  1. This. There's a segment of the fan base that can talk themselves into any outcome being beneficial somehow i.e. this loss might be a "blessing." We've already had 2 "blessings" in the first 6 weeks I can do without any more. Everyone that was around in the early 90's would laugh at this notion.
  2. He's on the wrong side of 30 and probably doesn't make a ton of sense for a team with our D-line depth and a front office that doesn't make knee-jerk reactions. His off the field persona is exemplary, however. He's a pillar of the community in every sense of the phrase - providing advocacy and support to families of special needs children and has established multiple charitable foundations. It's a much bigger loss for the city of Houston than the team. Not sure if that moves the needle at all, but it definitely doesn't hurt.
  3. It's not downtown it's the old first ward, which makes this idea even funnier. Since we're going to have about 2 more years of these threads before they break ground in Orchard Park, here's some reading material: Sports, Jobs, and Taxes: The Economic Impact of Sports Teams and Stadiums It's written by a Stanford professor emeritus in economics and former senior economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. TLDR - NFL stadiums don't spur economic growth, and in many cases they may actually hinder it.
  4. Yeah they set that one up on a tee and the broadcast team whiffed. I think Levy was drunk, I'm pretty sure I heard him call our QB Tannehill and he didn't seem to understand that the game was on the line for that 4th down play.
  5. To quote Jay Skurski from the BN - "Please, if you hear someone say that if you “subtract the 76-yard run,” the Bills did a pretty good job against Henry, stage an intervention with that person." I already know that's going to be the most repeated phrase of the next 2 weeks
  6. The Dominos? Tonight would have been Derrick and The Dominos ok I'll let myself out...
  7. I didn't hear that narrative. How many players from this D were even on the team when we played them 3 games ago?
  8. Our base D is nickel, we're just not built to stop a power running game. And boy, did it show tonight.
  9. They sounded pretty quiet for "taking over" the stadium.
  10. The Jets are doing Jets things
  11. Likely? We are entering this season with the worst goaltending tandem in franchise history.
  12. He's not even the best FA signing on the current team.
  13. In Sorensen's defense, it's tough to cover a guy for 6 seconds. Also, there isn't a safety in the league that can cover Diggs. He's the scapegoat for a lousy gameplan. I thought Mathieu's gestures and comments were out of line.
  14. Didn't we do something like this with Whitner?
  15. They'll still catch 5 home games, welcome back!
  16. This thread is about to get lively!
  17. He knee was CLEARLY down before the ball came out. That still frame image was taken after his knee already hit the ground and touched.
  18. Great post. Mack was a damn good RB before that injury, but let someone else roll the dice on him.
  19. Thanks for nothing, Rodrigo Blankenship.
  20. Those who know, know.
  21. Yeah, I don't get it either.
