: 1. Sabres have been the better team in every game except for Columbus since coming back to North America, in my opinion. They've been playing well. 2. Levi isn't very good. 3. With even a bottom 3rd PP, this team would likely be undefeated since returning from Europe (which isn't even a real country anyway) 4. The PP finally scored yesterday which means they're contribution on the season remains -1. But signs of life are encouraging. 5. Buffalo leads the league in 5 on 5 scoring. 6. Sabres are the worst team in the history of hockey when defending a 1 goal lead with under 2 mins to play. 7. All of GM KA's much criticized bottom 6 signings have been amazing to date. McLeod, Zucker, and Malenstyn are all playing really well. 8. Quinn, Cozens, and Benson are a black hole of offense and bad defensively. 9. Sabres are near the league lead in points by defenseman. Lindy is taking Owen Power to the next level. Dahlin is playing through injury. Byram is not too shabby. 10. There is a $40 dollar burger being sold at the rink that looks like it would make you ***** your pants pretty much instantly after consumption. 11. Jeff Skinner is playing 3rd line with the Oilers and has fewer goals than McLeod and fewer points than Zucker.

Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy

Anyone who knew an Iggles fan during the Reid years listened to endless rants about game management decisions and choking away wins that would make even the staunchest McD hater feel pretty good about what we got. -
Its baffling. Cozens lights it up every offseason playing for Canada. I think he is struggling with the pressure to live up to the contract, wearing the A, and turning this franchise around. Benson has a high hockey IQ and flashes as a playmaker in spots but I think hes just too small right now to be effective. He is too easily pushed off the puck. His CORSI score is high which is a continuing challenge to my entry to the world of advanced stats. Can't believe this PP has yet to score when you have two elite one timers on opposite wings in Tage and Kulich. They've had their chances but nothing falling. I don't like Cozens in the bumper spot but I like him even less on the wing on the PP. Quinn strikes me as an ideal fit for the bumper spot but what do I know.

I think there's a very real world where Milano isn't the player we remember until next season or ever again.
-
Cozens, Quinn, and Benson have combined for 3 points and are a collective -10.

I was unable to watch since Houston is somehow in the Dallas market but based on the radio feed it sounded like a strong performance. They have won the two toughest games on the schedule to date and done so in convincing fashion. This season looks very different if they manage to hold on to close out LA and/or Picksburgh. The most impressive part is they are in these games based purely on 5 on 5 play. A mediocre power play would be such an upgrade that they might be undefeated since coming back to the states. The PP is a major issue but I would rather be trying to figure out how to get the special teams clicking than trying to get something going 5 on 5. I don't know if our top line production is sustainable. This stands out as a risk factor. I hope our 2nd line lack of production is not sustainable. This remains a major risk factor. Every bottom 6 acquisition is looking pretty solid right now particularly McLeod and Zucker. These guys are totally outperforming Cozens, Benson, and Quinn.

Keon Coleman 5th In Rookie Receiving Yards
Jauronimo replied to iwishitwerecolder's topic in The Stadium Wall
At this point hes much more dangerous as a runner. We should be getting him some looks in the screen game instead of forcing them to Samuel and continue giving him quick hitters like the one he took to the house. Get the ball in his hands and let DBs try to tackle him solo. -
I don't take any chances. Fill em up!
